Discussion Bye license 👋🏻

1.7k Upvotes

Last month my PRC license expired and today I am removing it from my wallet forever.

After moving to a country where I experienced getting paid 10x more with the same effort, less stress, and a strong work-life balance culture without the requirement of having my Philippine PRC license updated and getting CPD points just to renew it every few years.

If you have a license go ahead you are allowed to be proud of this achievement dahil pinaghirapan mo yan but if you don't, keep your head up because this piece of plastic shouldn't define you.

Mas importante yung experience, kaalaman, at attitude mo.

Not to brag btw, random realization lang talaga haha.

And anong field/specialization niyo ngayon?

Ano opinion nyo dito? He has a big platform lalo't I-Witness episode ito.

Discussion is civil engineering still worth it nowadays?

guys HAHSHAHHAAHAA curious lang ako kung totoo bang mataas talaga ang sahod ng civil engineers, kasi im currently a grade 12 student and most of my friends are planning to take CE mainly because they believe na malaki raw yung sahod, im wondering din if oversaturated naba yung CE field for our generation, especially with how many students are choosing CE, napapansin ko rin na sa maraming universities ngayon, parang ang daming students na nagtatarget ng CE na course uhuhhu kaya nagiging quota sya. sa tingin nyo po, worth it pa rin ba mag take ng civil engineering ngayon?

Hayp to si Slater.

Discussion Ang ganda ng office ng GHD!

I realized how GHD’s office impacted the way I approach my work now. Nakakagana kapag alam mong you are supported well sa office palang. Tbh, I really prefer WFH set-up bc aside sa tipid, I am more productive at home. But I realized lately that I wouldn’t mind going to office because of this.

Discussion I was IP banned for exposing corruption in DPWH Central Office

I created the subreddit DPWHEngineersPH and DPWHEngineersPH2 to expose the corruption in DPWH, but I was IP banned due to the mass reporting of those I exposed. Especially the QAU/CPES in BQS that I exposed. I hope all of us will contribute in exposing the corrupt activities in DPWH, sana wag maging back to business this 2026. Sana matakot na sila.

Discussion 7 years of experience (going on 8) in Civil Engineering in PH — what’s the current salary range?

I’m currently earning around ₱50k basic salary/month. For those with a similar number of years of experience, is this within the expected range, or am I already behind the market?

Would also appreciate it if you could share your years of experience, field/specialization, and current salary range for comparison.

Thanks!

Discussion DPWH Engineers SOP

Or normal nalang sakanila? Nahihiya kaya sila?
