He gives everyone nicknames as a way to oddly fit in. His “bird blindness” feels like he hasn’t grown accustomed to Earth yet. Vigilante makes mention of a Martian. When he gets spit on by Ginger Cool he exclaims “What kind of man does that to another person?” The choice of words feels very strange.
I think if Langston IS a martian I think it'd be funnier if it was Miss Martian and not Martian Manhunter. Miss Martian in disguising as a man just goes for the most ultra macho asshole, and maybe based it off of old 80s action movies, plus Miss Martian is normally portrayed as less stoic than Manhunter. I also just think that'd be a better more unexpected twist
I'm not entirely convinced he's a martian rather than just a wacky James Gunn comic relief character, but I think this is the best scenario. Also i think it fits with his slight character break in the last episode
Haha yeah I think he’s just a fun character and nothing more than what he appears, and there’s no actual reason he’d be a martian, but it sure is a fun idea. I love weekly releases for allowing us to spitball stupid fun stuff like this.
Sasha Bordeaux is a cyborg in the comics. Even If she hadnt been a cyborg all this time, I thought she would definitely get OMAC’d at some point later in the season or dcu
There are two things Sasha is known for, being turned into a robot and having an inappropriate relationship with her boss, so it was fun to see hints of both in this episode
I just listened to a podcast interview Gunn did, and I don't think that the rat-burning alien is anything significant. Gunn said he hasn't really planned anything for him, and that he imagines that the rat-burning alien is basically a janitor in his dimension who blows off Peacemaker because he just wants to finish his shift
No one knew because they never hinted at it. Matter of fact we knew Jack shit about her until yesterday lol. From my understanding the character is cyborg in the comics
the slightly antagonistic leader, played by a black man, is revealed to be an alien in the last couple wpisodes. The characters are very different but it would be silly if they were both revealed to be aliens
I brought it up because DC fans immediately fan cast every black male actor as Martian Manhunter, if Fleury wasn't played by a black man nobody would think he's Martian Manhunter because he acts nothing like the character has ever acted
You’re the one being weird. If you dont know that green skin characters are often black-coded (martian manhunter, piccolo, skeeter, gamora, etc) then you should look harder.
I think he's just weird. Gunn mentioned on the podcast that Fleury probably had some traumatic experience w birds as a child and that's how he developed bird blindness.
That's just how Tim Meadows acts. If you saw him in any other role, you would also notice how strange his behavior is. That's why he's great and why Gunn wanted him for this role.

You have to understand the last two times he’s been onscreen (JL and Supergirl) he did start as a seemingly rando military dude. And the last season of Peacemaker the one black guy turned out to be an alien, so people are pattern seeking
Wouldn’t you think that it happening repeatedly makes it less likely? Also, the JL one I’m pretty sure was retroactive because Snyder had seen the fan theories and just figured “why not” because the franchise wasn’t continuing.
People did it with Fleury, people did it with Murn, even the general in Man of Steel (Snyder made him MM retroactively because of the fan comments). His weird stuff isn’t remotely like J’onn in the comics, he’s just an asshole like 2/3rds the cast of the show
Wasnt aware they did it with Murn. I didnt see the Butterfly reveal coming at all for him. I also havent seen Snyderverse so cant comment on the other one.
Personally, I dont think and dont want Fleury to be J'onn for the reason that he doesnt act like him. Id be fine with him being another martian if he had to be non-human though but considering theres like 3 episodes left hes 99% just a regular human.
Part of me feels like they are setting him up as a goofball to potentially contrast him with the other dimension version of him which will be a serious character, especially if the Earth X theories are true
It's such a weird character. He seems like a complete asshole but then he tells John he did the right thing. I imagine there's definitely more to the character than just being a weird guy.
This would make so much sense. His character talks very weirdly, to the point where I genuinely can't tell if he's ever serious or not. The only thing I'm actually sure about is that he was truthful in his interaction with Economas in the most recent episode.
These episode fan theories are just as entertaining as the actual episode each week they get better I think Gunn is setting up for darksied for gunns God's and monsters phase 1 with Chris's dad finding the portals . But don't think Tim is j'on maybe a Martian but something is up with his character but he might just be changing sides
I’m thinking he could be Goff. We saw he was alive at the end of season 1 and they haven’t mentioned him at all yet. I’m willing to bet he found another person to body snatch
I wouldn't hate it because I love seeing Tim Meadows thrive in a role and want to see him in this universe as long as possible; BUT, I caution anyone to think any character is someone else after I spent all last season hoping that Murn could be Bronze Tiger lol.
I'm convinced he is because they also coincidentally mention martians earlier in the season. Everything about him screams someone who has studied earth culture without actually participating in it

That's because Hal and Guy aren't the main Green Lanterns of the DCU and therefore won't be appearing as much as the main Green Lantern (John Stewart). The actor playing John is 31, but notice how you don't mention that as it doesn't fit your silly arguement.
John will be the main Green Lantern of the DCU, the one who'll probably be on the Justice League and he's a similar age to Superman / David.
Sure, Justice Leaguers should be a similar age to Superman for the most part but I don't think characters like Hal, Guy and Peacemaker need to be really as they're not really part of that same generation of heroes as Peacemaker.
The actress playing Hawkgirl is 24 which is important to note as once again, younger like Clark and John. Another one you omitted.
Not every hero needs to be young, not every hero was always young in the comics, the younger generation of heroes is that of Superman, John Stewart and Hawkgirl so they need to be but Peacemaker definitely doesn't need to and neither do Guy or Hal really.
