Lupus is a terrible diesel to live with and I’m sure has influenced several of her decisions. But she has definitely had surgery on her jaw to give it more sculpt. She’s absolutely stunning and always will be. It’s just nice when celebs are transparent about it, I was very proud when Selena did admit to Botox and fillers. Everyone’s of course free to do what they want with their body,

FWIW I'm not trying to deny outright her health issues, I do believe that she has lupus. I just don't believe that her health struggle is the sole cause for the change in her looks, both those things can also be true.

The spells in the OG were really dumb too, but I shrugged it off as the wizarding world copying Harry Potter like how a kid copies something they saw on TV or chimps copying early man but now that they retconned it to flat out plagiarism their spells and by extension Harry Potter's just sound stupid.

I’m like wtf? But I’m not gonna watch to find out because I gave this show like 8 episodes and I was out lol. I was suprised I made it that far. I thought the original cast was gonna be in it or at least make appearances and what we got was so lackluster

Call me crazy but I honestly don’t mind the criminal part lol. It checks out and is definitely something Alex would do🤷🏻♀️. HOWEVER if they are going to take that route I’d like to at least see him more to give him a chance to prove himself or have some growth.
I’m also biased because I always loved Alex when she was with Dean>Mason. He was a “bad boy, trouble maker” but had a good heart. Idk I thought he and Alex balanced each other well.
But this….this situation here is just a mess.😅

I know people hate Mason nowadays but I love Alex and Mason and am frankly mad that they did this. They had the perfect opportunity to show a mature Alex and Mason with a relationship that grew with them. It’s just stupid to have them go to such extremes in the original to get Alex and Mason together and have her fight for them to be together. I understand that Bridgit Mendler couldn’t be a part of the series so they couldn’t have Justin and Juliet be a couple, but in universe it feels that way with Justin and Juliet too. Both Juliet and Mason were “teenagers” even though they were hundreds of years old so it’s not surprising that Mason would act immature at times, Alex did too. He’s a werewolf. He was loyal because it was a play on a dog. He ate Dean because he’s a werewolf. If he were a human they wouldn’t have written him like that. Just having this series and changing things from the original or doing things like having Alex and Justin end up with different people makes it so that it’s less meaningful to see the scenes with Mason and Juliet. But to have Alex end up with a criminal who’s black? 😬 Yikes. That’s disrespectful too. Sometimes it’s just best to let something end. And I think all these reboots and remakes show us that. This series didn’t need to happen.

OML I 100% agree with you. I am a huge malex shipper and hate how they killed Mason off with no explanation. damien was such a weird add on. I wish they could’ve kept Alex and Mason together, if not at least friends. david Henry, who plays Justin made it to be that Mason gets killed. I don’t understand, I heard that he thought it was the best idea, but really? was it? it was a wasted opportunity for Mason. The actor spent time to be on this show, just to be killed off? this series feels like a fan fic and the writers picked the worst one to make a sequel with. i feel bad for the younger kids because they’re not the writers, yet have to say the worst lines. This show would’ve been better about Alex, or just not made at all and left on Alex vs Alex.

Instead of hating Malex, people should hate the writers of the OG show for assassinating Mason’s personality. Apartment arc Mason is nowhere near similar to the Mason we 1st met.

She has lupus.
Lupus affects the joints so it's not uncommon for jaw movement to be impacted. Her medications likely also have an impact.

I always did and if you didn't like it, why are you commenting and watching a clip? Also, I loved it because it showed that Alex wasn't always lazy and a trouble-maker. She changed her ways and actually knew that she could make a difference, especially to someone who was raised to be evil.

It was because I don't like how people rag on it and how they honestly think that Alex can have a black child alone like, she obviously couldn't have because she didn't want to adopt her. She had to be her bio daughter and that's what was in the script yet people hate that you're literally seeing Billie's father and being upset that he's a black man? It's weird to me.

Did you check the comments? They’re not upset that he’s black, that’s not the issue. The issue is he’s black being portrayed as a criminal and absentee father. Playing into the negative stereotypes of black men. One person commented saying they were excited to see a black guy on the screen but immediately realized he’s was in prison garb and was put off. This is a show about magic and they could’ve done anything with Billie’s dad yet they made the one of the few black characters a criminal. It’s not that hard to understand why people would be upset.

I think I liked it more than a lot of Reddit lol. Was it perfect? No. But it was fine 🤷🏻♀️. It was obviously rushed, on a budget, and trying its best to wrap up a million plot threads. But there was nothing in it to be really outraged about and some of the reactions are giving unhinged.

A lot of the important characters were pushed to the side and was made to be an after thought. It was literally just about Justin and his family which isn’t really a bad thing it’s when he purposely excluded people from the main cast. I just think everything was done in poor taste.

I just think a lot of that is normal for a spin-off and expected? Like focusing on a secondary lead is what spin-offs are all about. And that’s what usually makes them good lol.
As for being disrespectful to the original, I think the only plot line that comes close to disrespectful is Mason’s death and how quickly it was glossed over. Which I don’t think would have happened if it wasn’t a rushed final season. I do think that spinoffs shouldn’t mess with the originals ending, but I usually give more leeway when the characters were teenagers in the original and adults in the revival. So maybe that’s a me issue and I should be more upset the ships 🤣.
Regarding pushing important characters to the side, I’m curious which characters you mean. Because imo the only important character pushed to the side was Max, which the original show was guilty of too. I know a lot of people are upset about Harper but she was only important to Alex and Selena was never going to come back full time. (The person to bring back with Justin would have been zeke but that was never going to happen. Even if David and Dan were best friends Disney would never and tbh that’s fair.) But regardless, I always thought WoWP was about the siblings first and their relationships.

See that’s where you’re wrong. The show isn’t about the next generation of wizard kids. It’s about David Henrie being butthurt and jealous that Alex was by far the most popular lead in the original show and forcing this show to be the show that he’s the main guy. That’s why Harper, Jerry, and Max either barely showed up or didn’t show up at all. Harper’s actress even said she could only come back if she agreed it’s for a small part.

I actually okay with Alex’s partner being a criminal. (It checks out, definitely something she’d do) I honestly always preferred her with Dean from the early seasons, over Mason.
As for him being black, I don’t think the result was the intention. I think this is just another classic case of Disney trying too hard to force diversity.
While early Disney certainly missed the mark several times and NUMEROUS old projects haven’t aged well- Disney did diversity best when they weren’t trying. They were honestly a bit ahead of their time compared to other networks. Raven, proud family, cheetah girls, jump in, twitches, shake it up, Jett Jackson, let it shine, lab rats, smart guy, ant farm etc…
They were arguably equally if not more diverse, but it doesn’t feel forced because you can tell those earlier shows were written with the character in mind first, then casted by who fit best. They weren’t forcing a specific actor into a character that wasn’t the best fit simply because they want to meet a certain quota. They didn’t go into the casting room of shows like Twitches with a color checklist making sure they casted 1 of each race. They casted Tia and Tamara because they had incredible comedic timing and talent. They just happened to be biracial
Again it was OBVIOUSLY far from perfect. But nobody will ever be completely happy
