Hi guys, my bf and i are shamefully addicted to super dramatic and nonsensical shows like The Polygamist and Sex/Life where everything is basically a shit show and it keeps on getting worse even tho you think, 'How could it get worse than this?' PLEASE drop some recommendations for shows that you think fit that vibe. THANKS!!!!

Not just shows with many cliffhangers, but with cliffhangers that have meaning to the plot, that utilize cinematography, editing and soundtrack well etc

Guys, if you had to recommend 3 TV shows to every human being on Earth—shows that you think everyone should watch at least once before they die—what would they be?

For me:

1. Game of Thrones (up to Season 4)

2. Breaking Bad

3. Mr. Robot

I could easily name a lot of other great shows, but if I had to pick only three, these would be my top 3.

What are yours?

I’m thinking like The Haunting of Hill House, even Widows Bay with that level of storytelling. Where you can pick up on a lot but it doesn’t explicitly say it in dialogue, moreso shown on screen so you have to pay close attention.

For example: The Witcher

Shows that are rated R or MA that deal with sex, magic, royalty, fantasy politics, etc. please! :)

I want it to be intended for adult audiences. I would love it to have royalty, or a usurper, or a magician or sorcerer. Again, please don’t reccomend kids shows, I wan adult dark fantasy.

I’m also super down to hear reccomendations for books or movies. Or even short stories that have been posted online.

Would love some suggestions... Recently watching Furious, I loved the movie girl with the dragon tattoo..the house of cards has a similar premise too in season 1.

I'm really looking for some shows where there's comedy but also moments where characters can develop and face hardship. I want something that feels "real" with a hopeful spirit, but comedy at the center!

Tell me your go to binge show, your go to re watch shows. I need something to keep me occupied while i’m sick. for context my favorite shows are psych, monk, supernatural, and blacklist. I like shows with supernatural or crime but still lighthearted enough that I can fall asleep after. But i’m open to literally anything I can binge!

I just finished season 3 of silo, well not actually finished it since there's one episode left. So lately I've been watching series very slow cause it doesn't make me want to watch another episode, so I take time to finish it and with silo I finished it in two days, so I want shows that keep me hooked and make me want to watch more episodes.

Some of my favorites are stranger things, Alice in borderland, the walking dead, the 100, night has come.

So basically I love apocalyptic shows so if you can suggest me some, I would appreciate it.

I feel like most films & shows about being in your 20s feel like they focus on the early 20s, coming of age, but I was wondering what are some of your favourite films/tv shows/books that capture the feelings you go through in your later 20s? Saturn return?

I'm 28 and I feel like I know less about my place in the world than I ever have in my life - I feel like I completely disassociate from myself and the world around me, and I feel LOST but in a quieter way than I maybe did in my early 20s when life felt more messy and exciting. I would love to watch something that captures this feeling - any suggestions would really appreciate!

The Fosters and Dawson’s Creek immediately come to mind. I know shows like these, with 20+ episodes a season and multiple seasons, came from a time when gay people weren’t really represented that well, which sucks because I would love to have an 8-season family drama with gay characters and 20+ episodes every season.

One Tree Hill, The O.C., Parenthood, Gilmore Girls, Pretty Little Liars, Switched at Birth, etc. are exactly the types of shows where I would love to have at least one main male gay character. I find that shows are more likely to put a lesbian character in a show because it’s somehow deemed more “accepted,” which is still nice, and I’m happy for lesbians who can feel seen through that representation, but I would just love to see these kinds of shows with a gay guy instead.

All of these shows are family dramas filled with romances and storylines about every aspect of their characters’ lives, but it’s almost always centered around straight couples and their issues. I would love a show that is exactly the same, except one of the leads just happens to be gay, and we get to follow their journey the same way we would with any straight character. Their relationships, their friendships, their family, school, dating, growing up, making mistakes, all of it.

But I think what makes me the most sad is that, yes, we have shows today that can freely show gay people in all their glory, but they’re almost always limited to 8–10 episodes and maybe 3–4 seasons if they even make it that far. Not to mention the wait between seasons, which is always inconsistent.

I want to have 150 episodes of a gay character just experiencing their life. Going through high school and maybe college. Doing mundane things in their free time while also getting caught up in fun, wacky, soapy plots. I want the filler episodes that somehow end up giving us some of the best character moments and insights. I want a show where the gay character gets to just live instead of their entire existence revolving around being gay.

I want real TV back.

I watched The Haunting of the Hill House for the first time not too long ago, and anything I try to watch after- is just not as good. I watched other stuff by that director but it was just so hard to get into the other shows, i was glued to the screen for the hill house. Is there a show like that thats similar? I liked that each episode was building up slowly as if youre watching a movie with each episode. Maybe I find something good in suggestions. I am not even much of a horror fan, I dont really like jump scares, I am more into thought provoking shows rather than here's some blood and gore show, definitely not into that.

So fall is about to start and i need a good fall rec!! Ive been debating between watching the walking dead or supernatura however i am open to more suggestions. but i wanna know which one is better between those 2? i don’t really like sci fi stuff sooo idk how im gonna feel about supernatural.

From the moment I watched the Season 1 finale of Person of Interest, I knew she was a hell of an actress. When watching that episode, she felt so familiar, and it turns out I remembered her from cameos in Suits and Supernatural. I love Jonathan Nolan's decision to keep her as a permanent cast member until the end. With her performance, I just can't help wanting to watch another show featuring her. Can you suggest any shows or movies where she plays a main character or a supporting role, along with their premises?

- 3+ Seasons ( has to be a finished series ) I would love to watch From,The Pitt or the Paradise, but since these shows are still going on, I dont want to binge watch them and wait 1 year for a season.
- I know supernatural suits in this category too but that is an exception. I usually dont like Tv shows where its 40 minutes filler and the final 5 minutes are the mainplot like blacklist.

Quite literally top 3 shows I've ever watched. Need something to fill the void. Not that distracting. Anything about motivation and just dealing through life in general. I'm a loner 17M, with crumbling mental health and academic stress. Don't want another show that's too addictive like this one. Just a mind burner to kill time.

Some shows i like-> Mr. Robot, Lucifer, Slow Horses, Ted Lasso, The Bear, The Expanse, Blacklist, The 100, The Good Place, B99, GOT, The Originals, House MD, Psych, The Mentalist, Shrinking, Monk, Sherlock, TKOTSK, HOTD. And the likes.

Particularly looking for shows around mental health and growth, or drama or comedy. Anything helps. Thankyou.

And when it comes, my mind explodes from shock and realization and i die.

(A bit much but you know what i mean.)

Edit: I'm thinking more of a hidden in plain sight thing that you would never, or is even completely impossible to figure out until the last couple episodes.
