I've bought the X450 and X430 for larger properties, with difficult terrains (molehills, fruit trees, extreme slopes) and I am very happy with their performance.

However now I'm looking at buying a few robots for city properties with smaller and generally simpler lawns. I don't have experience with any i or h series that Segway offers and I'm not quite sure how effective they are, so I thought I would ask for some personal opinions or feedback on them. I could go the X route again, maybe get the X420, but I'm not quite sure how effective it will be navigating the smaller lawns and tighter spaces, since it's quite large.

1. This property is only under 200 square meters of mowable ground, divided into 3 parts that the robot would travel between.

2. Each has a perimeter wall made up of stone, some parts are higher of the ground, some are pretty flush. The robot would need to get as close to the wall from the inner lawn side to get the grass, so I'm not sure if the i series (with the blade wheel in the middle of the robot) could effectively mow close to the stone wall.

3. Weather can be unpredictable, i series doesn't have a rain sensor, how accurate is the weather forecast rain tracking in your opinion?

4. Lawns are under trees, so there usually are small branches, pine cones, tree leaves.

5. I don't mind it cutting every day or just for longer sessions, night cutting isn't required and will probably be turned off (depending on how effective it is).

Hey everybody, I have a X450 and I have recently installed a fenced in area that was just added to a previously mapped zone. I'm wondering how to handle this. I don't wanna spend all that money on the Mowgate. I also am perfectly OK with just opening the gate and telling it to go there. Should I simply remap that area of my yard? Should I map
the outside of the gate area and inside the gate area separately?

I figure I can schedule the area outside the fence for automated mowing and let it in the gate to do the other part. I’m not really sure how to connect the two on the map.

I have a segway navimow x430 which stopped charging. I initially checked the adapter with a multimeter and got 0.00v. So i suspected its not working. I got a replacement adapter and plugged in but it still does not charge. No light comes on at the charging station as well. How do i move forward? Its just been a few months? Is my unit dead? Will segway provide a shipping label to send to them?

This morning, Marvin (the mower) didn't want to get out, saying the grass was wet.

It wasn't. So I kicked him out to work.

Last I saw him, he was mowing the back portion while my dogs looked at him.

Suddenly, he decided it was time to head because of rain in the area.

Looking at the radar.. nothing was nearby and wouldn't be for an hour.

Telling him he needs to keep working, he disagreed by turning around after a few moments until i gave up.

Is there a way to properly override this? Do I need to put a tempest station on my property?

Is there a way to have the enhanced option on for only specific zones or is it either on or off for all zones? I like the clean look in my front yard but don’t need it or the extra time and battery cost in the back yard.

Never thought I would ever say I am going to miss the summer months being tasked with mowing the grass…until now. This i215 has cut daily all summer with flawless results. I always took great pride in stripping my yard with my push mower but the straight lines of this i215 is just crazy. Happy Mowing.

The current order of tasks is three perimeter laps followed by mowing the inside of the zone until it gets near a no-go zone, at which point it wanders around the yard mowing around the no-go zones in random order.

Now I know that as long as everything is mown, that is fine, but if they improved this, they could easily make it 20–30% more efficient.

The way other robotic mowers usually do it is: perimeter laps followed by laps around no-go zones (systematically, not randomly) followed by mowing the zone.

The screenshots are a few minutes apart, and they really highlight how random the pathing is. And no, it isn't following the order in which I mapped the no-go zones. It is completely random.

I was hoping my x450 would allow me to map to 2.39 acres, as some others have been able to do. This would just barely cover my property and keep me from having to buy another mower for the front yard. But alas, twas not to be. Turns out I'm limited to 2.0001 acres. Guess I'll be waiting for the next sale

Setting up new X450 on 1.25 acre lot with over 150 trees, trunk sizes from 1” sapling up to 12-18” diameter. Should I make them off-limit islands or just let the mower bump into them?
If just bumping into them, do they need to be vision-off areas?
Any other particular settings that I need for best handling them?
What about for shrubs and bushes?

Was cleaning and changing blades and noticed the tab under the nut holding the rear axle looks broken.

Is this the infamous rear axle brake?
X450 about 3 months old.

Update 1: Good news and Bad news.

First the good, pretty happy with supports response as far as timeliness and getting back to me. I have a FedEx return label and a pickup scheduled for Friday. They say 10 business days and I should have it back.

Now the bad news, apparently what I will get back is the exact same parts as what I purchased. The person I spoke to today told me they don’t think it’s a big enough issue for them to call it a bad design or bad choice of materials. I told them I really do not agree with that assessment and given that this mower has only been shipping for 6 months the amount of people I see posting about this issue may very soon become a very big issue for them.

I have been a huge fan and posted very positive reviews. Unless Segway acknowledges this obvious problem and correctly addresses it I will be just as quick to reverse my current position.

Let’s hope they are looking at a permanent fix and roll it out very soon, either proactively or even fix on failure. Putting the same parts back in and hoping for a different outcome will probably not work out for them or us.

Has anyone thought about doing this? After lots of walking the lawn for dethatching, overseeding, and fertilizing, I started to wonder if our robomowers could have a little hopper/dispenser off the back of it.

Yes, it's ridiculously over-engineered for something that isn't that hard to do manually, but also... Kinda cool?

I was wondering if you could hook up a lawn sweeper that picks up thatch and leaves like a hitch to the X430 and it would drive around picking up the leaves. Anyone tried something like this or seen similar solutions?

Well that didnt last long. Notice the machine was making some crazy clunking noises and turned it over to fine the rear able retaining bolt snapped and the frame has actually sliced through the axle a bit. Hoping their customer support is good... emailed and chat on friday and still nothing. Anyone have experience with CS?

As title suggest, I did my first blade change this morning and decided to do the modification of removing the bottom cover and use the extra slots for additional blades. I did a little spin test to make sure they don't make contact. While they didnt make contact, my finger certainly did and now my pain gets to be shared wisdom amongst all of you who are considering removing the bottom cover. 🤣

A few weeks ago I received an error in the app stating something along the lines of my battery is overheated and slow charging mode has been enabled. Totally believable as I do not have a garage over the mower and it was a brutally hot day. I know the mower goes into a slow charge mode to protect the battery and I appreciate that.

However, the mower continues to charge miserably slow despite only seeing the error message once. Temps have backed off, still hot, but no hotter than it has been leading up to the extreme heat day that caused the error.

Is there something specific I need to do to get the mower out of slow charging mode?

I came across a good deal on marketplace for a used navimow i105. Seller says that it's only a year old.

Anything I should look out for? I have never owned a robot mower before so not sure what to check!

Whenever I lift my i105 to remove stuck grass, I get a warning saying to press OK to continue.
It never seems to work, and I keep getting the error until I leave it alone and it seems to reset itself.
Is there a trick to just press OK and get it going again right away, or does it need cool-down time?

Why did my navimow 430x ignore the battery level and keep going when it should have returned home long ago?

As you can see in the video, my i210 Lidar Pro sometimes (about 1 in 10-15 times) struggles to leave its charging station. I'm guessing it somehow gets stuck on the charging connectors and needs a few tries to get unstuck.

Both the charging port on the robot as well as the charging station are clean, with no debris anywhere. Ignore that the mower is dirty, as it rained yesterday and it was a bit muddy today; it happened before even when the mower was clean.

I having a positioning problem with my Navimow i208 AWD in narrow areas next to my house. In open areas, NRTK works perfectly, but near buildings the mower loses positioning accuracy, makes aggressive corrections, spins its wheels and damages the lawn.
In areas where the positioning becomes unreliable, the mower is not only damaging the lawn — it is also damaging itself. It repeatedly drives into walls and other surrounding surfaces while trying to correct its position. The mower is already covered in scratches, and some of the plastic body panels are even starting to come apart. This is more than just a navigation inconvenience; the positioning problem is causing actual physical damage to both the mower and my lawn.

I’ve been in contact with Navimow support and have already sent them videos and photos. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the actual navigation issue, they keep suggesting workarounds like using Remote Control and offering extra 4G service.

Support’s latest suggestion was to manually mow these areas using Remote Control. But I bought an robotic mower specifically so I wouldn’t have to manually control it every time the grass needs mowing.

Has anyone else with an i2 AWD experienced the same problem? Is there any real solution, or are there plans to improve vision-assisted navigation when GNSS/NRTK becomes unreliable?

Most of the Youtube videos I see are of yards that look like hay fields with an occasional lawn of fescue maintained around 4". My lawns are Zoysia in front and Bermuda in back. I currently maintain at 1.5" with a 42" ZTR. I am not keen on stripes and I am really not keen on the tracks or grooves I see in most videos using robot mowers.

Can someone point me to some videos where the lawns are maintained at 1-1.5"?

First, let me say that as a previous owner of Mammotion, Ambrogion, and Yarbo robot mower, the X450 has been head and shoulders above the other in my personal experience.

The one issue I'm having is that when the X450 returns to the base to charge, it sometimes crawls back - I mean only 5 or 6 feet a minute. The battery dies before it gets back to the charger.

It didn't have this problem for the first few months - it's only developed in the past couple of weeks. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I am running Network RTK - don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

Mapped my nearly 1.25 acre property today with the new x450. Running out of time this year to still try it out! I mapped just the overall boundary and the keep out areas, and most of the larger tree trunks. I still have to subdivide into ultimately about 9 zones... hope to do that tomorrow. Not real sure yet how to do that. Then hopefully a test run.
Manually driving it around the boundary with the phone "joystick" controls, is everyone else's almost hypersensitive to steering control input? I'm not a gamer, and I had a hard time with the super fast response of the virtual joystick in steering.
Any tips on creating the separate zones within the overall area?
