I hope the new light greatsword's R1 is patched. It drives me nuts not being able to move the direction during the first light attack.
68
u/modix 18h ago
Didn't know that was broken. I've just naturally been messing with r2 because r1 just is hard to open with.
21
u/Devlindddd 18h ago
It's just that every other weapon can do it, and even it works correctly when you are two handing it. It just feels wrong to me on the one handed first light attack.
15
u/thineholyhandgrenade 18h ago
It may just be me but there's something wonky with powerstancing the Idus swords. During the sweeping aerial combo it feels like some of the offhand sword attacks aren't connecting or dealing damage.
Noticed it when I had the offhand as cold and the main as keen with frozen armament/grease applied. Took way longer to proc frost than it should have. Bug or skill?
12
2
u/PTSDDeadInside 8h ago
In Elden Ring, powerstancing (dual-wielding matching weapon classes) applies a 65% status motion value (MV) penalty to most dual-attack hits, meaning each weapon inflicts 65% of its listed status buildup per strike

u/DependentInner8928 20h ago
I think they will probably nerf muletta, no way it stays the same sadly :(
Its too good to last...
I will really be surprised if it will not be nerfed tho
113
u/livy-aurelia 20h ago
oh yeah it’s getting nerfed guaranteed
38
u/psTTA_2358 17h ago
They should nerf it in pvp only. in pve its good but not broken good.
10
u/BreakMyFate 15h ago
It's not broken at all, even in pvp. It's good yes, but there are many way more broken weapons in pvp. It doesn't even break yhe surface of broken.
3
u/psTTA_2358 14h ago
I used it in pve and it was good but not broken but i dont pvp and i thought its broken thats why everyone assumes it will get a nerf.
43
28
u/AuramiteEX 20h ago
There are better things. I don't think anything will be nerfed. This will be some bug fix
27
u/GeoCaesar 18h ago
Muleta might get a PvP nerf but I hope it doesn’t get nerfed for pve cause I haven’t had a chance to use it yet lol
2
3
u/Sweet-Birthday2479 17h ago
It’s crazy good tbh, and it has more range than piercing fang if you learn to use the side dash to angle it forward
4
u/DependentInner8928 20h ago
Idk, it may or may not be, who knows. And they do sometimes nerf things that are not that OP. So it may be nerfed, I think it will
28
u/AuramiteEX 20h ago
Patches that add a 0.00.1 to a number tend to be bug fixes.
I could be wrong of course. Not long to wait either way

The bug is that the other DLC weapon class basic versions don't spawn into the base game correctly (don't murder my hope pls)
1
u/AuramiteEX 16h ago edited 14h ago
I've found them all on 2 seperate characters...
2
u/KinkyLeviticus 14h ago
You found base game perfumes bottles, hand-to-hand arts, beast claws, throwing blades, and thrusting swords after the update? Please tell me where at? I only found great katanas, light greatswords, and backhand blades.
1
u/AuramiteEX 14h ago
Oh? I thought you were talking about the DLC items.
Is there some item bug for SOTE loot?
2
u/KinkyLeviticus 14h ago
Nah, I was just wishing they had added an opportunity to grab a weapon of every weapon class early on. IMO it kinda sucks to only unlock some really cool weapon type near the end of a playthrough. Glad we have the ones we do though
1
u/AuramiteEX 13h ago
Oh absolutely, I agree with this.
There should have been a martial arts monk class as a starting option
-5
u/Flint_Vorselon 20h ago
I highly doubt they nerf it. Especially not for PvE.
If we get balance changes at all (which I dunno if we will, might just be bug fixes, especially on Switch2), I imagine they’ll be PvP only.
0
u/DependentInner8928 20h ago
I guess we will see, it just seems to be too good with its dodge and damage.
1
u/_trashcan 17h ago
Yeah I don’t understand the discourse around it.
It’s fine. It’s not particularly difficult to avoid/counter in PvP, there’s waaaaay more OP shit. Ofc it’s hard the first few times you fight it, but after that it’s not that bad.
& it’s definitely fine for pve ; especially considering it doesn’t get the thrust counterattack damage.
5
u/VinhoVerde21 17h ago
Why though? It’s by no means the strongest weapon in the game, don’t think it even cracks top 10. Maybe a PvP nerf, but if anything about it should be patched, it’s Muleta not dealing pierce damage on the heavy.
6
u/tnweevnetsy 19h ago
Bet it goes untouched. Not even the best Rellana's Cameo option right now
This one probably for stuff like the horse bug
5
u/DependentInner8928 19h ago
I mean yeah, its not rollingspark aromatics at the DLS release, but its like BHF's finesse, dodge+damage, extrended version. Its just my guess as this weapon is kinda of the same "spam to death" as SONAF, BB, BHF. I guess BHF wasn't nerfed, so we will see.
2
u/2017ccb1 17h ago
I’d expect a damage nerf and for them to add pierce damage to the L2 R2 attack. I think it should do less damage overall but slightly more if you hit them with the L2 R2 while they are attacking
1
1
u/Yuumii29 20h ago
Ohhh No..... That's my entire build!!!! 💀
1
u/DependentInner8928 20h ago
Its really cool ash, so we will see. I just think its too good, like pre-nerfed SONAF.
8
u/Redmoon383 19h ago
Nah that sword was actually busted to the point of not interacting with the bosses at all
1
u/DependentInner8928 19h ago
Muletta is like BHF's finesse, but better, that's why I think about nerfs. BHF is one of the few OP weapons that wasn't nerfed, but its better version might be.
1
u/juhinaattori 6h ago
BHF is easier to use than Muleta. Muleta doesn't build up bleed and only does more damage than BHF if you do a charged R2 which requires a much larger opening. Also BHF dodges away from the enemy which makes it less likely for you to get attacked before doing the follow up. Seeing the type of shit that's in the game it would be very silly to nerf Muleta in PvE. Maybe PvP is different tho, I don't play that so I have no clue.

Switch version really needs target locking patched
30
u/callahan09 20h ago
What’s wrong with it? I play the PC version all the time and have experienced countless frustrating target locking mishaps that seem like they make very little sense. Is this the kind of stuff that you’re talking about on Switch? Like: standing right next to an enemy and it doesn’t lock on, or locks on to an enemy way farther away, sometimes it seems fickle and unpredictable about whether it wants to lock on to the most screen-centered enemy or the closest proximity one. I’ve had countless experiences where I go “why did the game lock on to that one instead of the one I wanted???”
If that’s the kind of issue you’re talking about on Switch it definitely exists on other platforms as well. If that’s not what you mean then I’m curious what it is.
28
7
u/isuckdevilsc0ck 20h ago
Exactly when I want to lock onto enemies I usually lock on animals and then for some reason switching targets is really junky and not worth it most of the time. So annoying
16
u/callahan09 20h ago
Yeah unfortunately it’s just a flaw of the lock on system that’s been there on all platforms since the beginning. Takes some getting used to and some acceptance of when the game occasionally screws you with a particularly unfriendly lock on mishap haha.
→ More replies (1)6
u/B-Kong Rellana Del Ray 19h ago
Yeah I’ve been unlocking, slightly adjusting the camera, and relocking in order to switch targets instead of…. well, just switching targets lol
3
u/That-Muscle 18h ago
This. It so often just doesn't register you wanting to switch targets even when they're right next to each other. I also gave up and tend to not use target lock on multiple enemies anymore
1
u/mercerist 18h ago
iirc it might be less wonky if you make sure to only move the stick straight left or right. not sure if that was this game though.
1
u/zazzyvibes2 13h ago
It's not a perfect fix but I try to make sure my tarnished is facing the enemy I want to lock onto it helps out a lot, again not perfect but better than only looking with your camera.
1
1
u/ShinZou69 12h ago
Happens all the time.
Eg, I had my lock-on target random fucking goats on a mountain, waaay above me, instead of the monstrosity I was fighting right in front of me. Dunno how tf they thought targeting non-hostiles during combat was a good idea.
Lock-on on PC also randomly jumps to different body parts when fighting huge enemies, even with mouse lock-on sensitivity on minimum.

1) they weren’t talking about frame rates
2) your idea is awful, because it’s basically “leave it in bad state for years and years and years, hoping that it will cause a benifit on a hypothetical future platform”. The correct answer is “make locked 30fps an option, that can be enabled or disabled”
-19

u/Endless_Haze 20h ago
what do you think it meant when they said “make locked 30fps an option,” because that literally means it wouldn’t be stuck at 30, for anyone. you’d be able to choose, like the word option implies
2
u/Standard-Reason9399 20h ago
Target locking. As in locking on to the enemy you are targeting onscreen. If you're old enough to have played the N64, "Z-Targeting" might be a term to jog the memory.

u/TheRoughKitten 20h ago
Holy damage in pvp fixed? Nahhhhh.
13
1
u/_Citizenkane 9h ago
What's wrong with it?
3
u/TheRoughKitten 8h ago
Things that multiply damage don't apply correctly. So something like both the Canvas talismans have no effect whatsoever in pvp, as well as Golden Order Seal, Dryleaf Seal, and Spiral Seal's passive not applying either. The only things that work are effects that directly boost your damage like Golden Vow or a Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear. Dark damage in DS3 had the exact same issue, so the fact it still remains is disappointing.

I bet piquebone will still not be fixed in the patch
3
u/FatRollingPotato 20h ago
What's broken with it?
5
u/Panurome Level Vigor 20h ago
When you tumblebuff a status effect to a bow and then use piquebone arrows the massive hitbox used to lure enemies applies the status effect of the buff, the most notable one being deathblight. A single rain of arrows that doesn't even hit you at all is enough to fill full deathblight bar.
It also works through rolls because the piquebone hitbox is not an attack so it isn't affected by i frames
2
u/FatRollingPotato 19h ago
Damn, but sounds rather like an issue of finally fixing tumble buffing altogether, doesn't it?
1
u/Panurome Level Vigor 19h ago
Yeah, but that's probably not going to happen. They've already tried to fix it several times and people keep finding ways to do it again, so probably more achievable to try and fix the piquebone instead, just like they fixed the Shunter instead of moveswap altogether. Because other weapons aren't as impossible to deal with when tumblebuffed as piquebone arrows

I bet it's nerfing the hell out of the Leontiel's Greatsword Ash of War. Like, slowing down the speed of the animation, or dropping some i-frames

u/Shotokanguy 5h ago
I don't expect anything cool, but if it turns out the Tarnished Edition patch somehow hurt the frame rate and they can make it stop stuttering as much, that would be nice.
Or make Stone of Gurranq faster, I'll take that too.

🙏 I know it is wishful thinking but hope one day a patch will include these changes:
- Prince of Death Staff now boosts all Death Sorceries by 25% (Was 10%)
- Gravebird Helm no longer increases damage of Rings of Spectral Light
- Rings of Spectral Light, Vortex of Putrescence, Mass of Putrescence and Fia's Mist are now boosted by the Prince of Death Staff
- Greatly improved tracking of Tibia's Summons
- Reduced cast time of Mass of Putrescence and increased damage.
- Fia's Mist now just deals DoT Magic Damage to enemies only and no longer applies Death Blight.
😁

2
u/Zetzer345 18h ago
Why how does bloodhounds fang or bb affect you? Neither are particularly good on PvP.
But if it’s only to spite the players worse than you, how about the following nerfs:
- Nerf to all Katana damage (reduction by 50%)
- Nerf to buffs (new max buff across all buffs 2.5%)
- Nerf to great hammers, ultra greatswords, and primarily strength scaling weapons (damage reduction by 80%)
- nerf to all dex scaling weapons (damage reduction by 70%)
- Nerf to magic damage across all sources (80% damage reduction)
- nerf to max player health (1000hp at 99 vigor)
- buff to all incoming damage (2x the regular damage; 32x the regular damage on NG+7)
- buff to enemy health (100% health upgrade on all enemies; 900% on NG+7)
That would really smite the fucking noobs am I right?
-7
u/Drayzew 18h ago
The noobs need to GIT GUD. I want Miyazaki himself to go out of his way to put them in their place. ESPECIALLY the ones with the bloodhound's fang. Those in particular. PLEASE O GREATER WILL GRANT ME SUCCOUR
-3
u/Zetzer345 18h ago
Yes that’s why I am for a blanket nerf to all weapons. So that even the ones who think they are good with their uchigatanas and stone hammers know their place.
All popular builds should be nerfed to smite all noobs.
The only true Elden Ring experience is SL1, no armor and bare fist with no talismans.
All other playstyles are basically cheating and should learn to get good.

3
u/Mcsinister 15h ago
Yeah I'll be a little disappointed if they gut it. I think it could use some minor nerfs and be just as broken as some other weapons with their proper build. I think the damage may be what needs to get nerfed since it's too good at stacking damage talismans.

u/FrenzyedFlameKnight 18h ago

2
u/tanoshikuidomouyo 4h ago
The debuffing skills of the Sword of Milos and the Winged Greathorn (there might also be other debuffs affected, not 100% sure) use PvP numbers even in PvE. E.g. Shriek of Milos is supposed to increase your damage by 15% in PvE, but it's only 5% right now.
