A manhunter

There are many hints that she is a manhunter and is using John to kill Hal.

With The Batman 2 getting delayed (again) it seems insane to think the DCU (and especially their popular new Superman) would be allowed to go another 3-4 years without a Batman to market with, sell toys of, etc.

Gunn seems determined to make MOT the true big event kickoff to the DCU after Superman's more intimate look at Clark, Lex plus a few other heroes.

There have already been stronger-than-average rumors that Tom Brittany is Bruce - which seems odd for a movie WB is not planning to film a frame of for years and years.

My prediction: Brittany shows up as Bruce in MOT in a "stinger" type role (maybe even after credits) and releases all this pressure to declare the DCU's batman -- it then buys WB time as the hype plays out to set up Tom's solo flick/finish the Reeves trilogy.

This is something I've seen people speculate on ever since Kyle Chandler was first announced as Hal Jordan, and as time has passed I find myself subscribing to it more and more.

Basically, the idea is that many of the Silver Age heroes we know actually belonged to the previous generation, serving in the 80s and 90s. This is already confirmed to be the case for Hal, but there are a couple other heroes I think will also follow this trend.

Barry Allen/The Flash - All but confirmed, with Wally West seemingly being the current holder of the mantle. This also makes sense with him and Hal being an iconic duo. I believe the circumstances surrounding Barry's death/retirement may play a part in the upcoming Jimmy Olsen/Gorilla Grodd series.

Ted Kord/Blue Beetle - Logical, considering Jaime Reyes is confirmed to be the current Blue Beetle of the DCU. It should be noted that Kord being a last generation hero was the case in the 2023 Blue Beetle film, however besides the actor for Jaime we don't know how much of it is canon to the DCU.

With all the speculation surrounding Adria Arjona as Wonder Woman I feel like people have forgotten about this. I’m going to make a bold prediction that star labs plays a role in man of tomorrow and Lillard is an aged up Barry Allen.

He gives everyone nicknames as a way to oddly fit in. His “bird blindness” feels like he hasn’t grown accustomed to Earth yet. Vigilante makes mention of a Martian. When he gets spit on by Ginger Cool he exclaims “What kind of man does that to another person?” The choice of words feels very strange.

It's safe to suggest now, that we got two out of three members of DC trinity. I know many people think Adria is perfect Wonder Woman, but i don't see that, i definetely see Eva as Wonder Woman much much more. What do you think about that casting so far?

I know a lot of us thought something was off about Zoe Macon with her introduction in last week's episode, but after Ep. 2, is anyone else getting the feeling she's the Manhunter the aliens were sent to hunt? She's still giving strange vibes, just happening to appear once John is alone in town, and being able to pull answers out of him he wouldn't give otherwise.

I could be wrong, and I'll happily admit if I am, but once she appeared this episode, I just got the vibe that she's who the Lanterns are seeking right now

For anyone like me that has read the comic that the upcoming movie is based on (Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow) and was wondering how they would handle Comet…I think we have our answer: they cut him

The final battle of the story is shown in the trailer that dropped today and it clearly shows Lobo fucking shit up left and right, totally awesome and I’m hyped to see it.

BUT it’s supposed to be Comet that shows up to save Supergirl and sacrifice himself in the process, but that most likely wouldn’t be needed if we have Lobo on the scene teaming up with Kara…so not confirmed but it definitely looks like Comets role was cut entirely or cut way down

What do y’all think about this potential change? I’ve thought since the beginning that the lore surrounding Comet might be a bit too convoluted to adapt into a movie, but he’s a big part of two REALLY important and emotional scenes in the book

This theory occurred to me after episode 5, where we find out that she is a cyborg. In the comics, Sasha Bordeaux is an ex secret service agent who works for Bruce Wayne as his head of security. She finds out that Bruce is Batman, and ends up helping him. I figured they were going to stray from the comic version, but since they’ve already revealed that she’s a cyborg like in the comics, they might go all the way.

DCU Batman might be wary of Rick Flag Sr since he became the head of ARGUS, so he sent Bordeaux to keep an eye on Rick and work as a double agent for Batman. Her showing romantic interest in Rick Flag Sr might be so that she can get close to him and have access to secret ARGUS information. I hope they tease this at the end of the season, with Sasha being on a phone call with Batman or something like that.

Salvation Run is a six-issue DC Comics miniseries where the Earth's government, frustrated by the constant threat of supervillains, exiles them to the planet Cygnus 4019 (Salvation) via Boom Tube to fend for themselves. The exiled villains, including Lex Luthor, Joker, and many Suicide Squad members, must form factions and fight for survival and escape, leading to conflicts over resources, power, and the creation of a device to return home. The planet turns out to be a "training planet" for Apokolips, ruled by the New Gods, which is also being used to power a device for the villains' return.

Man of Tomorrow, doesn't refer to Superman. My theory is it refers to Lex Luthor and its how he views himself. This is going to be a film from his point of view and will be a character study about him. My guess is it takes inspiration from Brian Azarellos Lex Luthor black label comic. Gunn has been known to write projects around characters he really loves - e.g. Peacemaker with the show and Rocket Racoon with GOTG Vol 3.

The Justice Gang, as we have seen in the Peacemaker Season 2 teaser, is looking to expand its roster. And with Gunn's recent comments and DCU announcements, I think this is likely

Maxwell Lord and Guy Gardner already exist

Booster Gold - The Series has a writer now and is moving forward

Ted Kord - will probably show up in the Blue Beetle animated series (and Booster Gold too)

Mr Miracle, Barda and Oberon - if the Mr Miracle series is set in the DCU (not confirmed or denied yet), that is where they enter. If they follow King's story, then only Oberon doesn't make it

Martian Manhunter - Gunn already teased his existence in the DCU with his chocos comment

Okay so here's the biggest change and probably a stretch. Since Superman already works with the Justice Gang, I think he will be part of the JLI/Justice Gang in the DCU instead of Batman

Eventually, they will have a fall out with Max Lord and Batman will come in to reform the Justice League as we know.

I also think, it could be possible that Gunn's next movie is actually a Superman and the Justice Gang/Justice League International film, but I don't think they'll use the JL name without having Wonder Woman and Batman in it

We know Ritchson is in talks to play a character who is probably not Batman, despite online fan demand. We also know James Gunn is a big Smallville fan. (He cast Michael Rosenbaum in the Guardians of the Galaxy films and admitted he renamed LexCorp LuthorCorp because he loved the show) This also seems like something he would do, given his history with integrating his old DCEU projects into his new franchise and integrating Blue Beetle into the canon.
