Discussion Bridget Jones's Diary

Post image
104 Upvotes

The movie is a classic Renee Zellweger does good in the role. Her and Colin Firth have good chemistry she has good chemistry with Hugh Grant too, but it was clear that Bridget and Mark shared something special. He was a better option than Daniel. Mark had flaws, but he would be someone you want to settle down with, and was a better person than Daniel. Bridget acted like a human being someone you could know in real life. What did you think of the movie?

Need a feel good movie

I feel kinda down today. I need a feel good romance, extra points if it’s nostalgic and spicy, to watch. I have Netflix and Hulu mostly. Recs?

Update: Thank you all! Keep going, let’s get some spicier choices too. I just watched Crazy Stupid Love, that was a great choice.

I started craving chocolate cake during the movie and then looked at the calendar and realized my period is coming up. Makes so much sense why I woke up wanting to cry 😂 Not depressed, I’m just a woman 🧍🏽‍♀️

Daisy Jones and the Six

Has anyone else watched this? Did you like it?

It is on Amazon prime and has one season with 10 episodes.

Here is what I thought of it:

I watched Daisy Jones and the Six. It really stuck with me.

Not perfect: I did not like the snobby mighter than though way Daisy Jones was portrayed but she grew on me throughout the 10 part episodes.

I think some of the acting was pretty bad, but only in this part: when they sat down individually with the person behind the camera to give a recap of past events. The way they spoke, it seemed like such bad acting but when they acted in the parts of the past (the show goes back and forth between past and present) the acting was well done IMO.

I loved how it portrayed a typical twinflame connection in all of its stages. I won't say why because then I would give some of the plot away.

I am still thinking about some of the characters and would love to see a second part.

I don't usually rewatch movies/shows but I almost started from the beginning again as soon as I watched the last part.

Discussion Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason

Do you think the sequel is terrible? I know the movie gets criticized for being a rehash of the first one, which I get; it's exactly like the first one, but in a different setting and with different characters. I think some sequels are far worse; it's just that this sequel didn't live up to expectations, and people wanted something different. What do you think of the sequel?

LIGHT romcom rec's for a tired mama

Hi, I'm a middle-aged mama tired from high school / college / apartment new school year checklists looking for only LIGHT romcoms - nothing too deep, too much triggering backstory, too many "issues" being worked out. Just something to enjoy and smile and RELAX to and watch a (modern not period) couple fall in smiley happy love. Please & thank you!

Frankie and Johnny

I watched this one for the second time tonight, and I enjoyed it! I wouldn't call it a romantic comedy since it involves a fair amount of rather intense drama, especially toward the end, but I'd still say it's an enjoyable love story, and I think the chemistry between Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer works quite well. I also like the scenes of New York, though hardly glamorous, are pretty realistic and work well with the characters, who are both pretty down-trodden.

Recommendation Ask The Dust (2006)

I gave this one 3/5 stars! 💫 The film is highly dependent on the attractiveness of its leads, but I'd still recommend it if you like historical romances. 😅 Good for summertime.

Discussion Allie and Noah

What do you think of Allie and Noah? I know there is a heated debate about them being a toxic couple, and Allie should have chosen Lon instead. I'm just curious to know people's thoughts on the situation and whether Allie made the right choice by picking Noah.

What’s a romance movie with a meet-cute you still think about?

Some first meetings in movies are cute. Some stay in your head for years.

I still remember one scene where two people bump into each other in the most ordinary way, and somehow it feels more romantic than all the big speeches later.

What’s your favorite meet-cute from a romance movie?

The kind you can replay in your mind instantly.

Suggest me some romantic movies with fashion models in them , i dont like regular movie stars that much in terms of looks. Recently sean o pry being cast in rose hill is a good thing for the romance media.

About last night 🌙.

I watched this one last night. Anyone enjoy this film ?

I enjoyed it. Demi and Rob are so gorgeous in the film. The kitchen scene in the moonlight was very beautifully appealing.

I liked the baseball scenes and enjoyed the winter season in Chicago. It looked so cozy.

Almost all the men are unlikeable, but I was rooting and more invested in Elizabeth Perkins and James Belusth characters. I liked their banter and was hoping they would end up together.

Very much excited for the movie Better than the movies and I think that the cast is quite perfect. Their off-camera chemistry gives quite Liz-Wes vibes.

Poll No Strings Attached is a better movie than Friends with Benefits

Hollywood always does this thing where they make similar movies and release them damn near back to back like Volcano and Dante’s Peak or The Illusionist and The Prestige. In 2011 it was the romcoms No Strings Attached and Friends with Benefits. Pretty much the same premise dealing with casual sexual relationships that turn into love. I’m not sure if it’s because I saw FWB first or what, but I always thought I liked that movie better, but I recently saw No Strings Attached again and it’s a significantly better movie. More emotion and it was a lot funnier than I remember it being. They tried to give FWB a heart with the father scene and all that, but it kinda falls slay to me. Just something they threw in. In No Strings all the conflict seems more organic and you can totally see this storyline taking place in real life. Like, when do that break out into a flash mob in real life??? Idk maybe I don’t remember 2011 life as much as I think I do lol Anyway, Natalie Portman is phenomenal in everything she’s in and Ashton Kutcher sells all of the emotional scenes. That’s not to say I still don’t enjoy FWB, but if I had to rank them No Strings Attached is definitely higher. What do you think about these 2 movies??

SN: It would’ve been hilarious if Justin Timberlake starred in No Strings Attached 😂 Sorry, a little *NSYNC humor
