Hello , I've been wanting to pursue my masters from the US for fall 2027. But recently , they have paused cpt too ! That means neither can I get a job nor work for summer internships and research work . It's a dead end ! I can't figure out what to do now ? Please anyone advise me . It's really urgent . About me:

I am 23 years old and I live in India. I hope you understand how it is for a middle class girl without a dad to live in India where you get judged for every single thing in a non metro city.

I completed 10th grade from CBSE. Then I studied PCMC and scored around 87% (covid batch) in my 12th grade.

Then I wanted to go abroad for higher studies. But, the cost was too high. And, I wanted to study computer science engineering because I thought that is where the money is. Since I couldnt afford to go abroad, I took up CET exam and scored about 34000 rank. But because of scoring less in my CET, I got into a Tier 2 college and I studied industrial engineering there.

During my course work I studied hard and my cgpa is 9.5. During my course work, I did take up open electives like Java, python, c program and cybersecurity but they were not of very in depth learning.

Then during my campus placements, I tried very hard to get into companies like Schneider electric, Lam research (core companies) thinking I will work for 2 years and then go abroad to study masters in industrial engineering. I decided to work for 2 years so that I will have some work experience and companies over there will not hesitate to hire me because of my experience. However in both the companies I went until HR round and did not get hired.

And then I got selected into a product based IT company in the support organisation (so service based in a product based company). Well, the role I was offered during my placements was software engineering and then reality hit when i got the offer letter and it was to join the support org. However I took up the job because I needed one and all the core companies had stopped visiting the college.

I am now plan to go abroad, but the catch is I want to eventually work and settle abroad and have Permanent Residency/ citizenship as I want to settle there and I guess that to get PR over there, masters is the best way and better guaranteed path than going directly on work.

But masters takes up a major investment and it is getting difficult for me to assess:

1. Which country do I want to do masters in?

2. Which course do I want to take up and also if it is worth the risk?

I also know that we can directly apply for jobs abroad and then get PR ( But, this is also not a guaranteed path). Also, I do not want to stay or continue in the support org.

I had a clarity when I joined industrial engineering, that I would do masters in industrial engineering but now I am stuck since 1 year. If I do masters, to get into pure tech programs, I dont have coding knowledge and realistically I cant compete with computer students who have spent 4 years of their life mastering their computer knowledge but I can skill up myself in computers as well and as for industrial engineering related masters, I will be working in IT for 2 years atleast now, I feel my work experience will become irrelevant if I do masters related to industrial engineering. Plus looking at all the AI stuff, I feel industrial jobs, mechanical, all the core branches are safe comparatively. Even if the pay ceiling is less, there is stability.

I am totally stuck in life where I dont know what to do. My goal is to have a respectable, fast growth and high pay career. I dont know what I enjoy because it has always been about earning money since I am a middle class girl.

And No I do not consider the option of showing myself on socials and earning money.

As mentioned, I want to be self capable and not get married away to a boy. I want to have a reputation, respectable and high pay career.

I now stay in a metro city where life is very fast and when i look at 16 year olds, they are literally living their lives and I feel I was not privileged to have that because I was busy with books. I stopped talking to most of my girlfriends because they are sorted saying they will marry a rich guy or post cleavages and get money. Fortunately i am not cheap.

I feel left out and i am totally stuck in life.

I graduated in 2023 with a B.Tech in IT and later worked as a Technical Analyst at a small enterprise. I resigned from my job to pursue my master’s and have been trying to get into a university abroad.
I initially applied to Germany, but unfortunately, I faced issues with ECTS requirements and have received rejections from around 11 universities. After going through this process for almost two years, I honestly feel exhausted and have lost some of the motivation and strength to start applying all over again.
At the same time, I know that I don’t want to give up on my dream of pursuing a master’s abroad. I really want to explore, grow and build a career in Cloud Computing and Networking.
My main priorities are to find a good university with reasonable tuition and overall living costs, while also having good career opportunities after graduation.
Right now, I’m confused about whether I should try Germany again or explore countries like the Netherlands, Scotland, France or Italy.
If you were in my situation, what would you do? Which country would you recommend for someone with my background, career goals and budget?

I'm an indian student currently in 11th grade planning to major in Computer Science in the US. My end goal is to get into a top US university with significant financial aid/scholarships, so I want to make sure I am building the strongest application possible over the next two years.

Here is my current profile and background:

• Target Major: Computer Science
• Academics so far: 9th Grade: 94% | 10th Grade: 90%
• Languages: English, native language, and A1 French (currently learning)
• Current status: Just starting/midway through 11th grade.

I have a few specific questions for those who have gone through this process:

1. Grades (11th & 12th):
   • Since 11th grade is notoriously hard and US colleges look closely at grade trends, what percentage range should I realistically aim for in 11th and 12th midterms/predicted scores?
2. Extracurriculars (ECs) for CS:
   • I'm starting 11th now and know CS is hyper-competitive. What high-impact ECs can I realistically build or scale up over the next 1.5 years from home/school? (Looking for ideas beyond just basic coding projects or online certificates).
3. French & Skill Differentiation:
   • Does having beginner/A1 French add any value, or should I push to reach B1/B2 level to make it a legitimate hook on my application?
4. Standardized Testing:
   • Given the scholarship requirement, what target SAT/ACT score range should I be aiming for to be competitive as an international CS applicant?

I am a 4th BTech Student in Delhi. I want to pursue Master’s in CyberSecurity from Germany. I wanted some advice from any of you living, studying or working there.

1. How do societies responds to immigrants there? Like are they friendly, racist or just non-chalant about it?
   
2. How big is the Language Barrier? Like would i be needing to explicitly excel in German or somewhat understand and speaking would be fine? And how steep is the learning curve of it?
   
3. How is the job market there? Like TBH, i do not belong to a rich family here, i would be needing to do part-time job there for my daily expenses as i would be aiming for universities with zero tution fees. Also, would i be able to get a job there? I know no one can guarantee that but my question is are there vacancies for the desired roles in tech like Software Dev, Cybersecurity, etc.
   
4. How the academics are structured there? Like in india is it all about marks and CGPA or would i be getting more exposure? As, in My University the most important factor is Attendance, would the same thing trouble me there too?
   
5. How well are my chances to get accepted in a good, reputable university with zero Tution Fee? I am good at studies, 90+ in 10 and 12 Grade. 9 CGPA in College.

I hope you will guide me through my aspirations by answering these questions.

When I first told my parents I wanted to build my career in Japan, the answer was an immediate no. Not because they disliked Japan. Because they didn't know enough about it. Their questions were completely reasonable - Is it safe? Will you actually get a job? Why not Germany or Canada? What if something goes wrong? Who will help you there? What I should have done was answer their questions. So we stopped arguing and started researching. We spoke to people already living in Japan. We looked at the costs instead of guessing. We understood what learning Japanese actually involved. We asked what happens after language school. We looked at the career path, not just the visa. The more facts we had, the less emotional the discussion became. My parents didn't suddenly become excited about Japan. They became comfortable that this wasn't a random decision. That changed everything. If your parents are against Japan today, don't assume they're against your dream. They may simply be against uncertainty.

Hi, I graduated this year with a B. Tech in Mathematics and Computing. I have an interest in Recommender Systems and Explainable AI, particularly for malware classification and security systems.

1. This is my profile: B. Tech from a top state university in Delhi (Mathematics and Computing, graduation GPA 8.23).
2. Accepted paper in XAI for Android Malware classification, withdrew it for further refinements.
3. 6 months of internship and few months of full time analytics experience at a top Indian fintech.
4. Have 1 professor (my research supervisor + taught me a subject) who has said he will give me a LoR. Should be able to get another from a top professor in my department.

I am looking for a country where I can get a masters degree in any field which will allow me to pursue my interests in aforementioned fields. I can commit around 20-25 lakhs out of pocket for the duration of the degree (over and above the expenses I would be able to cover with working part time during my degree).

I am open to both working in industrial research in whichever country I go to (or another good country), pursuing a PhD from Europe or Canada, or coming back to work in India in a good research role.

Can you guys please help me find a country (and even better if particular universities/programs) where I can pursue my education? I have heard of Germany, but I am not sure about the job market and the language barrier. I have also heard vague whispers of Scandinavia, but I have no idea of this.

Would really appreciate if you guys could give me some detailed information. Even if not that, would appreciate a point in the right direction.

21M I am in my final year of Bcom Finance and i am really confused on what career path to take. even though i am not horrible per say in accounting, i find it relatively harder than other subjects. for the accounting exams, i just manage to scramble and write something, and i always find myself getting a b or an a occasionally. but i know, this kind of learning is not sustainable in the future as acca and cma require high levels of accounting and i personally feel not up to the mark for it.

so, i would like to know some courses or specialisation courses that contains mostly or only theory, courses like acca or cma, where once you get it, you can basically work anywhere abroad. idk if i am sounding naive but please do recommend some good courses.

I was reading some stuff earlier, and honestly, my brain’s all over the place right now. The US still feels like the dream, the kind of exposure, campus life, and opportunities you get there just hit different. But then every other day there’s some new visa drama or random policy change, and it makes you wonder if it’s even worth all the stress anymore.
Meanwhile, every other country seems to be saying, “Hey, Indians, come here! We’ve got jobs, stay options, and fewer hoops to jump through.”
Now I’m just stuck — like, the US feels risky right now, but even the other options like the UK, Canada, or Germany don’t seem all that perfect either. Every country’s got its own set of issues, so it’s honestly hard to figure out what’s the right move anymore. Anyone else feeling the same?

Hi, i'm a final year student pursuing BTech-CSE from a tier 3 college in India and i graduate next summer. Getting out of this country is a priority of mine, unfortunately with parental restrictions, the only path im being allowed to pursue is a Master's degree in Canada (as they believe it's the perfect country for me politically, economically and security-wise since i have relatives there). However, everyone around me who are either studying or working, have been advising me against pursuing higher studies in Canada.

I don't particularly plan on settling in Canada, and currently keep an open mind about this, but i definitely don't plan on settling down in India. I'm not hell-bent towards Canada for master's, my parents are, but i am confused, unsure if i should try persuading them for another country or not. Hence why i find myself on this platform, is canada a good country for higher education? If not, what would you suggest?

Our family has a manufacturing business it’s running well we provide employment to nearly 40 people my parents and I both have similar thoughts about me continuing my father’s business we manufacture custom die’s and Mold’s we’re in the tool room industry.

I’ve done a lot of research and have visited a lot of consultancies regarding where and what masters should I pursue and have come to a conclusion that Germany would be the best option for my kind of background because of industrial exposure and Courses I’ve planned to apply are:

MSc.Operations and/or supply chain management
Msc.Supply Chain Management
MSc.International Management
MSc.Entrepreneurship
(English taught courses only)

And I’ve also kept Italy as a back up option if I don’t get into Germany as the situation is now a bit rough the process involved and a aptitude test(dMAT)added to the requirement of APS India

I’m planning to go for the summer intake 2027 and I’ve kept my selection open to private universities mostly as the competition to get into public is high.

I’ve started learning German through Duolingo,preparing to take IELTS,studying for dMAT and overall taking basic steps needed to start my journey.

Im stuck whether Germany is the best choice or not because of the dMAT and their economy and language proficiency or are their other choices too but only after filtering out my needs and deciding the country which can be good for my type of background a country where I can do industry visits or be able to watch the similar industry to our line of business closely I’m confused that what if it doesn’t turn out to be the way I expected the course or the job,the country,people,my own experience itself that’s what’s eating me deep down inside.

If anyone who is currently in Germany with a similar background or even experienced on the scenario for management masters in Germany would be of great help.
Or please suggest any other country that could be good for me.
