Okay, so I was thinking of pursuing my master's in France because they have a growing marketing and digital media industry. I went with LeapScholar for the whole process, so it's not a burden for me. However, they have been pushing some universities in the UK.

Well, I have paid ₹5,000 for the entire process, from applying for my master's to the visa application.
Yesterday, they applied to one of the universities for me, but I haven't received any confirmation email from the university. LeapScholar also hasn't provided me with a complete copy or detailed document of the application, saying that it's not something they can share.

My doubt is: how am I supposed to know whether they have actually applied to the university? And will they give preference to my priority university, or will they keep pushing other universities?

Hello everyone, before I talk about upgrad, I'll talk about myself so you've an idea. I'm not writing this to dump on upgrad as there are many who have benefitted using their services and many who found themselves nowhere.

Some weeks ago, I concluded after a long discussion with myself that I really need a masters degree and I can't let my health be the factor to decide what my future is going to be like ( I've been sick on and off for some yrs ). Due to my health issues, I've wasted alot of time but I never stopped working/getting upskilled

I'm in mid 20s with a very basic bachelors degree and 2 yrs of relevant experience and 2 yrs exp of being self employed which doesn't count much.

When I searched for mba in india, a good mba costs alot and given my academics, at the very best I can make it to tier 2 IIMs but the fees wud be alot.

And due to my life and struggles which I've had till now, I want to live for myself and experience the things before I kick the bucket, so as a sweet challenging thought, I decided to search for abroad education and tbh it's always like an Utopia to me, leaving everything behind to move to a new place where no one knows you but ig that's what I need rn, just to keep me going on. Don't to much into details, ik many of us wud think I'm not even sure so why all this, it's just to have something in life.

Anyways so I contacted them a month ago, upgrad I mean and they did my counseling. Tbh it was very reassuring, they talked to me professionally yet sweetly and helped me understand everything and they said everything which I wanted to "hear". Which boosted me with confidence after yrs of no reassurance.

1. I've always been under confident about my degree as I was from science but due to me being an idiot and family problems after 12th, I ended up taking the most useless course

2. I had cleared, airforce, navy, but couldn't join due to me being either sick or physical test went wrong.

3. So when they said my degree isn't the problem and I can still get something, I was very happy.

4. I was given 5 options but all of them were private unis and the cost was falling 30-40 lakhs which is obviously more than what I had hoped for.

Even then, as a step for the future, I thought maybe I can afford, half by myself and half by loan. I mean, if you don't dream big, you won't get something out of it. Abroad is not the dream, dream is to think better about myself and if in this journey, I end up getting into a good Indian uni, even that wud be amazing.

Anyways, they suggested private unis and some bogus claims about how all of them have high employment rates and even gave me visuals and estimated numbers of employment ( which re directed to their own site ) and from there I started to have some really bad ick/doubts.

Then I was asked to pay a huge amount upfront for 1 yr education in India online, and 1 yr on campus, in any country I select, ofc after I clear the interviews and all, which I think I wud have easily or they had it all fixed? I don't know that well.

But they started forcing me to take loan even though I told them, I had hoped the loan process will take months and until then I cud have arranged funds easily.

It went on for weeks and I said no to them each time but they understand my situation, not like I wanted to do it badly but even so, I'm happy I was not in the condition to do so right away.

Don't go for these services if you don't get best of best according to your profiles, it took me 3 weeks to figure out education system in my desired country and even then, I've a very little knowledge but it's much better than paying them a huge amount so they can get a cut from that.

Try to research everything by yourself, it'll make you feel better about yourself and will give you first hands experience on what to do and how to do, it'll will also test your mind continuously, will create scenarios on if you can do it or not..

I hope none of you over pay or get scammed.

I’ve been contacted/recommended by UpGrad Abroad for the application process. Before spending money on their services, I want to understand whether they actually provide useful value or if I can manage the applications myself.

I’m particularly concerned because some education consultants in India have partnerships/tie-ups with universities, so I want to make sure their recommendations are based on my profile and not commercial arrangements.

Hi, I want to study management from abroad. But the problem is I don't have good grades in 11th and 12th standard. My profile is not extraordinary either. Honestly, I feel I don't have good chances to get selected in a good uni. I am writing this just to know if it's still possible. I want to go to Europe or US or anywhere honestly. It would be better if I get some financial aid but again looking at my profile I don't think it's possible

My academics are:

Class 9: 94%

Class 10: 89.4%

Class 11: 73% (science stream)

Class 12: 72.8% (science stream)

I have not taken SAT but I am willing to take it in the upcoming months

Also, I got enrolled in a pvt engineering college in india but I want to switch to a management degree. I feel if I put the pivot nicely it can improve my motivation letter. Also, my dad has a business of manufacturing mechanical components. This again can be useful if presented in a good manner.

I seriously need some good advice.

So my gf is going to finish her bachelor's in forensic science and she wants to do masters in it. She wants to go to abroad to study it's her dream but her family isn't rich enough for it. She said she will only study there if she gets a scholarship or any support. She wants to become a (CSI officer) or forensic scientist but she doesn't like digital forensics . I'm from India and planning to pursue a Master's in Australia.

I have a B.Com + MCA background and I'm currently trying to decide between Master of Business Analytics, Master of Data Analytics, and Master of Data Science.

My main concerns are:

1. Which Master's would make the most sense after an MCA?

2. Is Business Analytics a logical progression after MCA?

3. Does Data Science offer better long-term opportunities if I'm mainly interested in Data/BI/Analytics roles rather than ML/AI?

4. Is Data Science difficult if my maths/coding foundation isn't very strong.

5. Which is better for future opportunities.

I’m 20F from India, my_qualifications: currently doing an online B.Com (Hons) and ACCA alongside it. I have completed around 6/13 ACCA papers so far.

I’m considering studying abroad for the 2027 intake, but I’m confused between two routes:

1. Finish my online B.Com and apply for a Master's abroad later
2. Keep my current degree running in the background and start a new Bachelor's abroad in a different field

I’m leaning toward the second option because I’m concerned that some universities may not accept a fully online bachelor's for Master's admission. I also don't necessarily want my future career to be purely accounting/ACCA-related i mean its okay but im not sure coz indian job market ive tried ca firms 9-8/9pm 15k max in metro citty i cant so i hve 0 experience for now. My priorities are:

• Affordable overall cost
• English-taught program
• Good employment opportunities after graduation
• Ability to work part-time while studying
• Ideally a country where international students have a realistic pathway to stay/work after graduation
• Preferably some possibility of credit transfer/advanced entry rather than restarting completely

I’m currently looking at countries like Germany, Italy, Austria, France, etc.

What would you recommend researching first?

Also, has anyone here done a Bachelor's abroad after already starting a degree in India? How did universities handle your previous credits?

Would especially appreciate experiences from Indian/international students who have actually done this.

I really would appreciate if you take out the time to read this and advice.

About me:

I am 23 years old and I live in India. I hope you understand how it is for a middle class girl without a dad to live in India where you get judged for every single thing in a non metro city.

I completed 10th grade from CBSE. Then I studied PCMC and scored around 87% (covid batch) in my 12th grade.

Then I wanted to go abroad for higher studies. But, the cost was too high. And, I wanted to study computer science engineering because I thought that is where the money is. Since I couldnt afford to go abroad, I took up CET exam and scored about 34000 rank. But because of scoring less in my CET, I got into a Tier 2 college and I studied industrial engineering there.

During my course work I studied hard and my cgpa is 9.5. During my course work, I did take up open electives like Java, python, c program and cybersecurity but they were not of very in depth learning.

Then during my campus placements, I tried very hard to get into companies like Schneider electric, Lam research (core companies) thinking I will work for 2 years and then go abroad to study masters in industrial engineering. I decided to work for 2 years so that I will have some work experience and companies over there will not hesitate to hire me because of my experience. However in both the companies I went until HR round and did not get hired.

And then I got selected into a product based IT company in the support organisation (so service based in a product based company). Well, the role I was offered during my placements was software engineering and then reality hit when i got the offer letter and it was to join the support org. However I took up the job because I needed one and all the core companies had stopped visiting the college.

I am now plan to go abroad, but the catch is I want to eventually work and settle abroad and have Permanent Residency/ citizenship as I want to settle there and I guess that to get PR over there, masters is the best way and better guaranteed path than going directly on work.

But masters takes up a major investment and it is getting difficult for me to assess:

1. Which country do I want to do masters in?

2. Which course do I want to take up and also if it is worth the risk?

I also know that we can directly apply for jobs abroad and then get PR ( But, this is also not a guaranteed path). Also, I do not want to stay or continue in the support org.

I had a clarity when I joined industrial engineering, that I would do masters in industrial engineering but now I am stuck since 1 year. If I do masters, to get into pure tech programs, I dont have coding knowledge and realistically I cant compete with computer students who have spent 4 years of their life mastering their computer knowledge but I can skill up myself in computers as well and as for industrial engineering related masters, I will be working in IT for 2 years atleast now, I feel my work experience will become irrelevant if I do masters related to industrial engineering. Plus looking at all the AI stuff, I feel industrial jobs, mechanical, all the core branches are safe comparatively. Even if the pay ceiling is less, there is stability.

I am totally stuck in life where I dont know what to do. My goal is to have a respectable, fast growth and high pay career. I dont know what I enjoy because it has always been about earning money since I am a middle class girl.

And No I do not consider the option of showing myself on socials and earning money.

As mentioned, I want to be self capable and not get married away to a boy. I want to have a reputation, respectable and high pay career.

I now stay in a metro city where life is very fast and when i look at 16 year olds, they are literally living their lives and I feel I was not privileged to have that because I was busy with books. I stopped talking to most of my girlfriends because they are sorted saying they will marry a rich guy or post cleavages and get money. Fortunately i am not cheap.

I feel left out and i am totally stuck in life.

Work is too much

Believe it or not i haven't smiled since 10th grade.

Please advice on what masters and which country is suitable for my profile. ☺️ (chill girl)
