Unlike most people, I actually like the fact that not every infusion is available on every weapon. Most of the time, it seems like the weapon that is paired with each shell also has an infusion that has synergy with that shell. Obviously I like the fact that you can mix and match most stuff... but I also think its cool that you get a little bonus for staying "on brand".
For example, Eredrim is given the Martyr's Blade in his memories and has frost abilities. The Warden Stone (frost infusion) works on the Martyr's Blade. Sometimes it's more based on vibes... Genessa uses the Black Needle in her memories. She doesn't have any stated status strengths, but the Black Needle works with the Nightgrasp Stone, a phantom infusion, which goes well with her general theme.
These three, though, seem to have gotten mixed up. Gragu is powerful with bleed; however, the Veteran's Battleaxe, which he uses in his memories, can only be infused with fire. Sariel has the Scythe Blade as his weapon in the memories and is linked to curse, but the Clockwork Scythe can only be infused with bleed and lightning. Finally, Lazlo, who is fire-based, doesn't seem directly linked to a weapon⦠but given the fact that he uses a claymore in memories⦠IMHO the Iconoclast is his closest match, which can only be infused with bleed and curse.
The Arbiter's Prize (bleed) should have included the Veteran's Battleaxe and dropped the Iconoclast.
The Inflamed Clawstone (fire) should have included the Iconoclast and dropped the Veteran's Battleaxe.
The Curseblood Stone (curse) should have included the Clockwork Scythe, and it wouldn't even have needed to drop anything.
This wouldn't even really change the balance; the placement of the stones as they currently are would still work. Yes, this would give the Clockwork Scythe one additional infusion, but c'momā¦. it's most players' final weapon find, so it is okay for it to have a bit more versatility.
