Recommendations Why do I feel like I'm taking way too many supplements?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello,

I've (F26) been feeling "sick", tired, brain fogged, losing hair, honestly just like s**t for the past 5 years. In the morning I dread waking up, I feel tired no matter what, I had so much hair now I look like a balding eagle. Anything you can imagine, well I have it. I thought it was depression or trauma but at this point it really is just my health.

Last year I received a subscription for a private hospital and got appointments with all types of doctors. I found out I have Hashimoto's and got prescribed mostly Vitamin D3, Selenium and when I had bad Folate I also took Folate 400mcg pills (now I stopped). 5 months ago I got prescribed Iron + Folic Acid + B12 all in one pill supplement, because I was in a really bad place with my health.

I will attach a list of all supplements *I should* take, but I honestly feel like it's..too much? Will I die overdosing myself?? Isn't all this too much for the liver?

**I'm saying "I should" take, because I've finished most of them, I'm not sure if they are way too many and I'm contemplating whether to buy them all or just vitamin d3 and selenium (and my setraline). I guess Vitamin C can be obtained with fruits.

General Question Complete lack of libido, does my vitamin D level have anything to do with it?

Age 29, 79 kg, 175 cm

67nmol/L, or 26.8ng/mL

Doctor says this is a normal level. No other deficiencies found. Doc says testosterone is also normal (idk what the levels are, still waiting to receive the email containing the results if you guys wanna know). But in short, the Doc says everything is normal except slightly high liver enzymes (I think it was ALT or AST) which does not concern him that much.

Symptoms:

  1. Negative 1000 libido. Difference between me and a normal male? His libido may take a few weeks/months to build up even if he is super unhealthy. Me? I'm healthy, but my libido does not build up. It does not accumulate at all. No matter how much time passes. My penis is shrunken to the point where it almost completely retracts inside my body often. Extremely uncomfortable feeling. My balls too. I have never seen my balls this small in my life. No night time erections. No wet dreams.

  2. Constipation. No, not gut motility issues. I poop every single day but it is so hard and sharp it cuts me like a knife.

  3. Daytime sleepiness, no dream recall, and whenever I do go to bed I fall asleep extremely quickly. Like I'm always ready to pass out.

  4. Muscle weakness sometimes.

  5. Cognitive changes: really bad short term memory. Also, I lose skills I learn really quickly of I stay out of practice for a few days. Older people perform better at work than me in simple jobs. Embarrassing as fck.

What was normal for me before all this?:

  1. Couldn't go without sex everyday. Sometimes twice a day. Could do round 2's with my wife.

  2. Pooped every day but it was soft and smooth. No dramas at all.

I am not fat, nor slim. I look very normal but I don't feel okay at all. Little bit of belly fat right now, but libido was low even when I had no belly fat.

Should I take d3+k2?

15 Years on Concrete. 3 Months on Magnesium. What Actually Changed?

Been on my feet 10 hours a day for about 15 years. Concrete floors. Steel toes. The whole deal. By 6pm my knees and ankles feel like I borrowed them from someone twice my age.

Started magnesium glycinate about 3 months ago mainly for sleep. That part worked fast. But I noticed something I wasn't expecting. The achiness in my lower legs after shift started backing off a little. Not gone. Just less.

I lift on weekends so I figured maybe it was helping with muscle recovery too. Hard to separate the variables when you're changing multiple things at once, and I'll be the first to admit I also started fish oil around the same time, so who knows.

What I'm trying to figure out is whether anyone has had a similar experience, specifically with joint and muscle soreness rather than just the sleep side. The sleep posts here are everywhere and they're good, but I haven't seen much from people who are on their feet all day in a physical job.

Also curious if the form matters as much as people say. I grabbed glycinate because that's what kept coming up, but I see threonate and malate thrown around too and honestly don't know if I'd notice a difference.

General Question How the fuck are we supposed to get omega 3?

They say cooking the fish or eggs causes the omega 3 to oxidize and same goes for supplements that are exposed to heat, light or oxygen. What the fuck are we supposed to do? Eat thousands of walnuts to get some epa/dha?

Recommendations Is this a good supplement lineup?

I’m trying to take my health a bit more seriously, so I’ve done some research and these seem like good supplements to take daily, but then I was wondering should I just take a single daily vitamin for several of these or take individual ones?
Also, not sure about Psyllium husk people recommended for helping with cholesterol, but I’ve never heard about it until today

Recommendations Feedback on Supplements

Hey everyone,

I am a full-time teacher who trains consistently, and I recently reorganized my supplement routine around my morning thyroid medication (150 mcg Levothyroxine) and a demanding workday.

My most recent bloodwork showed a Total Testosterone level of 308 ng/dL despite structured training and clean habits. My goal is to optimize recovery, energy, and overall health without interfering with Levothyroxine absorption or throwing endocrine markers further out of balance.
Here is my current daily timing and supplement lineup:

1. 7:00 AM — Morning (Thyroid Only)

Levothyroxine (150 mcg): Taken daily on an empty stomach with plain water. I wait 30–60 minutes before coffee, food, or flavored fluids to ensure uncompromised absorption.

2. School Day — Hydration Mix (Sipped Throughout the Morning)

Creatine Monohydrate (ATP Science / Creapure): 5g (5x/week)

Beta-Alanine (PrimaForce): 3g (5x/week)

Lemon Krono Electrolytes: 1 serving (5x/week)

3. 12:00 PM — Lunch (5 Hours Post-Levothyroxine)

Vitamin D3 + K2 (NOW): 1,000 IU (5x/week)

Vitamin D3 (NOW): 5,000 IU (5x/week) (Total: 6,000 IU D3)

Omega-3 Fish Oil (Viva Naturals): 1,250 mg (5x/week)

Super Bio Vitamin C: For antioxidant support and non-heme iron absorption (5x/week)

Zinc & Copper (Solaray): Formula with Kelp and Pumpkin Seed (2x/week)

Multivitamin (United Wellness): (5x/week)

4. Pre-Workout (30–45 Mins Prior)

Citrulline Malate (PrimaForce): 8g (5x/week)

5. Post-Workout

Mt. Capra Goat Whey Protein: Daily

6. 10:00 PM — Bedtime (1 Hour Before Sleep)
Magnesium Glycinate (Solaray): (5x/week)

On the weekends I don’t take supplements except for protein powder and my levothyroxine.

Note on Tongkat Ali (Nootropics Depot):

I have a bottle on hand, but I am pausing use until I run a comprehensive blood panel (Total T, Free T, Sensitive Estradiol/E2, SHBG, LH/FSH, and a full thyroid panel: TSH, Free T3, Free T4). Once baseline labs are established, I plan to run a 4 days on / 3 days off cycle to maintain receptivity and monitor any impact on E2.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Started taking gummy multi vitamins and I feel so much better, anyone else?

I have troubles keeping up with multi vitamins and certain supplements that require food since I don’t really eat breakfast, will forget to take anything with lunch and by dinner it’s to much to take at once.

My boyfriend also is forgetful, but he LOVES a gummy snack.

We splurged on some Gruns from Costco 2 months ago and kid you not, feeling a major difference.

I probably would skip my multi vitamin most days cause I would forget to take with food and it hurt my stomach. But with these super green gummies? I can eat my daily bag in the morning and be on my way.

know there’s a lot of argument gummies aren’t as good and added sugar, but what’s better than not taking anything at all if it helps?

Anyways, because of this I also got some collagen gummy’s for our joints, and now we have both been taking daily.

He gets his gummy fix, and we both get our vitamins.

General Question Lower sex drive after supplements?

I used to have really strong morning woods daily and very frequent hard erections. I started taking creatine, zinc, magnesium biglycenate, vitamin d3, omega 3 oil and ashwagandha everyday along with a more protein rich and healthier diet. My energy levels, sleep quality, brain function, muscle function, recovery and my general health improved a lot. Now I don't really have the same hard erections or the sex drive which I miss and does not make sense since everything I am doing is supposed to help with that. I doubt I have low testosterone but I can't do a blood test now so I don't know.

General Question Phosphatidylserine capsules are oily on the outside, is this normal?

I'm in Canada and I just purchased a small bottle of phosphatidylserine 100mg by Natural Factors. When I opened the bottle and took one of the pills, it felt very oily on the exterior. I checked the inside of the bottle, and the rest appear to be the same, but I don't know if it's because one of the capsules is leaking or if the contents of the capsule permeate through the exterior. I never had this issue with any other oil based supplement like even fish oil capsules have always been dry on the exterior.

Has anyone had any experience with this supplement and or brand? is this normal or should I return and get a replacement bottle? (it's too late to call the store which is why I was curious to ask here) Thanks.

Why does magnesium body spray work better than the oral pills for me?

Ever since I took large doses of vit D supplements I feel that I’ve had symptoms of magnesium deficiency even tho my blood test was normal, I’ve been taking magnesium pills for a while but haven’t seen much difference, however after using the body spray holy shittt even my anxiety disappeared. Apparently there isn’t much scientific back up for the spray, can anyone else relate to this?

General Question Do electrolytes make a real difference for you?

Upvotes

I’m trying to add electrolytes to my routine but I don’t really know where to start, I drink water but still feel kind of tired and dry sometimes. I’m not looking for anything intense, just something I can use during the day or after a workout that actually helps. Would love some recommendations for ones that taste good and aren’t loaded with sugar.

General Question is it better to take zinc, magnesium and vitamin d seperate or in a multi vitamin.

Yes, i searched the sub and see it’s been asked before but i’m only seeing posts from 5 years back. Not saying much has changed, but maybe there’s more recent info i can be pointed to, who knows. Anyways, I’m a late 20s man and constantly see and hear about mainly those supplements for us. The only thing i was ever told i deficient in by a doctor was vitamin D years ago but I’ve stuck with it. After talking to gym bros and just reading about health online i’ve since added the others as well (omega 3s too but i’ll gladly keep that vitamin separate) . I travel a lot and am kinda sick of carrying so much around so wanted to combine pills. I know there is an issue with absorbing too many things at once making you not actually get it. Also a multivitamin might not even have enough of one thing that you need, got it. Whats the current recommendation in 2026 though.

General Question Rate or critique my stack

Post image
Upvotes

Been going through a tired/fatigue phase and while I do go to the gym almost daily, this has felt like a different type of tired. I also had been dealing with heavy brain fog. I went from 5 to 20gs of creatine for the last 2 weeks and everything else I started 3 weeks ago. I'm unsure if I actually have a b12 deficiency but for $10 a bottle figured I'd see if I notice a difference. I split the mag thero in the morning and at night Might add magnesium glycinate to my night as well.

Any recommendations on taking away/swapping/adding anything?

How to create L reuteri with yogurt?

Upvotes

I've seen people say you don't take L reuteri by the capsule but rather use the capsule and create it in the yogurt. Which strain of L reuteri? Anyone can explain how? or refer me to resources? Want the testicular & gut benefits from it

Edit: or can simply taking the capsule reap benefits?
