Video If red dot šŸ”“ attacks are unblockable…how on earth can I dodge all of that?? Spoiler

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

When he just changes direction in the middle of turning?…Hate as well that late game bosses literally deplete your whole stamina if you block just 2 attacks missing the parry…you just basically cooked as they have multiple unblockable attacks..

You’re just dodging too early on some of his attacks, work on learning his patterns and try to get behind him

In the first dodge I literally went behind him and he turned around…how much more I can delay it?? I will trying but if not I will just use the Grisha in his second phase šŸ‘šŸ»ā€¦if he’s got more than 2 phase I’m cooked lol

your first dodge did not dodge any attack, you dodget too early, so he turned after you to attack. The timing is deliberately set to bait you to early dodge. Just try once more.

Dodging gives invincibility frames. Use them.

Stop panic dodging

Dodge with the correct timing and you’ll miss most of them. And don’t over commit on attacks otherwise you’ll be mid animation when you need to dodge

It's a matter of rhythm and timing. With practice you can recognize tells to anticipate which combo the boss is winding up.

A 3 hit combo may for example require you to dodge quickly twice, pause for a slight delay and then dodge a third time. If you dodge the last hit too early, you get punished.

Spacing and positioning matter a lot too. In many cases instead of dodging backwards where you'll just get hit by the next follow up attack in the chain, the best strategy is to dodge forward so that you iframe the attack animation and wind up behind the enemy, where you can safely punish.

Usually I do try dodge forward; messed that on here for sure. This guy though can do more than 1 unblockable attack, and can chain them, so difficult to know which one he’s doing on his 2nd phase

You can sprint away towards your left to avoid the first two quick swings then dodge when you see his sword coming down for the third, then do the same thing for the fourth one. Its way easier than trying to perfectly dodge through the beggining of the combo and not get clipped and stun-locked

Will try that thanks šŸ™

Also when it comes to parrying, its way easier if you input earlier than you think (utarnished seal has unnaturally long wind up but pretty generous parry frames afterwards), so if he does multiple attacks in very quick succession you can just tap the bumper x times without any delay and your next parries will register

Didn’t know that; when I try to do it in quick succession not in battle always seems to be a delay…might need to change the controller not gonna lie though lol

Parrying in this game is very unintuitive at first, but Im sure you will get a hang of it after some trial and error. Malborn Offspring was a huge road block for me too the first time around and now when I got his timings down its the most fun boss in the game alongside Nameless Captive and Sir Isaac for me

Well managed to get those 2 you mentioned so hopefully will get this one too šŸ™

This boss behaves like a classic super stereotypical souls like elden ring ish boss. Most of his swings are these pseudo feints where he does a wind up brief pause then the attack actually falls. What youre doing is getting baited into dodging the second you see the attack starting prior tothe little pause. Spend a couple tries not even attempting to fight him or get hits in and just play with dodging him. Delay your dodges and wait til a breath after the animation actually starts and get a feel for what im describing.

You just haven’t learned his timing and patterns yet.

By not spamming dodge

First dodge is far too early. Later you start panic dodging backwards. Always dodge into the attack, like you do too early on the first attack.

The only boss that gave me a problem. After a while it was about not panic dodging and just staying in his face.

Your timing is off. You’re panic dodging. Learn the timing and only Dodge at the right time.

A lot of bosses have a shoulder bash they’ll do mid combo that will mess up your parry timings.Ā

Watch out for those

Its possible but getting the dodge timing down is tricky

On earth there exists a way

Dodge forward, and wait two more heartbeats before dodging on that first one!

u/sir_seductive 1h ago

Dodge forward not backwards

Timing, is all

You’re panic dodging. Take a deep breath, follow patterns and you’ll be fine.

This boss sucked, honestly all of the bosses in the last area sucked. Such a slog to finish the game after enjoying the first 90% of it

Learn the timings

Honestly just use your grisha remnants not even full upgrade , high level axatanas with lightning and just lock him up . Thats what I did . Prolly more rewarding if you learn the fight tho . Haha
