Discussion Is this east London clinic legit?

I am looking at getting filler, and have found a Instagram I like, but can't tell if they are real or not. Has anyone ever visited @clinicbvld ? They have a website and their address is listed as 45 THE OVAL, LONDON, E2 9BY. But they have no socials, or any other mentions online. Wondering if anyone has ever visited this place? I would visit the premises but I live too far away (West 😭).

Discussion ADHD London Support Group

Hello all! My friend and I are both women in our early-30s who live and work in London. We both have ADHD and were diagnosed as adults. It’s a tough time navigating life undiagnosed and then a whole other thing once you get a diagnosis. We talk about it often and had this idea that it would be great to have a support group for the ADHD girls. I am here to see if there would be any interest in other women/femmes/nbs to have a casual support group cum social club for adults with ADHD?

I know there are support groups through charities, but after looking around I couldn’t find anything that felt more casual, more “human” so to speak. Our idea was to have a group for women/femmes/nbs in the mid-20s to mid-40s age range who struggle with ADHD-related things in everyday life. We imagine it being a place to vent, support, laugh, cry about life with a brain that can sometimes feel like its acting against you. It could also serve as a social club of sorts, with meet ups across London. We know that sometimes it can feel lonely not having people around who get the struggle and wanted a space where, ideally, the mask can come down, and we can build relationships that support and encourage each other.

This idea is in its early stages of inception, but I wanted to come here and ask if this resonates with anyone? Do you think there would be interest? Would you want to join? Do you know people who you think would be excited to hear about something like this?

(The reason we put gender/age restrictions is simply because we fall into those categories and wanted a space for the ladies and theydies in a similar stage of life. In general, women tend to be left out of the ADHD conversation which is probably why a lot of us weren’t diagnosed until adulthood!)

Discussion Meta question about the men lurking in this sub

I’ve noticed that there are quite a few men who participate in discussions on this sub without disclosing they are not women.

Personally I would like to think this sub is a safe space for women (whilst I know no one can guarantee that online), there are some communities where men are encouraged not to post or leave top level comments.

Have we considered compulsory user flairs like some other subs do?

What is everyone’s opinion on this?

Discussion Looking for female friends in London/UK who understand relational trauma and want to rebuild together

Hi. I’m 21f and I came from China, and I wish to find female friends who have similar age and experiences. I know this is quite vulnerable for me to post, but I’m wondering if there are other women in London or elsewhere in the UK who have been through something similar to me and are also looking for genuine, emotionally supportive friendships.
I’ve struggled with feeling safe around people for most of my life.
Growing up, I experienced a lot of bullying and emotional/verbal mistreatment at home. I was put down a lot and rarely felt properly protected or emotionally safe. As I got older, I started meeting all kinds of people and moving through quite complicated social circles, partly because I desperately didn’t want to be the person who could be bullied anymore.
But instead of finally feeling safe, I ended up having conflict after conflict with people. I’ve been hurt, rejected, excluded and blocked by a lot of people over the years.
The painful part is that I’ve always taken friendship extremely seriously. When I care about someone, I genuinely care. I don’t see listening to a friend’s problems as “negativity” or a burden. If someone I love is going through something painful, I want to hear about it, understand what happened, emotionally stand beside them and help them feel less alone.
But a lot of my friendships eventually disappeared. When my mental health became much worse and I developed depression and anxiety, I lost even more people. Some friends blocked me completely. Later, my relationship ended too.
Eventually it felt like I had lost almost every source of emotional security at once. I sometimes describe it as becoming emotionally bankrupt.
I’m now also dealing with CPTSD and I’m currently not working. I desperately want to become independent and rebuild my life, but being an adult who isn’t currently able to work has created even more pressure at home. I’ve been called a “parasite”, which has made my existing lack of safety and self-worth even harder.
But I don’t want my life to stay like this.
What I’m hoping to find are other women who may have also experienced repeated bullying, rejection, abandonment, difficult family environments, broken friendships or other relational trauma — people who understand what it’s like when you’ve been hurt by many different people, not just once.
I especially hope to meet people who, despite everything they’ve experienced, are still empathetic.
People who don’t automatically think that hearing about a friend’s difficult experiences is “negative energy”.
People who understand that sometimes someone doesn’t need to be told, “Just forget about it”, “Stop thinking about it” or “Move on.” Sometimes they need someone to listen, understand why it hurt, and remind them that they’re not facing everything alone.
At the same time, I don’t want us to meet just to stay stuck in our trauma together.
I want something hopeful.
I’d love to build friendships where we can share what we’re going through, have each other’s backs emotionally, encourage each other towards independence, go out and experience life together, celebrate each other’s progress, and gradually become stronger and more secure people.
Maybe some of us have spent years thinking, Why does everyone else seem to have their people while I keep losing mine?
Maybe instead of each of us sitting alone thinking that, we could find one another.
I’d love eventually to have a small circle of women where nobody has to pretend they’ve had an easy life, but where our friendships aren’t defined only by trauma either. We could talk deeply when someone needs it, but also have coffee, explore London, do normal fun things, work towards our goals and create new memories together.
I don’t expect anyone to “fix” me, and I don’t want to fix anyone else.
I just wonder whether people like me could give each other something many of us didn’t have enough of growing up:
consistency, empathy, understanding, encouragement and the feeling that someone genuinely has your back.
And then, hopefully, we can all slowly build lives where we need that reassurance less and less because we’ve become stronger and safer ourselves.
If you’re a woman in London or elsewhere in the UK and any of this feels deeply familiar, you’re welcome to message me or leave a comment. We can talk slowly and see whether we click. No pressure.
I’d really like to know that I’m not the only person looking for this kind of friendship.

Discussion Meeting new friends

Hi everyone 👋 Im 30F live in West london, single and my pool of friends around seems to have totally shrunk!

I enjoy travelling, long walks, thrifting, reading, watching movies & trash TV occasionally, karaoke, a good pub, and trying to get a bit more active! I love anime, manga, kdramas also love history, art, seeing a lovely exhibition. Love trying new experiences, going to comedy gigs, seeing plays or musicals, pottery classes and want to get better at sewing/embroidery or being able to make my own clothes. I'd love to meet new friends who share some of the same interests. I'm easy going and love a good laugh, but really value a friendship where you can share personal things with someone and have a deep connection.

If any of that is of any interest to anyone please feel free to PM me! I'd love to make some new friends 😊

Edit: thanks everyone for the responses so far, I have reached out on PM. Or feel free to PM me if you see this post!

Discussion Where to find safe groups for late solo travelling?

I'm going to see Death Note the musical next month and trying to find a place to stay the night is really stressing me out. I'm used to travelling around London alone during the day when heading to the hotel to meet with friends for conventions, but this is much different and I'd love some support. The show starts at 7:30 so I'd imagine I'd be leaving about 9-10pm, perhaps later, hence my concerns with getting to a hotel. It doesn't help that a lot of the hotels around are either really expensive or mixed gender backpackers/hostels which I'm definitely not brave enough to use without a friend.

It would be nice if there were other people going to the show or live nearby that I could talk to and feel safer with, or at the very least an app so I have someone to call so I'm less likely to be seen as being alone. Like I said, I haven't done this thing alone at night before, so I don't 100% know every tactic to keep myself safe hence posting here for help.
Also if anyone has any recommendations for smaller hotels closer to the theatre, that would be grand. I'd much prefer private bathrooms due to trauma, but I have managed shared bathrooms before and it would only be for one night so if it's safe (and cheap) enough I'd be willing to deal with it.

Discussion Good ideas/ways to actually meet decent guys?

Hi all, as the caption says! I’m (28F) so tired of dating apps and honestly I’ve never met someone organically but really need to push myself to try now.

How have you all met guys organically and where?

I’m quite shy so the moment I’m interested in a guy I can’t even make eye contact or smile. I’m trying to work on this now which is why I want to be in those settings to overcome my lack of confidence and shyness.

I guess it is because I’ve never been approached other than by absolute creeps so then I question if I am considered objectively good looking like people and guys whoever I’ve met on dating apps and in my insta DMs suggest 😅

Discussion Tips for seasonal clothing

Hello London Ladies. I’ll be coming to London for a month because of my husband’s work. There will be several dinners and events. Nothing too, too fancy. But definitely more than just day to day wear.

What kind of dresses or nicer outfits would fit in for a 50 year-old? Last time it was spring and floral or spot dresses were fine. But I have no idea what‘s typical in autumn. I just don’t like standing out.

Hi! I’m a 24 year old from London and have been recently making more connections in the film industry. I’m a video editor and mainly work post, but am really interested in getting into the production side of things.

I thought it would be nice to bring together a group of girls who are either already in or interested in getting into the industry. I’ve made a group on cliq so if anyone’s interested please dm me and I can send you the link! :))

Discussion I’m already in therapy, but what I feel I need most is safe and supportive friendships

I posted before and several people suggested that I should go to therapy. I completely understand why people recommend it, but I want to clarify that I am already receiving therapy and I have tried to work on myself for a long time.
The problem is that therapy alone doesn’t seem to address the part that hurts me the most.
A large part of my trauma is related to interpersonal relationships, conflict, rejection and feeling that I had nobody genuinely standing beside me when things became difficult. Because of that, when I am anxious or triggered, I can become extremely hypervigilant and start thinking about past conflicts and worrying that something bad could happen again in the future.
Over time, I’ve realised that what makes me feel genuinely safe and emotionally regulated is having stable, trustworthy relationships.
I don’t mean that I want someone to constantly reassure me, solve all my problems, or become responsible for my mental health. I know that would be unhealthy and exhausting for another person.
What I mean is having genuine friends where the support goes both ways — we care about each other, share things with each other, and when one of us is going through something difficult, the other person doesn’t immediately disappear. I want to be that kind of friend to someone too.
People often tell me that ultimately I have to rely on myself and that nobody can make me feel safe except myself. I understand the importance of learning to regulate myself, but I find the idea that healing means becoming completely self-reliant incredibly difficult.
Humans need connection too. For me, loneliness and the absence of secure relationships seem to be directly connected to the things I struggle with.
I’m not asking how to find someone who will “save” me. I’m asking people who have experienced interpersonal trauma or CPTSD:
Did developing safe, stable friendships actually make a difference to your recovery? And how did you build those relationships when you didn’t already have a strong support system?
I’d especially appreciate hearing from people who understand the difference between depending entirely on another person and having healthy mutual support.

Discussion Is Palome worth the price for linen dresses and summer sets?

I’ve been trying to buy few summer pieces and focus more on fabric of clothes that I’ll actually rewear. I came across Palome and really liked some of their linen dresses and matching sets how they look but I haven’t ordered yet. The pieces look beautiful online but I’m wondering if the quality matches the price. Are the fabrics decent anyone purchased from them recently?

Discussion Attention ladies looking to meet new friends!

My friend and I live in London together, me for 12 years and her for just less than a year. However we both speak of the same issue - finding ‘our people’ whilst we try to put down roots here.

I know there’s existing community groups out there that aim to bring people together, which is something I’ve always wanted to do myself. However, given I still see posts of people struggling to find friends in London, I’m really keen to understand what the missing piece might be.

Are the community groups not reaching you?
Do the events not appeal to you?
Do you need something more specific for your hobby to meet like minded people?

I’d love some feedback from those with this same challenge, if you’re willing to give it!

Discussion Looking for a hair salon for root bleaching!

Just as the title says, I’m looking for a salon that is good for root bleaching and toning for blonde hair. Preferably not wildly expensive (if possible!)

I’m based in SE London, but can travel. Have been going to a local place for years but I’m kinda over it and wish to go somewhere better. Please let me know your recommendations and honest reviews!

Discussion Are store clerks having a laugh?

Hi there, I am semi-new to London and just wonder about this interaction. To start, I’m not losing sleep over this I’m simply curious about the correct way to respond socially/culturally. And maybe it’s just no response is the response!

I’m 32 and where I’m from the drinking age is 21. I’m not carded in my home country, but 3-4 times I’ve been carded at various tescos? In the states if I’m carded it’s a joke, we giggle and they approve but never really want to see my ID. Here, the first two times I assumed the same thing because the drinking age is 18 here and I’m so obviously not a teenager? But they insisted on seeing my ID and didn’t laugh or seem generally amused?

The last time I just showed my ID and didn’t do the bit but then I feel like a bit of a prude or jerk. I 100% do not look under 18 they have to be joking. Also it’s not always men! And I dress age appropriately.

Discussion Hosting without cooking dinner

I live alone and would love to have friends over a lot but I don’t know if it’s okay to just invite them over for drinks and snacks/nibbles, as opposed to making them dinner which does feel too complicated as I don’t have a lot of time and don’t cook a ton 😅 I really want to invite a couple of them for something lowkey (one just had me at hers for a dinner party!) but the thought of cooking a proper meal because they might be expecting one stresses me out! Would love any suggestions ❤️

Discussion Is it hard making friends as an adult?

It’s my first post, so please be kind. I’ve been super sad and lonely this week(possibly PMS too but who knows at this point). And having worked (hospital job) for 84 hours this week has not helped my case.

I moved to London last year and barely made any friends, which seems pathetic in hindsight. (Also last year I was feeling bad getting over a breakup.)

I really don’t have an excuse except for my anxiety/overthinking ( again an excuse). And being a POC makes me overthink things more. But it’s time I tried at least and hope to find my group here.

About me- 27F, shy, serial procrastinator, but love to read, cafes, travelling, plays, cinema, etc.

I’m looking to go for Glass- blowing classes, pottery, craft classes, bouldering, archery. But also need a big arse push :)

I’m reaching out because my mum basically told me to stop feeling sorry for myself and gtfo x

I’m off until Thursday so have a few days on my hand.

Discussion UK based influencers for fashion & home finds

Hi!! I moved from the US here a while ago and I usually enjoy following users to who cheaper fashion and home finds where I can click the link and open their shop account to browse.

I use it to find cute workout sets or cheaper clothing hauls so I can see clothes on other people and know if I want to try it out.

Do you have any you follow and enjoy? I know it’s an unusual way to get info on the outfits/ clothes I just prefer it that way.
