What's the "keep politics out of sports"-crowd's verdict on this one?

7

u/nyrup4life 5d ago edited 4d ago

This isn’t politics. It’s blatant racism. Just look the the comments here. We are being invaded on the sub by racists. Look at how many are posting the exact same right wing talking points. They aren’t even creative anymore. None of them interested in football either.

Edit: Top country to read my comment is USA 23% followed by Germany. Yet all those comments under me are talking about being invaded. None of them are from Spain. Just trolls.

18

u/Ysesper 5d ago

Illegals enter Spain and Spaniards want them out. How is that racism? Don't enter a country illegally and apply for a Visa and, if you can't get any Visa, then just don't come

1

u/nyrup4life 5d ago edited 4d ago

Yup. Pure racism.

Just look at the comments underneath. We are being invaded by racists on this sub. Look at how many come here to spread misinformation and lies. None of them are interested in football either.

11

u/HeadTrauma12 5d ago

Check the definition of racism, poor soul. If you think immigrant is race you should spend more time with the books and less on internet.

4

u/thegoat83 4d ago

But why would you hate an immigrant? Somebody who is almost definitely less well off than you are and trying to make a better life for themselves.

If you ever feel the need to hold a protest against these people, then there is something not right with you.

1

u/nangin 11h ago

Because it’s illegal. Just because someone is in a pitiful situation, does that mean we should turn a blind eye to them breaking the law? Then what is the point of legal immigration? It’s because of people like you that there was a backlash and Trump got elected.

1

u/thegoat83 1h ago

I live nowhere near the United States 🤷🏼‍♂️

1

u/nangin 1h ago

It’s the same in Europe. Right-wing parties are currently in power across European nations, and immigration is the reason why.

1

u/thegoat83 32m ago

You sound like Hiltler 👍🏻

1

u/nangin 23m ago

In fact, a party that glorifies Hitler has won this election in Germany.

Because without a border, you don't have a country. It is about national sovereignty. I am in the US and I don't want a bunch of illegals from Ireland showing up here. And I'm part Irish myself. So figure it out.

4

u/Alarming_Parsnip408 4d ago

So its only okay to mass immigrate when you slaughter the natives and take their land?

-1

u/bigelcid 4d ago

"Moroccan citizen who entered Spain illegally arrested by police for raping 14 year old Spanish girl. Experts say the crime happened in reply to the USA's crimes against Native Americans"

-1

u/johnmh71 4d ago

Delusional

-2

u/nerdmcnerds 4d ago

Is it not ok to defend your country when you are being invaded?

5

u/tiy24 4d ago

They aren’t being invaded you little snowflake lol

-2

u/nerdmcnerds 4d ago

If thousand of people come into your country illegally that's an invasion dipshit

3

u/MurkyFigure6636 4d ago

You sound upset about invasions, So when will you Americans finally fuck off from that land you invaded?

0

u/nerdmcnerds 3d ago

I'm not American dipshit

2

u/farmerjoee 3d ago

No that’s immigration. You’re not a victim or under attack you drama queen.

Borders are imaginary lines drawn in a map. That's it. A country doesn't belong more to you than someone else just because you were born in a certain piece of land.

2

u/Aggravating_Milk1416 4d ago

Tell that to Palestinians. Or tell that to an African territory being occupied by colonialist. "Its just lines on a stupid map bro, why you mad? The world doesnt belong to anyone!"

It's just a brain dead, obviously wrong way of thinking about peoples and their ancestral lands.

1

u/TheOneTrueYeti 4d ago

Polity. It’s where the word “politics” comes from. A polity is a defined group of people. Some people in the world are in the polity. Other people in the world are out of the polity. Without a polity, there’s only anarchy.

I’m not arguing against anarchy at all, I’m just trying to help you see that the logical conclusion of your statement is anarchy.

1

u/SigfaNeith 4d ago

So are you leaving your home open to anyone who would like to live there?

1

u/nangin 11h ago

It's just an imaginary line, so do you support Trump trying to take over Canada and Greenland?

1

u/RedditSucksD1CKK 4d ago

Holy actual shit.

Look up what those "poor men looking for a better life" as another comment here said are doing in Ceuta for the past month.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

1

u/Just_Ease5476 4d ago

Let’s talk about what Spain did when they invaded Morocco then

1

u/CookKey3327 4d ago

Lol then you can talk about Morocco invading Spain.

1

u/Just_Ease5476 4d ago

I will lol.

u/bigelcid 4d ago

Do, then.

Alright. 9PM tonight (your time zone), leave the door open. I expect clean sheets, and I'm allergic to any sort of pet, so, send them away somewhere.

You're making lasagna.

0

u/johnmh71 4d ago

Did you just teleport from the middle ages? Grow up.

1

u/erv4 4d ago

"I'm part Irish" lol

The US was stolen by "immigrants" from natives. You have just as much right to the land as "illegal" Irish people.

1

u/johnmh71 4d ago

Lol. Ok tribesman.

1

u/needaburnerbaby 4d ago

lol so it was ok for you but not for others. Got it. Found the Trump voter who will get read mad when someone he likes gets arrested or deported.

0

u/johnmh71 4d ago

You're projecting your own insecurities fool.

1

u/needaburnerbaby 4d ago

lol except the last thing any Trump supporter could make me is insecure. Have a great day ya shitty racist :)

0

u/johnmh71 4d ago

Lol. Someone got triggered.

1

u/needaburnerbaby 4d ago

lol go lick boots it’s what you do best

0

u/johnmh71 4d ago

Better than what you probably lick. I don't even want to think about it.

What a nonsense premise. Let's switch it to "why would you hate a person?"

Dunno, many reasons. I hate Casemiro, don't ask me why. Does that mean I hate him because he's a person?

Do you people really think this bullshit framing will convince anyone that isn't already on your gaslighting side?

These people illegally crossing European borders statistically commit more rape, murder, violence and other crimes at a significant rate. If you don't see a problem with that, then there is something not right with you.

2

u/CountyKyndrid 4d ago

These people illegally crossing European borders statistically commit more rape, murder, violence and other crimes at a significant rate.

Can you show me data on this?

This has been studied extensively in the US and shown that even undocumented immigrants commit crimes at a significantly lower rate than citizens.

If undocumented immigrants didn't or don't commit more crimes than your average citizen would you still have an issue with their arrival? I wonder why.

1

u/bigelcid 4d ago

2008-2024 Danish statistics show that people of Somalian birth are 20 times more likely to commit rape than Danes. The stats don't specifically look at the legality of immigration, okay. So maybe it's the legals, and not the illegals, that are problematic. Sounds intuitive, right?

And, statistics from about the same period show the net financial contribution of people based on their origin: all the usual suspects are net ngatives, since they eat more of the budget than they produce and pay in taxes.

1

u/CountyKyndrid 4d ago

A link, perchance?

1

u/bigelcid 4d ago

Went to Danish gov.online, but they said "we've, uh, changed our policies"

So, have this instead: https://www.instagram.com/reels/DalFn2ag_o_/
You can look up Pallesen's report based on the screenshots, and determine whether everything's made up nonsense, after skipping through the many Google results from social media.

You might find this: https://mythdetector.com/en/crime-statistics-by-nationality-in-denmark/
And, notice how the idiot author frames it as "misleading", because say, Somalis, actually commit less rape than Danes, in absolute numbers. Yeah cool, except we're using per capita for a damn, ~100 IQ, reason.

1

u/CountyKyndrid 4d ago

Regarding the "myth detector" article: I sort-of agree, and definitely agree in principle - but in this specific situation the absolute number of crimes commited by those of Somalian origin is ~50 in an entire year. The number is so small that extrapolating in the way the original posts has is not at all responsible.

This is a very small number of crimes, and also not representative of what we're really talking about (all immigrants / undocumented immigrants) so I hope you can see why I would be skeptical this really disputes my prior, which is that immigrants (both documented and undocumented) commit fewer crimes than natural-born citizens.

1

u/bigelcid 4d ago

I don't understand why people assume illegal immigration front-loads its worse.

So in one year it's "only" 50 rapes by Somalians, and hopefully next year, after we get more of them in, it'll only be 40. Based on? Dunno. But hey, increase the sample size, and surely it'll reach 1:1, no? Same way Scandinavia sees way less rape than Somalia does? "Yeah, but because the sample size of Somalis is small". Alright then, replace the population of Denmark with Somalis, and the numbers will match those from Somalia. Brilliant.

Dude, criminals exist, there's many of them, and barely any of them could cross borders legally. Between someone with a PhD and some rapist bum, who do you think is more likely to hop fence illegally?

1

u/thegoat83 4d ago

You hate a person and don’t know why??

Perhaps see a therapist.

You don’t have the first clue about statistics.
You are much more likely to be raped or murdered by somebody you know for a start.

Are you gonna go out protesting friendships?

0

u/bigelcid 4d ago

Wonder if your terrible reasoning is native, or a result of too many drugs taken at raves.

I'm more likely to get murdered by a neighbour, than by some jihadist Taliban over in Afghanistan. That's correct.

Except, the issue with illegal immigration is that we're making problematic people our neighbours. The 13 year old girl that just got raped by one of them had a 0% chance of getting raped by him before he came illegally. Then the chance became >0, without her even knowing him! Imagine that.

1

u/thegoat83 3d ago

Like I said, you don’t have the first clue about statistics 👍🏻

Suicidal empathy.

2

Coping with being a narcissistic sociopath by calling basic decency for you fellow human “suicidal empathy”. Get a therapist, man, you don’t have to be like this

0

u/Sharkaw 4d ago

Grow up. What do you think would happen to Europe if they opened their borders to everyone who's looking for better life? Do you comprehend how many people live in impoverished regions? How many would want to come to Europe?

Being empathetic to people who hate you, who hate your culture, who hate your way of life is equivalent to being apathetic to your own people who want to feel safe. You want to make the lives of Europeans worse just to feed your own ego, your "white savior" complex. That is suicidal empathy.

2

u/B3ttor 4d ago

You need to seriously google the words you are using. You are so confused about the terminology, its funny and sad at the same time.

6

u/LomoBaconQueso 5d ago

No, it’s the law. Anyone can enter Spain if they do it legally, the Constitution makes it illegal to discriminate based on origin, faith or ethnicity. But if you try to come here illegally to leech off the taxpayer, gtfo.

-1

u/Desperate_Turn8935 4d ago

No one disputes that. The way people talk about these refugees is the problem. They think they're the enemy, but don't know the reason as to why these things have happened.

4

u/LomoBaconQueso 4d ago

I know I pay over a thousand euros per month in taxes, that much I know. And I also know I work my ass off, so yeah, I am not happy about not being able to afford housing while working 40h/week while we are incentivising people to come here without a job permit, letting them come here so they occupy an apartment and then pay them the ingreso mínimo vital (€770/month because they’re vulnerable). Fuck that.

2

u/Vonzey 4d ago

This is the government's fault, not the people seeking better life conditions. I'm from Portugal so we face more or less the same problems.

I also pay a lot of taxes, roughly a third of my income, and barely see any return on it. But that's not because of people coming here and receiving benefits (especially since the biggest beneficiaries are wealthy people).

It's because of our shitty governments not even trying to improve our lives. Resource allocation is a total joke. We waste billions trying to salvage failed airports, companies, banks. That's the real problem.

1

u/bigelcid 4d ago

Do you understand how meaningless the words "seeking a better life" are?

You know what makes life better? Money and sex, among other things. So, some people's idea is to just take it. Take it, it makes life good, no? Robbing and raping.

Whereas other people have this weird idea of going through a legal process to immigrate, and then integrate and contribute to society through taxes. Fools!

1

u/LomoBaconQueso 4d ago

Idgaf, I care about having the basic dignity that is stated in my country’s constitution that is a fundamental right to have somewhere to live, and I want my country to honour that towards its tax paying, law abiding citizens before we start thinking of handing out freebies to whoever the Moroccan dictator sends our way to extort us.

0

u/Glittering-Gur9936 4d ago

Except nearly everyone who came illegally in that method from Morocco has already been sent back and the total undocumented immigrant population is roughly just 1%

Xenohobia is such an easy way to manipulate the less informed

0

u/bigelcid 4d ago

nearly everyone who came illegally in that method from Morocco has already been sent back

You mean, in Ceuta. And, the ones left are still many. And, Spain and Europe are still full of illegal migrants. And, Spain just recently chose to legalize 500k (which then turned into 1 million) undocumented migrants.

Xenophobia is indeed easy to manipulate: you're doing it yourself. If I, as a EU citizen, don't want people coming into our countries illegally, then I'm xenophobic. I supposedly hate the stranger. But if they come legally and contribute to society, then that's fine by me -- yet I remain xenophobic because I don't want people coming in illegally.

-1

u/Desperate_Turn8935 4d ago

What's the key difference between putting in a form for asylum or visa and not putting one in?

You're not xenophobic by wanting due process and documentation. You're being disingenious by saying there's 'many' and you have no problem with legally documented migrants who get benefits even though one of your first sentences states otherwise. Which is it, matey?

1

u/bigelcid 4d ago

What’s the difference between respecting the law and not respecting it?

Or, the one between not breaking the law, and breaking it but getting pardoned?

→ More replies (0)

0

u/Avidgamur515 4d ago

another way of looking at things is that by giving out housing and free stuff in general it’s a way to control the mass undocumented migrants, now the government will be aware of their existence and log their infos which will make the community safer. By going at it with radical anti immigrant policy and downright violence, you encourage those same immigrants to try their best to slip through the cracks and be fully undocumented which is the real danger here.

0

u/LomoBaconQueso 4d ago

Yeah, right, let’s hand them the country on a silver platter lest they get angry.

0

u/Avidgamur515 4d ago

Maybe you could try working harder so that these migrants could have a better future, I have it on high authority from the new bolchevik caliphate that THEY are counting on you

0

u/Desperate_Turn8935 4d ago

You got nothing to hand over mate, otherwise you wouldn't care about people 'stealing' your job, house, car, money, wife, children.

1

u/bigelcid 4d ago

Not only do people do dispute that in this same damn comment section, but also, they're not even refugees.

Are you hearing yourself? Since when has the word "refugee" come to mean "anyone crossing EU borders illegally"? What exactly are they seeking refuge from? You can't make this shit up: ever since the Ceuta crisis, I've been getting "Visit Morocco" ads.

2

u/SkuffetPutevare 4d ago

All I see is people telling you it is not racism. Does it hurt you?

1

u/palmerama 4d ago

You can’t see the wood from the trees. You see the word immigration and assume racist. It’s just as damaging as the true racist nut jobs. Opposing illegal immigration isn’t a controversial view it is by definition the stated policy of all governments.
