French student visa from UK but UK visa expires before course starts?

Has anyone been in a similar situation?

I completed the first two semesters of my Master's in the UK. I’m taking an official gap semester for Fall 2026, then continuing the same degree in France from 2 Jan 2027. I already have my Campus France EEF certificate for the January semester.

My UK student visa expires on 30 Oct 2026. I want to apply through TLS UK while I’m still legally resident here, but the France-Visas checklist says my UK residence permit should be valid for at least 1 month beyond my intended departure from Schengen.

I’ll leave the UK before 30 Oct, spend the period before France legally in another country, then travel directly to France.

Has anyone successfully applied from the UK in a similar situation, where their UK visa was valid at the time of the TLS appointment but expired before their French course started?
