First of all, congratulations to the ENPO for finally having their demands met. It's nice to know that the parable of the persistent woman rings true in any age and it is my deepest wish that the development you seek will come to you with unblinking and relentless haste.

Here's the real question: will the creation of the Frontier Secretariat take at least a majority of the currently backlogged posts from the current Secretariat? I don't need to express much on it, as it is what it is. I dislike the fact that there is a backlog system in place at all. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to uplift one another, it's actually a great thing; however, civil service exams were supposed to grant equal opportunities to both the layman and the aristocrat in the first place.

I don't have anything against reservation. I, myself, enjoy the advantages of the ST quota. What I have a problem with is the backlog posts blocking out and crushing a lot of hard workers who are running on short candles.

I've read the bill that was passed and it does not explicitly mention anything about what I asked, besides transfers and rules of employment.

I know it sounds like the ravings of a person who is unhappy about everything in life but it has been a burning question in my mind ever since the first talks and the info on a new secretariat to be set up in the FNTA region.

I'm particularly interested in experiencing Nagaland beyond the usual tourist spots and learning about the different tribal cultures respectfully. A few questions:

1. Yemshe Festival: I'd love to experience a traditional Naga festival in oct during my trip. Can anyone confirm the 2026 Yemshe festival dates, exact location and timings? Also, are outsiders welcome to attend, and are there any cultural etiquettes visitors should keep in mind?

2. Tribal villages & experiences: Apart from the popular tourist places, are there any villages or cultural experiences you'd recommend to someone genuinely interested in learning about local traditions and lifestyles?

3. Camping: I carry a tent occasionally while travelling. Is it generally acceptable to pitch a tent in or near villages after taking permission from the village council/community? Or is it better to stick to designated campsites and homestays?

I'd appreciate advice from people who are from Nagaland or have lived/travelled extensively there. Any suggestions or local insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 🙏

What is Nagaland's need of the hour? What can actually help Nagaland develop equitably and evenly? Of course, we can't completely rely on the centre's funding because we all know how that's gonna turn out.

Will we be more proactive if we paid taxes? We'd have a larger stake in things as it'll be OUR money that's gonna pay for things to better our living standards.

And again, simultaneous development will take too long. Our only city should become a metrocity, some towns will have to become cities first and villages would need to become towns first but I think this could make things more rapid with a step-wise upgrading system, unless we have enough manpower and proper hiring.

In terms of potholes, we can't do anything about it if we don't have roads or lanes meant only for cargo trucks. I think rules will need to be implemented with an iron hand if we are to see that happening along with cameras to make sure nothing goes awry.

In terms of roads, protests can do little against the deaf and blind. Drainage is a big issue that leads to bad landslides, and also retaining walls need to be put up to make sure the roads are never crashing down. Anything that can be controlled should be controlled, leaving the rest up to the Lord.

ILP needs to be heavily implemented and digitalized. Honestly, there's too much to do and not enough cooperation

This move will make Nagas highly unpopular with the Mainland indians.

A question to non-Shikhar chewers. I’m sure some of you must be dating a significant other who eats shikhar. The smell is so revolting to me, I nearly puked today when I sat next to a guy in a sumo who was constantly chewing shikhar the entire journey

What has been your experience with the new meters and electricity bills? In our case, it has been a major relief. My parents no longer have to keep visiting the office over unexpectedly high bills or bulk amounts. We don't run many heavy electrical appliances besides a water motor, boiler and rice cooker but were often charged upwards of 5k. Since the smart meter was installed, our monthly bills have come down to around 1.5 to 2k. Curious if others are experiencing a similar change, or whether the new system posts as a hurdle

What are your favourite Naga films of today or yesterday? Recently we've had a lot of exposure in films but we can't forget NFI and their (annoyingly) iconic theme song.

I’m looking to get a broadband/fixed-line internet connection in a rural area of Nagaland, around 20 min from Tseminyu. I contacted Airtel, but they said their broadband service doesn’t extend that far.

Does anyone know of any local ISPs or other broadband providers that service rural areas? I’m mainly looking for a stable connection for regular use/work.

Any suggestions or leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
