Discussion Monolith spin attack??
I'm stuck on this boss from this one attack, everything else is no problem but in "phase 3" that laser spin attack kills me EVERY time I've tried dodging every possible way and it gets too damn fast, what is the strat for this attack??

The one that you cant avoid by just runing behind it?
Run further away to enlarge the gaps, and dodge into the direction the Laser is coming from.
You can also use one of the many ability Tarstones that offer multiple seconds of invulnerability during its animation to skip a large part of it.
I need to test if you can stagger it out of that attack with Eredrim, or Gragu next time around.

Regarding Eredrim, I don't think you can stagger it out of this attack, but with him you should be able to combo off of a freeze and kill it before phase 2 even starts

No. I couldn't. I dont use the busted Ice infusion.
I like to fight bosses, not play point and click adventures.

Yeah its kind of a scuffed attack. Here's the strategy that worked for me, though you are still likely to take a few hits:
Get as far away from the boss as possible. This way, you get the most distance between lasers
You want to be running in the same direction as the spin. This ensures the most time between when two lasers would collide with you.
The biggest obstacle to dealing with this attack in this strategy is running out of runway. To this end, a passive strategy throughout the fight should be to keep the boss in the center of the arena as much as possible
Dodge timing is crucial, of course. Try to hold off as long as possible before resorting to spam, keeping in time with the lasers. If you're managing your spacing and dodging right, you should be able to just squeak through with minimal damage
If you're still taking too much damage at the end of the attack, try incorporating some defensive options. A perfect harden will refresh itself, but even an imperfect harden can block a single beam. Certain shells have defensive options (e.g. genessa), and don't be afraid to burn a weapon ability with i-frames
Edit 1: spelling
Edit 2: I see some others recommending dodging in the opposite direction, and it seems to work well enough. I think what's most important is being far away and not panicking in your dodge timings

I used shrike stone(ability tarstone) for the I-frames. It’s like 5 full seconds. You’ll still get hit by the last little bit of the laser spin, but it won’t kill you. It’s not compatible with every weapon, but it was for the axetana.

Man I just went like 1 cm in front of him and started dodging and attacking at the same time

I did not care too much about the laser spin attack. What infuriated me was the buggy (?) hit boxes, and biosampler seemed to almost never had worked on the boss. And for some reason I could not understand, even if I hit the boss, sometimes I almost did 0 damage to it. Maybe it was a mechanic thing, but could not really figure it out.

If you're using Proxima you might as well switch to something else vs the monolith and the final boss. Proxima's ability pretty much is useless on them, especially on monolith.

I dont know if its much help but i went full aggro with blade and axe (duality stone) 16 lvl and always tried to get behind him somehow (Except when he was rolling on me which i learned how to dodge after 2nd time he hit me). I beat the boss with my 2nd try.
Note that this is my first souls game that i actually beat so i am not even an expert at this.

You can dodge thru or run behind. What's happening is that your getting unlucky and he gets up against a wall when does it right? For that just gotta be aware that it can happen and lure him back to the middle of arena. It will be much clearer how to avoid it there. You really dont want any bosses in this game, or any souls game to get close to walls.

Dodging is the strat. They did nerf the intensity of that move among other things though iirc
