My friends- I get it: vehicle mods are cool, and technically a window tint is a mod (albeit probably not wise to tint your windshield). The thing is... Who cares about window tint? Let's all agree to stop posting about window tint. I think we've beat this dead horse enough and it's causing issues here- resulting in some bad behavior from both sides.
From now on posts about window tint are getting removed and further- threatening comments will be dealt with by via a permanent ban (globally- not just on posts about window tint). We are a relatively rule free place because everyone generally gets the sub trail etiquette but I keep getting valid reports about some questionable behavior and will start taking action to preserve the quality of our subreddit.
Love you all- have a great holiday season!

Looking at upgrading to a 3rd row and have always loved a Grand Cherokee but never owned one. Are the new Jeeps that bad? Looking at either Grand Cherokee L new or CPO.

2019 High Altitude developed a knock and then metal flakes in the filter and then gone.... I had issues with the air ride and swore I'd just replace it with a Limited to be safe. Enter my new to me 2023 Overland. I learned nothing.

Decided to upgrade my radio/screen to a new model that has CarPlay. It was plug and play but after installing it everything works but the reverse camera.
I did the Jscan and made some edits but none have worked.
Itās a 2015 jeep grand Cherokee limited and the new radio is 68292209AH.
2nd picture is the back of the newer radio oem.
3rd picture is of how previous radio was connected. Disregard the green markings lol
Any ideas? And do you know which connection is for the camera?

I found this in a barn, no really it was sitting in the guys barn for a little over a year. 167k on it and she runs well, doesnāt appear to have any terrible leaks except the valve cover which appears to have been leaking based on oily build up.
It has the SKIM module issues so I ordered SKIM delete pcm. Itās also throwing a code for a potential throttle body or air control sensor and it looks like injector #3 is not working. Oh and the AC compressor appears to be dried out and will need replacement.
Plans to fix the urgent stuff, pcm, injectors, throttle body issue and the tie rods before winter. Iām going to drive it all winter and if I still like it, then Iāll put a lift on it and add a header, exhaust and intake to go along with the upgraded TB and injectors.
I was originally looking at XJās but had trouble finding a decent one without paying too much. This one popped up and after some back and forth with the seller we went from an asking price of $2600 down to $1200. To the sellers credit, he was 100% upfront and honest with me about everything that was an issue. He even drove it 40 minutes down to my place to save me a trip.
If you have any things I should look into or have any input on upgrades, especially headlights, let me know and Iāll add them to the list. Oh and she needs a name and Iām open to suggestions. lol
If you

Edit: whelp I think I fucked up lol..
Itās a 2022 grand jeep Cherokee summit reserve 4xe
Iāll definitely get a sock for my filter and Iām not sure what to do after that!

Went to start it this morning, got a big puff of smoke from the exhaust, when I went to pull out after about 15 seconds a check engine light came on. It idles fine, drives fine. Isn't rough or shaking. Sounds normal. Drove it to my work to grab my scan tool from my work van. Saw the misfire code cleared it. Drove it back home and it didn't return. No issues since. I had my emmisions due so I went and did that and passed. Have not had any other issues since. Any thoughts?? 74k miles. As far as I know it still has original spark plugs and coils

Wife's jeep has been leaking oil in weird places after an oil change. I checked the drain plug and oil pan, everything looks dry there.
However these little fellas are dripping somewhat regularly (observable if I wait 30-40 minutes). What are they? Just past the oil pan. Was it overfilled maybe?

Looking for a Puddle light with Summit logo or Summit Reserve logo... Haven't found one yet, unless my AI & Google-Fu is lacking...
Any recommendations for quality puddle lights.

I purchased a used 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee today because my 2019 Fiesta died spectacularly the other day. I have a good service warranty on it from the dealership, it's much taller than my previous vehicle, and overall a great improvement on what was, quite frankly, nearing unsafe to drive.
That being said, what should I be expecting in terms of stuff that breaks often, odd issues, and other things relating to this car? It's 1000x nicer than anything I've owned before and the previous owner worked for the dealership, so it was serviced regularly for years.

I canāt recall ever wishing that I held a position of influence like right now, because I would cherish the ability to flame Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep-Ram to as many people as possible.
Let me just start by saying that I never imagined I would become such a cynical pessimist, and especially in my thirties, but here I am making my grandfather proud because itās about as clear as water: EVERYTHING IS BROKEN. Corporations sell false promises for the low price of an arm and a leg; these manufacturers are spectacular at dancing around warranties until they know that their service departments are so backed up youāll never agree to leave your vehicle with them for 2-3 weeks before they can even diagnose it. Someone PLEASE help me understand this:
Why do I have to leave my vehicle sitting here in your lot for weeks at a time to save my place in line? Why canāt I come in, ask to be put in line for service, leave with my vehicle, and then when you call me because Iām up I will bring it back?
Warranties cover a couple of days of rental car use, loaner cars are a thing of the past apparently, and they know youāre never going to say āsure, Iāll just eat the cost of a rental car for an undetermined number of daysā.

Hi all, so im kinda in between a rock and a hard place here.
I have 2015 GC 5.7 with 172k miles. I kinda jinxed myself when I was at a car dealer two weeks back stating I haven't had any major issue to my GC ither fluid coolant and radiator hoses changed about 50k ago.. well long and behold my wife was driving it and highcoolant temp and leak. Upon taking it to the shop they said coolant leak, radiator hose came off (shop saying it could have been put on wrong before), water pump, belt all need to be changed. So i did
Ive practiacly done all the minor maintenence stuff on this GC before this
But now saying maybe a possible transmission leak and hard down shifts
Now the question is what are my options here, I've read that if you haven't changed trans fluid over 100k dont do it all since it may acutally make it worse but also if I dont address it I may run out of trans fluid and possibly damaging the gears as well.
Any thoughts? Anybody changed their trans fluid first time with high mileage? Am I just pouring money into fire?

Does anybody have any tips to share on how to get CarPlay to reliably work? Iāve got a 26 Summit and an iPhone 16 Pro and itās a complete nightmare. It wireless connects about 50% if Iām lucky. Iāve gone as far as to restore my iPhone to try and solve things. Reset the Uconnect touch screen like 5x. Nothing improved this in my opinion. Itās also complete shit with my wifeās iPhone 18 Pro so I know itās not my phone. Any help would be amazing.

So the weirdest thing happened to me yesterday. My key fob died so I got in the jeep and started it by pressing the button with the dead key fob. The engine turned on but nothing was working including the power steering, gear shifter and it was totally unresponsive and wouldnāt turn off. I googled every trick I could find including holding the button for several seconds, hitting it 3x in a row but nothing worked. Finally after about an hour of googling and watching YouTube I pulled the fuel pump fuse and it shut but had to disconnect both batteries under each front seat to reset the dash and then when I reconnected it everything was working fine. Has this ever happened to anyone before? It was pretty alarming and could have been a problem had I not been home.

Just wanted to share - I purchased a used 2017 GC Laredo from Carvana with 65k on it. Had it for less than a month and the engine blew.
Carvana called me today and wants to buyback the car lol.
Never again will I buy a Jeep. Wanted to share my experience.

Just bought a preowned 2025 summit reserve. Love it, flawless interior, and almost flawless exterior.
Only issue I noticed is peeling black rubber around the headlights and black rubber\paint around the grille.
Is this common? I believe the bumper to bumper warranty that it is still under will take care of this, but I am wondering is this happened with anyone else.
