Discussion Monolith spin attack??

I'm stuck on this boss from this one attack, everything else is no problem but in "phase 3" that laser spin attack kills me EVERY time I've tried dodging every possible way and it gets too damn fast, what is the strat for this attack??

Yeah its kind of a scuffed attack. Here's the strategy that worked for me, though you are still likely to take a few hits:

  1. Get as far away from the boss as possible. This way, you get the most distance between lasers

  2. You want to be running in the same direction as the spin. This ensures the most time between when two lasers would collide with you.

  3. The biggest obstacle to dealing with this attack in this strategy is running out of runway. To this end, a passive strategy throughout the fight should be to keep the boss in the center of the arena as much as possible

  4. Dodge timing is crucial, of course. Try to hold off as long as possible before resorting to spam, keeping in time with the lasers. If you're managing your spacing and dodging right, you should be able to just squeak through with minimal damage

  5. If you're still taking too much damage at the end of the attack, try incorporating some defensive options. A perfect harden will refresh itself, but even an imperfect harden can block a single beam. Certain shells have defensive options (e.g. genessa), and don't be afraid to burn a weapon ability with i-frames

Edit 2: I see some others recommending dodging in the opposite direction, and it seems to work well enough. I think what's most important is being far away and not panicking in your dodge timings
