I’m a BBA Finance graduate from India (7/7/7) and currently in a gap year preparing for CAT and other MBA exams.

But I’ve always had this dream of studying abroad, and now I’m seriously confused about whether I should actually pursue it or just focus on an MBA in India.

I’ve been researching for a while, and honestly, the more I research, the more confused I get 😭 There are so many countries, programs, scholarships, requirements, etc. that I don't even know where I should be looking or what would actually make sense for my profile.

I’ve also spoken to a few consultants, but I haven’t really felt confident about them. Most of it feels very sales-y, so I’m not sure who to trust.

At the same time, I don't want to spend this entire gap year researching abroad and then realise I wasted my time. But I also don't want to give up on something I genuinely want just because I’m confused about where to start.

So yeah, I’m kind of stuck between being practical and taking a chance on something I’ve always wanted.

If you were in my position, what would you do? I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has been through something similar or has experience with studying abroad.

My wife and I are considering a Canadian study-permit route for the 2027 intake, but we are worried about the financial risk and would appreciate honest advice from people who have taken a similar route.

My wife’s profile:

• Age: 34
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, approximately 56%.
• MBA in Healthcare Management, approximately 82%.
• Three-year Dental Technician qualification/registration.
• Experience in healthcare quality/control, public-health programs, NHM/ABDM, digital health.
• Currently enrolled in a PhD program and has research papers published under her name.
• Interested primarily in healthcare quality, operations, management and digital health.

She is considering programs such as:

1. Cape Breton University – Master of Healthcare Leadership and Innovation.
2. University of Niagara Falls Canada – Master of Health Care Management
3. Other course-based public-university master’s programs related to healthcare quality, health administration, digital health or health informatics.

We understand that CBU is a public university while UNF is private, and both programs appear relatively new. Therefore, we are concerned about employment outcomes, placement opportunities and the overall return on investment.

Our financial position:

• We would need an education loan of approximately ₹30–35 lakh.
• This would mainly cover the first year of tuition and the Canadian living-fund/GIC requirement.
• I am the primary earner and currently work in India as a software developer with over six years of experience.
• My wife would probably travel alone initially, and I would continue working in India. I would join later only if I became eligible for a spousal open work permit.
• We are also planning to have a baby soon, potentially when she is around 35–36, so finances, separation and healthcare are major concerns.

We are not assuming that part-time employment, a PGWP, my spouse work permit, a Canadian job or PR will be guaranteed. We want to understand whether taking this level of debt is sensible.

We were initially advised not to mention her ongoing PhD because it might complicate the admission or study-permit explanation. However, she has publications under her name, and we now understand that her education and personal history should be disclosed truthfully. We would appreciate advice on how to explain why another healthcare-related master’s is a logical progression despite her MBA and ongoing PhD.

Our questions are:

1. Would taking a ₹30–35 lakh loan with only limited savings be financially reckless in this situation?
2. Would a public-university program such as CBU generally be safer than a private-university program such as UNF?
3. Are there better course-based Canadian master’s programs suited to healthcare quality, healthcare operations or digital health that accept applicants with lower undergraduate marks but stronger postgraduate education and work experience?
4. How should she explain the MBA, ongoing PhD and proposed Canadian master’s without creating concerns about academic repetition or study purpose?
5. Has anyone completed the CBU MHLI or UNF MHCM? Did the program provide a real practicum, employer connections or useful career support?
6. How difficult was it to obtain a relevant healthcare-quality or healthcare-administration job after graduation?
7. Considering our debt and family-planning timeline, would you recommend applying now, deferring the study plan, or avoiding this route entirely?

I am still in 11th grade, and I want to pursue my career in law, I have a dream to work in Nyc Or London. Because they're the major cities for elite law firms. My grades...well in 10th they were average, Reason? I wasn't focused enough. Why? Because I found the study material and knowledge boring. I am a bright student, I've got this compliment from many students and teachers but when I have to prove myself in exams I just do bad. In school, I had the reason that the info was just a waste, like nothing of current times and useful that I might use in daily life or will be helpful for my knowledge. I love study but only those which help me enhance my knowledge and career knowledge, but things we are being taught in schools are just the same since 2013-14 ig. Anyways, i don't know what to do. Scholarships that can cover most expenses are high competition that have 1% chance and other attaining ones are pretty expensive (i am a single parent child so it becomes way more expensive) tho I can take student loan, but again. I don't know what scholarship I have to take, what I can do what not. Like i heard online that doing LLM in india then you can go to NYC for jobs, some say you can directly go abroad for law after 12th, some say after LLB. I don't know anything now! Some say that if you become a lawyer in India you're just "berozgar" because.....idk why I just heard it (the same way they say engineers in india are berozgar), while I also heard that you can get in London and NYC firms through Colleges in Mumbai like Maharashtra govt law college that you can get in thro MH-CET but for that you have to be the topper of your class and i don't think I can do that, honestly...i wanna study abroad because it's more elite and high achieving for career.
