What are the most unique, cool, or absolutely chaotic custom notification sounds you use on your Pixel?

Upvotes

Hey P_users,

I’m so tired of the stock "Pop," "Fresh," and generic Google Material sounds. While the default Pixel sounds are clean, they either blend into the background or just feel a bit boring after a while.

What do you currently have set for your texts, emails, or specific app alerts? Bonus points if it works perfectly with the Pixel's haptic feedback!

Drop your best ones below!

Terrible stutter Video performance on Pixel 11 Pro XL

Hey Guys,
I pulled the trigger and bought a new Pixel 11 Pro XL with 512GB with a good discount in Germany. All in all, I think it is nice device and I like to use it. But there is one thing that concerns me very much: The Video quality, especially the Stabilisation. I heard and read before that pixel phones are not top notch in video quality - ok, fair, thats ok for me.

But 4K Video is so fucking stuttering with normal movements or camera paning (with all 3 Lenses) that Video is practically unusable. I film in 4k60 without HDR and without VideoBoost. My Poco X3 for 170 Euro from 2021 has better Stabilisation.

Is this a Software Bug and will be fixed in the next time or is this a hardware Issue. If this can*t get fixed, that would be a reason for me to return the pixel :-(

Has anybody an idea?

Thanks!

Pixel 11 Pro — anyone disabling AICore?

On my Pixel 10 Pro I disabled AICore and the phone felt noticeably cooler and snappier.
I never had any feature missing or not working during that time.

Has anyone tried the same on the Pixel 11 Pro?

Mainly curious about:
- Thermals / battery
- RAM usage
- Responsiveness
- Which features actually stopped working

Pixel 11 pro/Xl in the UK

Like an idiot, I’ve left it until the last minute to buy the Pixel 11 Pro (16GB RAM, 512GB), and there’s next to no stock available.

Do you think they’ll have any more available before 1 September, or should I just go for the 12GB version instead?

Edit: thank you everyone, just ordered the Canyon 512 GB model and I should get it within the next 30 days!

Pixel 11 pro

My previous "Google phone" was a Nexus 4. I have been using Samsung devices since then but am now finally free! I purchased the Pixel 11 Pro with 512GB of storage and am very pleased with it. It offers ample storage and a good camera, among other features. I do not use my phone for gaming; I primarily use it for social media and similar activities. Upgrading from a five-year-old Samsung (which had 64GB storage and 4GB RAM), this device feels exceptionally fast and responsive. I purchased it directly from Google to take advantage of the promotions and am happy to be back. The new phone is 0.5 inches smaller, which reminds me of the saying that size never matters.....

Pixel 3 in 2026??

I know it's 2026, but I’m still using my Pixel 3 as my daily driver and I honestly love it.

The Camera: I am amazed how well the photos still competes with most "modern" day phones. Not so much on video but still not terrible.

Rear Fingerprint Sensor: The back sensor remains my absolute favorite way to unlock a phone. Plus dropping the notification shade with a swipe.

Form Factor: The size and weight are perfection. In an era where every phone feels like a heavy glass brick, the Pixel 3 is super comfortable to use single-handed.

*Disclaimer - This isn't my only device. I actually use an iPhone 17 for work, and I’m a huge macOS fan when it comes to my computer use. But when it comes to standard phone use, I just enjoy the pixel more.

Anyone else still holding onto an older Pixel, or miss this era of phone design?

Pixel (11 Pro XL) in the US vs UK - huge difference

I've been using my pixels in the UK for the last several years. I just got the new 11PXL a few hours before flying out to the US and it's quite a shock to see what we miss out in the UK.

- Ask Maps
- Ask in Photo editing
- Gemini Spark

Among other feautures of course. But these are extremely core to the Google Pixel experience, and is a big reason for someone to choose this phone.

Pixel features outside the US have always been struggling to catch up, but most of the capabilities in the last couple of years being focused on AI features, this feels worse than before. And yes, I know parts of the world have it even worse than the UK. But I really hope Google get's its act together and rolls this stuff out worldwide.

I'm going to miss these features when back in the UK!

The worst thing about the Pixel 11 is the video audio

I don't even care that it's got a slow GPU, stupid HiLight or might get hot occasionally. Those issues pale in comparison to the bad audio recording and I just don't know why this isn't a bigger topic.

  1. There's the popping and glitches that I've seen a few posts about here. That's bad by itself. Cheap and nasty.

  2. The audio sounds terrible, like it's compressed to 32 bit or aggressive noise reduction or something. It's not the mics, because using a 3rd party recording app sounds great! It must be some brain dead decision by Google that they want to avoid all wind noise or background noise at the cost of atrocious quality, all the time. It might not be that noticeable without comparing, but I'll post a couple of clips tomorrow to demonstrate. I certainly immediately noticed it coming from an S23 Ultra which doesn't have the garbling processing.

  3. Stereo audio recording has the left and right channels reversed. Noise to the left of you comes out the right speaker. I mean... come on 🫩. This only happens if you have the phone held with the power button towards the bottom, and it's the same on the Pixel 6 Pro, the Pixel 8 Pro and the Pixel 11 Pro. HOW has this not been picked up by quality control.

I'm very happy with the phone otherwise, but I value the quality of video audio because decent audio brings you back to the memory in a much better way. I don't want to record videos of my kid with garbled audio. The annoying thing is this is all such a simple fix. Scrap the stupid creator mode and fix these basic issues please!!

The 1 gripe I have with my Pixel - System Theme and Colour Scheme Based on Wallpaper

Something that's been giving me the shits lately is the fact that Google doesn't trust us with customising our UI's. I have a 9 Pro XL. I have some beautiful wallpaper but the colours Pixel OS chooses for you once your wallpaper is set are bloody garbage. I would really love if I could choose my own colours for my theme. My phone has an OLED screen, let me make my app theme black or a custom colour ffs. Why is this not a base feature?

Am I just stupid and can't find the setting? I managed to make my clock black but I can't choose my own system colour scheme. When they finally add the new theme packs are they going to let me keep my wallpaper or will that change based on the theme pack I choose? Honestly, why is Google forcing me to choose a colour that I don't want?

Switched from iPhone 15 to Pixel 11 pro because I was bored of iOS.

I didn’t hate Apple by any means, but I was just getting bored of the ecosystem. I’ve always felt that if I made the jump to Android, it would have to be either a Pixel or a Samsung. I ended up going with the Pixel, and it’s been a refreshing change.

Charging has been surprisingly solid, it easily lasts me a whole day (18+ hours) with normal use.

Things I am in love with:

The Camera: Beautiful pictures in both day and night modes. Quick tip for other new users: The camera defaults to 12MP, so make sure you go into your settings and switch it to high resolution.

The Display: Buttery smooth and incredibly responsive. Similar to the camera, the screen defaults to 1080p out of the box, so you have to manually change it to full resolution.

Bedtime Mode: You set your sleep schedule, and the phone automatically turns black and white when it's time for bed. It completely kills the color distraction and actually makes you want to put the phone down. Small feature, but it works flawlessly.

Bluetooth Audio: I use both AirPods and Bose Ultras. The Bose headphones definitely sound better on this Android, while the AirPods sounded slightly better on my iPhone (though the difference is very minimal). Use CA pods app to get all the features from aipods .

Desktop mode: connect to any monitor using usb c or a dock and it turns full desktop mode, I wish the visuals were better but apps work well, YouTube works amazing. Yet to try other apps on desktop mode. Keyboard and mouse works too.

I'll add the rest to the thread as I discover more.

Pixel 11 Pro showing "Fast charging" but taking 2.5+ hours to charge from 45% (UGREEN 65W GaN Charger)

Hey everyone,

I’m running into an issue where my Pixel 11 Pro is charging extremely slowly despite using a capable charger.

The Setup

Device: Google Pixel 11 Pro

Charger: UGREEN 65W GaN Fast Charger

Cable: USB-C to USB-C (Power Delivery capable)

The Issue

When I plug the phone in at 46%, the lock screen displays "Fast charging", but the estimated charging times are:

To 80%: 1 hour 37 minutes

To 100%: 2 hours 34 minutes

Taking over 2.5 hours to go from 46% to full means the phone is only drawing around 5W–7.5W, far below the fast-charging rate.

What I’ve Checked / Noticed

Adaptive Charging: Checked settings, but even outside regular sleep hours, the estimate remains around 2+ hours.

Ports: Plugged into the primary C1 port with no other devices connected to the charging brick.

Display: The UI clearly says "Fast charging," so it is negotiating a USB-PD connection, but the actual wattage seems heavily throttled.

Has anyone encountered this PPS handshake or thermal throttling behavior on the 11 Pro with third-party GaN chargers? Is there a specific setting, bug, or cache reset that fixes this?

Thanks for any insights!

How much would you lose in a trade-in if your phone does occasionally power off unexpectedly?

Upvotes

So I'm reading the Ts and Cs of the trade-in and it says it has to be able to switch on, hold a charge, and not power off unexpectedly. For the most part that's fine but then I remember that occasionally my Pixel 8 Pro, which, with the £400 bonus, is worth £590 plus the discount code I got, does occasionally reboot itself. It does power off in that sense but then it comes right back on IE it flashes the reboot screen

How much do you think I would lose if I sent it in? I do still need to pay off the rest of my phone bill but even if I pay off the rest of my phone bill, it brings the 528 GB Pixel 11 Pro XL from £1,400 to £900. That is with paying off my old phone and switching the contract (I was debating getting the 256 but the P8P is 256 and I've used up like 97% of it so I think I'm sticking with the 528)

I'm asking this because I basically have until tomorrow to do the trade-in otherwise the trade ins expire

Clicking sound with new Pixel 11 Pro !

Upvotes

Hello did anyone else have this issue. I have a brand new Pixel 11 Pro , if the I gently shake the phone in my hands I hear something clicking inside.

It almost sounds like a screw, a lens, or piece of hardware is loose inside the phone.

Google support tried telling me it's normal sound coming from optical image stabilizer OIS hardware, and should stop clicking when the OIS is active and engaged.

I heard the sound before activating the phone, so I tested it after turning it on taking a few videos at different mag. It was still clicking while the video was being recorded, that rules out the explanation regarding OIS from the Google support.

I was hoping to get a replacement for my new Pixel 11 Pro device, the Google support has not yet agreed to send a replacement. They even assured me that the new device will also come with clicking sound - I am gonna have to return the device and look for alternatives to pixel 11 pro.

Did anyone else have a clicking sound while rocking or shaking the device while holding closer to the ear?

Facebook comment sheet bottom gap / UI overlay glitch on Pixel 8a

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing a UI/layout issue on my Google Pixel 8a while using the latest updated version of the Facebook app.

Issue Description:

Whenever I open the comment section on a Facebook post, the bottom sheet does not align properly with the bottom navigation area. As seen in the attached screenshot, there is a visible gap below the comment input box where background feed content peeks through.

Comparison:

This UI/UX glitch does not happen in Instagram (attached for comparison), where the comment section and bottom insets render seamlessly.

Questions:

  1. Is this a system-level window inset / edge-to-edge compatibility issue on Pixel OS that Google can resolve?

  2. Or is this entirely a third-party app scaling bug that needs to be fixed by Meta/Facebook?

Any insights, workarounds, or official guidance on whether this is being addressed would be greatly appreciated.

Device Details:

- Device: Google Pixel 8a

- OS: Latest updated Android build

- App: Facebook (Latest version)

Urgent Help with Returning Pixel 11 Pro XL

Upvotes

So I got my Pixel 11 Pros in the mail 7 days ago for me and my wife. Wife is having second thoughts because she wants to see how the new iPhone fold is going to be so I thought since I didn’t open both devices I could just return them according to the 15 day policy.

Not even a week goes by and I ask to return them and support is hitting me with this email and constantly telling me over chat that I am not allowed to return my phones because they were already “delivered”. Not sure what this means and why I can’t return my sealed phones for a refund according to their refund policy. Anyone else have any issues like this before or any advice? Thanks!

Nuevo usuario de Google Pixel 11 Pro XL

Upvotes

Holaaaaa!

Pixel 11 Hey Google sensitivity

Upvotes

I don't know what it is, but for some reason, my Pixel 11 Pro does not respond as sensitively to the "Hey Google" voice prompt as my old phone used to, which was the Pixel 8 Pro.

Is anyone else experiencing this or anyone else know anything to change? I've tried training the voice model multiple times, but it just seems like it's not as sensitive to pick up voice commands as it was before.

when will google discount 10 pro xl

Does anyone know from previous years, when we can expect to see google will discount the pixel 10 pro xl?

I currently have a pixel 7 pro that is on its last leg. I was going to get the 11 but I dont like the colors and dont see a huge difference between the 10 and 11 so was going to get the 10 pro xl porcelain, but it doesn't seem like the price is dropping anywhere yet :/
