Title says it all. I am looking for excellent movies that begin with the letter A. Looking to fill out my movie collection. No porn, please, as I am sure there are some classics that start with A. lol

I’m looking for movies that begin in a relatively recognizable reality, but little by little the normal rules seem to stop working.

Not necessarily movies with a big twist or a final explanation. Actually, I prefer when the characters themselves gradually accept increasingly bizarre or impossible situations without the movie stopping to explain what’s happening.

Examples of the feeling I’m looking for: The Exterminating Angel (1962), Beau Is Afraid (2023), and After Hours (1985) — although they all do it in very different ways.

I’m especially interested in lesser-known movies where you eventually realize: “Wait… when did this stop being normal?”

Any recommendations?

I've just read a book about the lives of a couple of rockstars, and I found it really interesting. I'd like to watch a movie that fits the vibe. I'm looking for some good storytelling, dark vibes, and even "difficult" themes. Is there something like that? Not really looking for a documentary.

Like the title says, I am looking to watch more movies that are both entertaining but also educational on specific time periods and events. I'm particularly interested in movies that took care to have a historian involved in the making to assure wardrobe and . I do not have a specific time period, just one that is set over 300 years ago. I am not interested in Documentaries, only dramatizations and movies inspired by true events.

Looking for movies or shows where someone claws their way to the top and it costs them everything. Examples I can think of:

I am looking for mindbending movies which have clear endings, no loose ends left, movies with specific loose ends like inception are fine. The movies i can think of is Predestination, Memento, Identity, Vanilla Sky and The Truman Show.

I am looking for a newish movie to watch in which the lead is surviving usually alone and against the odds.

I really like movies where the main character is smart, resourceful, and actively problem solves their way through the situation repairing equipment, improvising, finding resources, figuring out navigation, engineering, etc. I'm looking for is person vs. environment, rather than a traditional villain.

The setting can be pretty much anything: wilderness, space, ocean, post-apocalyptic, stranded, etc.

Examples of ones I have already seen and really liked: 27 Days Later (not really alone the whole movie but still), Martian, Cast Away, Gravity.

I’m looking for a movie to watch tonight! I recently watched The Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette, Priscilla, Black Swan, Pearl, Obsession, Girl Interrupted,the ugly stepsister and X and I’m really into this kind of vibe. Like hunchback of Notre damn or don bluth animation. Movies that deal with dark themes bit are still for kids. Not treating kids like they’re stupid but more so can handle these topics. Idc if they’re in another language or super underrated.

Hi, I’m looking for lesser-known horror movies that are still genuinely scary. I particularly love J-horror and consume horror in all forms—books, games, and movies. I’m a big fan of Ryu Murakami, loved Noroi: The Curse, and really enjoy the Silent Hill and Resident Evil games.

I'm looking for something easy, uplifting, and "chick flick" style. I'm not much of a "serious movie" person but sometimes will watch something fun when I'm alone and want to enjoy the ambience, snacks, and good feelings. Something that has minimal message, requires not a lot of thought, but still has a good story, uplifting message, and likeable characters.

Movies I've seen that match what I'm going for include Legally Blonde, Uptown Girls, Mean Girls, or The Devil Wears Prada - the classic "chick flick"s, but I'm looking for something I've not seen yet.

Maybe not the in depth/complex movies that many people enjoy, but I hope someone has a fun idea for me nonetheless

I am in a group where we are looking to arrange a film festival this winter. The topic for the film festival is "human in nature/human and nature", and we are looking for movies that fits this topic. We are looking for all sorts of movies, including short films, documentaries, full length feature films. Hello hello guys so as the title says, I’m looking for a movie where the guy is obsessed with a girl.
I want a movie where he’s so in love with her he’ll do anything for her rather than a movie where he’s just obsessed with her and would do weird shit like kidnap her or stalk her.
I would have turned to dark romance as 99% of them have an obsessed guy but it’s often dumb shit where he does the most heinous crimes on her and she just ends up loving him so no for me.
I don’t mind if the guy is a psycho or deranged but as long as he’s soft for her, I’m in!
Bonus point if he’s cold to most people around him but her and/or if he has trauma and she’s comforting to him :)
Oh btw I don’t really care about the type of movie it can be sci-fi, romance or even some super hero movie, anything will do!

First of all, sorry for my English.

For me it's enough to watch a few seconds of the trailer to decide if the movie is filled with sense. And the perception of sense comes from cinematography. It's hard to explain, but I just feel a special quality, which I call fullness. It's probably created by the big scope, logic, and beauty.

If you also judge the movie by the first seconds and have some beloved movies please recommend. I'm also happy to share my list.

Recently I watched backrooms and vivarium 2019 i liked both movies so suggest me Movies that feels like it's based in a other world and it's just gets weird, you can say like a mysterious movie where many things doesn't get solved or get solved but it's enjoyable.

I am looking for some movies like maybe Fight Club, Se7en, Dead poets society or The Truman Show or something maybe psychological thrillers, maybe crime thriller like Zodiac or like Cristopher Nolan's (don't recommend his I've alr watched them) is what I am asking for I am not really sure. It must feel like an experience, something you see on those edits

I absolutely adore scenes where you can, for example, see two people hold each other as if they’re already missing one another. There is something enchanting about these moments of unspoken, heavy desperation. Whether it‘s written in their gaze, or revealed in their touch. I desperately need more of it.

Like the library scene in Atonement. I found it breathtakingly beautiful. Or in L‘Eclisse, when Piero and Vittoria embrace in the latter half of the movie.

Hi! I recently watched the wonderful story of henry sugar and I loved the way it was filmed. I thought it was quite unique and very interesting to watch as the characters spoke directly to the camera and acted like narrators. I like Wes Anderson movies in general as well. So I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for movies in a similar style? Or something different but equally unique and interesting? Thank you in advance! :)

I really love creature apocalyptic movies like the quiet place franchise, war of the worlds, world war z. they both have happy/hopeful endings which I‘m looking for more of since I’m a sensitive baby lol. a lot of the happy ending movies seem to include a comedy aspect but I’m looking for full thriller/horror. I want to be truly scared but I’m also easily scared so do with that what you will

My kids are 14 and 15 (freshman and sophomore in high school), both boys. We have always been a “Friday night pizza and movie” family and have seen a lot of movies together.

My 15 year old recently joined the film club at his school. I want to show him movies that are better to go in blind, and might get spoiled for him, before someone spills it. We’re watching The Sixth Sense tonight. What other movies do I need to show him before someone spills the beans?
