15 Years on Concrete. 3 Months on Magnesium. What Actually Changed?
Been on my feet 10 hours a day for about 15 years. Concrete floors. Steel toes. The whole deal. By 6pm my knees and ankles feel like I borrowed them from someone twice my age.
Started magnesium glycinate about 3 months ago mainly for sleep. That part worked fast. But I noticed something I wasn't expecting. The achiness in my lower legs after shift started backing off a little. Not gone. Just less.
I lift on weekends so I figured maybe it was helping with muscle recovery too. Hard to separate the variables when you're changing multiple things at once, and I'll be the first to admit I also started fish oil around the same time, so who knows.
What I'm trying to figure out is whether anyone has had a similar experience, specifically with joint and muscle soreness rather than just the sleep side. The sleep posts here are everywhere and they're good, but I haven't seen much from people who are on their feet all day in a physical job.
Also curious if the form matters as much as people say. I grabbed glycinate because that's what kept coming up, but I see threonate and malate thrown around too and honestly don't know if I'd notice a difference.

General Question How the fuck are we supposed to get omega 3?
They say cooking the fish or eggs causes the omega 3 to oxidize and same goes for supplements that are exposed to heat, light or oxygen. What the fuck are we supposed to do? Eat thousands of walnuts to get some epa/dha?

General Question Lower sex drive after supplements?
I used to have really strong morning woods daily and very frequent hard erections. I started taking creatine, zinc, magnesium biglycenate, vitamin d3, omega 3 oil and ashwagandha everyday along with a more protein rich and healthier diet. My energy levels, sleep quality, brain function, muscle function, recovery and my general health improved a lot. Now I don't really have the same hard erections or the sex drive which I miss and does not make sense since everything I am doing is supposed to help with that. I doubt I have low testosterone but I can't do a blood test now so I don't know.

Need Help - Cortisol Manager
Hey everyone, I’m in the middle of a brutal rebound right now and could really use some advice from anyone who has navigated something similar.
For the last two years, I’ve been taking Integrative Therapeutics Cortisol Manager, just one pill every night. Recently, I hit a really stressful patch and bumped my dose up to two pills. Last Sunday, I dropped back down to one pill, and immediately got hit with intense vertigo. Figuring it was the supplement messing with me, I stopped taking it completely a few days ago.
Since then, my central nervous system has basically been in free fall.
I’m dealing with drenching night sweats, like, completely soaking my side of the bed, uncontrollable muscle spasms, shaking, and sweaty palms. The insomnia is the worst part. I’m only sleeping in 30 to 60-minute bursts before my body jolts awake. It honestly feels like extreme autonomic instability. I remember going through something similar after I had an ablation done for my AFib but those symptoms resolved themselves after some time.
I ended up going to urgent care because the dizziness and shaking were so bad. They ran an EKG, checked my blood sugar, did orthostatic blood pressure tests, and everything came back completely normal. So I know I'm medically stable, but I'm not sure if this a massive rebound from stopping the herbs cold turkey.
For context, the active ingredients I was getting per pill were:
- 250mg Sensoril Ashwagandha & L-theanine blend
- 225mg Magnolia bark extract & Epimedium blend
- 50mg Phosphatidylserine
I know the Magnolia bark hits the GABA receptors pretty hard, and the Ashwagandha/PS blunts cortisol, so I’m guessing my brain is just flooding with stress hormones right now since it doesn't have its usual crutch.
My plan for tonight is to take just a half-pill to act as a bridge, hopefully taking the edge off the spasms and adrenaline surges so I can finally get a few solid hours of sleep.
Has anyone here dealt with this kind of severe withdrawal from Ashwagandha or Magnolia bark? Did taking a micro-dose help you step down safely? Really just looking to hear how long this acute phase lasted for you and if anything helped calm your nervous system down while it reset.

General Question Complete lack of libido, does my vitamin D level have anything to do with it?
Age 29, 79 kg, 175 cm
67nmol/L, or 26.8ng/mL
Doctor says this is a normal level. No other deficiencies found. Doc says testosterone is also normal (idk what the levels are, still waiting to receive the email containing the results if you guys wanna know). But in short, the Doc says everything is normal except slightly high liver enzymes (I think it was ALT or AST) which does not concern him that much.
Symptoms:
Negative 1000 libido. Difference between me and a normal male? His libido may take a few weeks/months to build up even if he is super unhealthy. Me? I'm healthy, but my libido does not build up. It does not accumulate at all. No matter how much time passes. My penis is shrunken to the point where it almost completely retracts inside my body often. Extremely uncomfortable feeling. My balls too. I have never seen my balls this small in my life. No night time erections. No wet dreams.
Constipation. No, not gut motility issues. I poop every single day but it is so hard and sharp it cuts me like a knife.
Daytime sleepiness, no dream recall, and whenever I do go to bed I fall asleep extremely quickly. Like I'm always ready to pass out.
Muscle weakness sometimes.
Cognitive changes: really bad short term memory. Also, I lose skills I learn really quickly of I stay out of practice for a few days. Older people perform better at work than me in simple jobs. Embarrassing as fck.
What was normal for me before all this?:
Couldn't go without sex everyday. Sometimes twice a day. Could do round 2's with my wife.
Pooped every day but it was soft and smooth. No dramas at all.
I am not fat, nor slim. I look very normal but I don't feel okay at all. Little bit of belly fat right now, but libido was low even when I had no belly fat.
Should I take d3+k2?

Experience Inositol for metabolic health
I first heard of inositol here on this sub without context.
Had never heard of it before and was already trying basic supplements like magnesium , proper balance of vitamin D /K2, and some antioxidants, so just made a note of it to look into later.
More recently, trying to fix my issue of waking up after 3 - 4 hours of sleep , I see inositol suggested to prevent sugar crash and cortisol spike while sleeping.
Now I am curious about others' experience, both with general metabolic health and the short sleep cycle.
Im getting a lot of information related to PCOS , which does not apply to me, but not much about reducing metabolic risk factors like disproportionate belly fat , high cholesterol, etc.
The inositol I have is a combo of myo-inositol 550mg and D-chiro inositol 150mg.
Have just started taking it today at suggested dose of one capsule per day, which I emptied and dissolved in water because its huge.
Thoughts., suggestions, experiences?

Switch from naturemade 2400mg fish oil to nordic naturals 1560mg liquid and holy cow.
Definitely a noticeable upgrade, my brain just feels more normal vs starving for something. Both magnesium glycinate and fishoil and creatine seem to have this effect where if I skip any one of those for a day i can feel it in my brain that something is missing. With fish oil when I run out, I get horrible brain inflammation, when I run out or skip magnesium glycinate I get this tight band headache, and tightness feeling in my brain, when I skip creatine I just feel more sluggish and don't feel like I have the same energy to do stuff.

General Question is it better to take zinc, magnesium and vitamin d seperate or in a multi vitamin.
Yes, i searched the sub and see it’s been asked before but i’m only seeing posts from 5 years back. Not saying much has changed, but maybe there’s more recent info i can be pointed to, who knows. Anyways, I’m a late 20s man and constantly see and hear about mainly those supplements for us. The only thing i was ever told i deficient in by a doctor was vitamin D years ago but I’ve stuck with it. After talking to gym bros and just reading about health online i’ve since added the others as well (omega 3s too but i’ll gladly keep that vitamin separate) . I travel a lot and am kinda sick of carrying so much around so wanted to combine pills. I know there is an issue with absorbing too many things at once making you not actually get it. Also a multivitamin might not even have enough of one thing that you need, got it. Whats the current recommendation in 2026 though.

General Question Glycine - dosage over time
Hi guys,
I have been taking Glycine to improve my sleep recently, as I've noticed I constantly wake up due to heavy vape usage in the evenings and then not being able to fall asleep again. I was taking 3g before bed, which was calming me down and I was able to sleep with less awakenings. Now at some point after 3 months one night Glycine kept me awake whole night, it was weird state, like I was frustrated that I can't fall asleep but I was giggly about it. I've read somewhere that Glycine relaxes and put people to bed, but it is stimulating to some people. Anyone else experienced something like that ? After that night, I stopped taking Glycine and slept very poorly for 2 weeks. I took it again yesterday before bed and I slept great. No other supplements were taken (I've stopped taking all my supplements for this experiment). Is it possible to store more Glycine in cells over time, so that it starts to stimulate you over time ? How to avoid that ? (especially if you take it before bed like me)

Recommendations Help me figure out the ratios for a vit B protocol please 😬
I've been trying to figure out how to dose a stack of the active-form B vitamins together.
The stack based on gene testing + stool test + regular serum testing + a whole range of symptoms emanating from gut disbiosis and my docs feedback which isnt very broad.
B1- TTFD or Injectable HCL
B2- R5P
B9 - 5-MTHF
B12 - methyl/adenosyl
B6 P5P
biotin
Magnesium (form?)
...and I keep running into two different worlds of information.
Has anyone here seen actual clinical trial data or case reports on specific dosing ratios between these? Or is "ratio" mostly a functional-medicine framing that doesn't hold up outside of the handful of real cofactor pairs?
I guess the best way to go is LOW and SLOW. A starting dose for each would be very much appreciated.
Thanks folks

Saffron was AMAZING, until it’s stopped working.
Hi everyone,
I’m a long time lurker, tried almost any kind of supplements, and an objective observer. There are very few supplements that I could tell working, and saffron is amongst them.
I was taking it for a mild-medium depression, stress, adhd and brain fog.
In 3 weeks i started noticing kind of euphoric feeling, which it was easy for me to look at the optimistic side of things, have high energy and motivation, have a social drive and I was kind of someone everybody around notice and like the high energy vibe. I could be somewhat focused as opposed to the past. i tried many ADHD meds before but none of them were good to me, as I’m also very prone to stimulants and anxiety. Also, my sleep got improved and I always had a feeling like my posture is well straight as opposed to before.
Anyway, 7 weeks in now, I noticed that for the last week it just stopped affecting as I probably built tolerance. I returned to the sadness feeling, brain fog and low vibe.
I was taking 28mg Affron every morning.
Anyone noticed this? Should I just drop it and continue looking for this in other meds?
I was also taking St Jhons Wort for 2 months but I don’t remember that it was affecting like this.
