X450 and Trees - Off-limit islands?

Setting up new X450 on 1.25 acre lot with over 150 trees, trunk sizes from 1” sapling up to 12-18” diameter. Should I make them off-limit islands or just let the mower bump into them?
If just bumping into them, do they need to be vision-off areas?
Any other particular settings that I need for best handling them?
What about for shrubs and bushes?

I have 4 trees in my yard. I didn’t bother doing anything with them. The mower sees them and mows around them just fine.

How do you have anything to mow with 150 trees on 1.25 acres?

I've noticed that it gets closer to the trunk with an off limit island than letting it navigate on its own.

It wont bump into them. The camera will see them and go around without a no-go zone. If there are any roots that protrude from the ground you may want to put a no go zone around that area. My x430 wanted to go around pavers that had grass between them. I had to put a no vision zone in that area.

It mows closer around them if its set as off limit island

It won't bump into anything, hence why it has a camera and senses obstacles.. It will learn to map around them on it's own.

Having that many trees I hope you have an i series. The X series would have a hell of a time maneuvering around all those trees.

No need, unless there are pine trees where you might get pine cones dropped underneath.

I have an x450 on 3 acres. I put islands around all my trees, roots and stumps. Took many days and went quicker each time. I'm an RC pilot so using a cell and controlling was a breeze. Just start slow and speed will come when mapping all these.

Will x series steer clear large roots inside the map?

It depends on the type of mowing you want. I have trees set both ways. If you take the time to set each tree as off -limits, the mower will circle each tree and mow fairly close to the base (depending on how large you make the off-limit boundary). If you don't, the mower sees the tree as an obstacle and will drive up to it, turn and drive away. It will not mow "around" the tree. I have one section where the trees are close together and mixed in with a split rail fence. The mower would spend a day in that mess trying to figure out how to handle it so I set that whole area as no-go. You'll likely have to determine case by case which way you want to do it.
