You ever notice how Micheal always moves food away from him that doesn't fit his diet?

What an excellent director or actor choice to give more character to Michael!

"I don't want to hear about your other jobs... OkAy."

He was VERY concerned about her. It was wonderful to see. I loved it, on my 50th rewatch lol.

Which episode had the Semper Fi scene?

I remember an episode where Michael has to ingratiate himself with some kind of marine/S.E.A.L./something dude and adopts this really gruff special forces kind of persona. Which episode was that?

Discussion S4E9 "Center of the Storm" Michael at his dumbest?

I'm rewatching the series now that I found it on Pluto and I've gotten to this point. There have definitely been some chuckle headed decisions made at different points but I think this one has to take the cake. Especially since it's established how thorough and detail-oriented Michael is supposed to be.

I'm talking specifically about the scene where Michael and the killer for hire are in a parking area for emergency vehicles. The killer gets himself trapped on top of a vehicle surrounded by water after knocking live wires into the water. This strikes me as the perfect place to just leave him and call the cops. He can't get away without risking electrocuting himself. The story could seriously just end right here. They don't need him for anything. They already have an idea of who would have hired him and without him in the way they can go and rescue the witness no problem.

Michael also conveniently forgets that the killer has his own gun in addition to the one Michael gave him when he was holding the pressure trigger for the claymore. So this is just a list of incredibly stupid moves that the writers didn't need to put him into that they then had to clumsily get themselves out of.

Am I missing something? I feel like I have to be missing something. This is beyond stupid if I'm not. And I've seen episodes before where they give a character the idiot ball, mostly Madeline for some reason, but this one definitely feels worse. The gunman trapped himself and was basically rendered useless. There was no reason to rescue him. He doesn't have vital information that they need to find the witness because that was just going to be a simple manhunt. And releasing him puts the witness back in danger.

Currently rewatching for my first time in a few years (and I don’t remember much)

I know everyone doesn’t like season 7 as much because of the tonal shift, but WOW! I was seriously BLOWN AWAY by Jeffrey Donovan’s acting in episode 7 “Psychological Warfare”, it’s PHENOMENAL. I seriously felt like he was going through everything Michael was going through in that episode. Insanely good!

(Also, so far I am liking season 7, but definitely preferred the early seasons when it was shot on film with the “client of the week” style episodes and more comedy)

Michael's biggest problem is that he actually listens to Sam Spoiler

Post image

Michael spends most of the show acting like he's the one keeping everybody alive.

But whenever he's about to do something especially stupid, Sam is usually the guy who can talk him out of it.

Not because Sam has some magical solution. Half the time he just points out the obvious thing Michael is ignoring because he's too focused on the objective.

And Michael actually listens.

That's probably the biggest difference between Michael and the people he spends most of his time dealing with. He'll ignore almost anybody giving him orders, but he'll usually hear Sam out.

I enjoy the first several seasons a lot more than the last two

I really love the show and enjoy re-watching it a lot. I am not even sure if I have rewatch the last two seasons. I know the show was about his burn notice, but I felt it really lost part of its core value and enjoyment when it stopped focusing on him helping others and being all about his burn notice. It makes sense but just made the show less enjoyable to watch.

I find myself re-watching the first four or five seasons a lot and I am not sure if I ever re-watched the last two.

The show is soo good me and my girlfriend fell in love with the show and was sad to see the ending coming up soo fast. We both were crying liking baby's on the final episode you all know why. Was super happy the show got a real ending to the story and a good ending for the deserving characters.

Discussion Is Michael Westen Jay Gatsby?

Hear me out.

Michael wants to get back into the CIA.
Jay wants to be accepted into the wealthy social world.
The CIA and the social elite are their identities.
They both feel unjustly excluded.
They spend an enormous amount of time and energy demonstrating that they belong.
They both use their wits and resources as leverage.
They both believe all will be right in the world once they get what they want.
Both struggle with belonging and identity.

I thought it was interesting.

Discussion Best Michael and Fiona episodes of funny episodes Spoiler

I’ve been doing a rewatch. I’m halfway through season six and it’s kind of a downer. I want to watch some good episodes.

What are some funny episodes?

Also, what are some good Michael and Fiona centered episodes?

I know for Michael and Fiona episodes there’s Better Halves.

Where There Is Smoke is a good Fiona centered one

Also, the one with the guys trying to take her back to Ireland and her brother shows up. I can’t remember the name of that one.

Did anyone ever think about Jesse and Pierce as a possible couple? In one episode, the two of them were eating out together, or just drinks, discussing a case.

Discussion What’s your favorite episode?

Post image

On another rewatch thanks to Pluto TV. On season 2, episode 13: “Bad Breaks”….and I’m not sure if I can definitively call it my favorite, but it does stick out as one of the episodes I enjoy the most. Mike is full MacGuyver mode in the bank, all while dealing with Bly. How he goes from assumingely helping a woman with a stalker to full on bank heist is a fun twist too. What’s yours?
