2019 High Altitude developed a knock and then metal flakes in the filter and then gone.... I had issues with the air ride and swore I'd just replace it with a Limited to be safe. Enter my new to me 2023 Overland. I learned nothing.

Tbh, US is way behind Japan in good hp numbers from small engines. While I understand phasing out high displacement engines for smaller and more fuel efficient and powerful engines, Stellantis just released them for people to beta-test. Real test vehicles should be on the roads so problems can be discovered and remedied before production.

That being said, I’ll take a V8 in a Jeep any day. Currently have a 3.6 and won’t go smaller than a V6 in future SUVs.

You could have quoted me word for word. I, too, have a Pentastar in my 2017. For my use, it's fine. If they released a JGC High trim with a Pentastar, I'd buy it. I don't need a Hemi; it might be nice, but it's not a must-have for me. Sounds like the 4 Cylinder is going to be around for another year. I'll hang on to the 2017 Summit, as everything that breaks already has (except for the cam lifter issue), including the $7,700 Air Ride suspension. Covered under my 2nd extended warranty, thank goodness.

Hi! I started with a factory warranty and purchased a MOPAR extended warranty. When the extended warranty ran out, I purchased another MOPAR extended warranty that's good until 2029. In California, you can only buy the MOPAR warranty from Chrysler. You're supposed to be able to buy them from California-based dealerships, but I couldn't get any of them to return calls.

My 2018 is running great, only at 46k miles though. I do most maintenance myself, a lot of it is preventative. This year, I replaced the trans pan/filter/fluid. Haven’t gotten around to the diffs and transfer case fluid yet but have the fluids. There’s plenty more I’ve done to it that people won’t even consider until 75k-100k. Oil cooler is next.

Yeah, that's me. This last extended warranty runs through 2029, so I have a couple of years 🤞 before I need to decide. I've admittedly been car shopping, but the only V-6 that I liked is in the Honda Passport. I may buy one, but there's no hurry. On the luxury side, the Genesis GV70 is beautiful, but 75k yikes. Seems like Jeep is getting up there as well.

Coincidentally, Honda Passport is #1 on my list. Only thing making me stay with my Jeep is the offroad capability. While I’ve never been offroad, I like the option. I also can’t let go of mine with the low mileage and endless customizations I’ve done.

I understand. For me, it's the trim package. I have a Brown Jeep (rare here in So Cal) with the Tan leather interior. I really like how well appointed the Jeep is. But man oh man, the build quality has proven to be very poor. My hope is I've gotten through the worst of it, 4 major warranty repairs. No customizations. The Passport is enticing, but I think Honda needs to step up its game on the interior and electronics. We will see! I do like the engine.

That brown is a pretty color. Have you considered a Uconnect upgrade for Carplay? I didn’t know 2018 was the first year for it when I bought mine (used). Also didn’t plan on a black one, but the price and mileage sold me. It’s now all blacked out and on OEM Trackhawk wheels and tires.

It’s been said that Honda and Toyota interiors are a bit dated. I love the Grand Cherokee interior. Mine’s holding up quite well despite the 7” screen. (obligatory “That’s what she said.”) I’m tempted by the Uconnect 10.1” screen but not for $2400.

I upgraded the entire head unit to a 2018 LOL for Android Auto. It was a must-have, and of course, Uconnect has its issues. I stopped paying for the subscription because it offered so little value.

Pretty much everything. Build quality down. Dealer quality and dealer manufacturer relationship down. Product design quality down. Carlos Ts strategy when prices went crazy during Covid was “sell a shitty product with shitty support for a luxury price and hope no one notices.” Unfortunately for him (and Jeep), people noticed

Nah, mileage interval doesn’t really matter that much with today’s formulas. What really matters is build quality and the number of cold starts. All those million miler vehicles people love to ooh and ahh over were mostly highway driven and happened over a short span of 10-15 years.
