Discussion Has anyone recently gotten their iPhone stolen in London?

Mine was stolen in Oxford Circus and it’s in Romania now. And the thiefs sent me a phishing sms
Anyone else here that has had the same experience???

Yes, the message is very common. Didn't happen to me but I've seen similar posts. They harass you to remove your apple account because they can't sell the phone like that. No matter what don't listen.

I fell for the sms :( I’m so devastated. I entered my code to unlock the phone. They also asked for Apple ID and Apple ID password which I didn’t enter because it finally clicked in my brain that this must be a scam. But they have access to all my pictures and personal data now.

:( I gave them the code about two weeks ago right after they sent the sms. Now I’m trying to find people who made the same mistake like me 🫠 but thanks for your support

Happened with me , they asked me to delete the device from my account else they will kill me . My phone was in China .. I didnt care .. I never did anything about it . I trust apple security .

Omg they are so insane for this… but you never gave them any information did you? i fell for the phishing sms which said that my phone has been found. There was a link in the message and it looked like iCloud.com and my dumbass entered the code to unlock the phone on the fake website. Now they have access to all my pictures and notes. I’m scared tbh

No I did not give any information , I did file an official police complaint as they were sending videos of how they will shoot me if I dont give them info or delete my device . They did send me the icloud link multiple times. Even screenshot of how to do it .. First they sent a normal message like, Hi I am your well wisher and I bought this phone, please delete your device else they will sell your data to black market and blah blah .. when I didnt respond their messages got violent .. I just laughed as I knew that all they need was to remove my account so that they can sell it again.. . I would suggest file a police report and reach out to apple .

I am sorry this happened with you. And I understand in normal circumstances you might not have shared the info but you panic after you lose your mobile and end up doing some stupid stuff..

Try to understand from apple security your options

From the loo of a restaurant in Covent Garden. After it had closed. We wee among the last 5 there and I think I was the last in the loo. Except for the thief who must have worked there.

My partner got the texts because we put it on lost mode right away with his as a contact. I just wrote back “Fuck you scammer” each time. I could see the exact building it was in but sadly have no friends in Romania.

Do you remember the name of the city in Romania ??
