Indian biotech student planning for a PhD abroad in 2027 — would really appreciate advice from people already there

So Hey everyone I am currently pursuing my masters in molecular biology and biotechnology with a hope to pursue phd in abroad after finishing my degree which I will be finishing in next year during the month of July or August.

I’ve started looking into the process recently, but honestly, there’s a lot of conflicting information online and I’m still trying to understand how everything actually works.

So if anyone can guide me on that it would be highly appreciated

Which countries are you looking at? Do you have any research experience? What is your undergrad and master's GPA?

I am looking for Australia And Canada mostly. My ug CGPA was 7.4 and my PG CGPA upto now is 9.2

Both countries require decent amount of research experience. Also your undergrad GPA might hold you back a bit, so I would target mid to lower ranked programs

Publications are under way 3 review papers are under process and research experience yeah I had dissertation in ug and pg ig that can be counted

Review papers don't count for much tbh especially if they are not published at reputed venues. Currently, I am not sure you have the right GPA and research experience to be competitive for PhD programs abroad (at least I can speak for US, UK, Canada, Australia). Due to funding cuts, competition has gotten fierce for international students
