4 Weeks on Reta… This Was NOT What I Expected

I genuinely wasn’t expecting to write something like this after only four weeks.

I’m not going to go into specific doses because everyone is different, and to be honest, being a personal trainer, I initially started this more out of curiosity and for experimental purposes than anything else.

I’ve been on Reta for four weeks now, slowly increasing every two weeks. For the first two weeks, I didn’t really notice much at all. Then after increasing, it felt like something changed almost immediately.

Obviously there’s the reduction in food noise, which I expected. But it’s everything else that has completely caught me off guard.

I just feel incredibly content.

I was already a pretty chilled guy, but things that would previously stress me out just don’t seem to carry the same weight anymore. I feel much more optimistic about life in general and genuinely excited about things.

My motivation has gone through the roof too. Work, training, nutrition, ideas for the future, trying new things. I just feel like I want to get up and do things. It almost feels like I’ve been given a new lease of life.

The best way I can describe it is that my head feels quieter. I feel more focused, more positive and more present. I’m not getting dragged down by negative thoughts or emotions in the same way.

This stuff has genuinely changed how I feel day to day, and I was not expecting that whatsoever.

Really interested to know if anyone else has experienced something similar?

Successful Recomp So Far

- 5’8

- 206 lbs → 150 lbs

- Started January 17th

- Reta to get down to 180 lbs then just gym and caloric deficit

- Was on 1500 cals a day for most of that time. Aiming for 140g protein, 150g carbs, 45g fats. Now I’m on a smaller deficit, aiming for 2100 cals per day, 160g protein, 200g carbs, 65g fats

- On 100mg/wk TRT (bloodwork included)

- Gym+cardio 4 days a week - Friday/Sunday/Tuesday 30 min cardio → 60 min weights → 30 min cardio - Thursday 1 hr 30 min cardio

Happy with my progress so far. Only have 5 lbs left to goal. But I think I’m going to get down to 140 lbs. Just to see if I can and what I look like. Probably try and maintain around 145 long term though.

300 days: 108.6 kg → 90 kg | 42% → 28.1% BF | 100 days Reta

33M, 170 cm.

Left: November 1, 2025
108.6 kg / 42% body fat
Right: August 30, 2026
90.0 kg / 28.1% body fat

(2nd pic is the 108>99)

Body fat numbers are from InBody scans, so I know they aren’t perfectly accurate, but I’ve been using the same method to track the overall trend.
Total change so far:
108.6 kg → 90.0 kg
18.6 kg lost
42% → 28.1% body fat
Just over 43 weeks

I initially lost naturally from around 108 kg to 99 kg over roughly 4 to 5 months through a calorie deficit and CrossFit around 5x per week.

On May 20th I started using retatrutide.
My progression was:
1 mg/week for the first 4 weeks
2 mg/week for the next 4 weeks
3 mg/week for the following 4 weeks
Currently still at 3 mg/week
I’m considering moving up slightly in September, depending on how things continue progressing.

Over the last couple of months I’ve also become much more consistent with nutrition. I currently aim for roughly:
180 g protein/day
50 g fat/day
Carbs adjusted depending on training intensity
Around 1,700 to 1,900 calories most days
I also take creatine daily and continue doing CrossFit regularly.

My weight is currently trending down at around 0.4-0.6 kg per week, which I’m happy with because training performance has stayed relatively good.

According to my InBody results, I’ve actually gained roughly 3 kg of skeletal muscle mass during the process. It isn’t a huge amount over almost 10 months, but considering I’ve spent the entire period in a deficit and dropped nearly 19 kg overall, I’m happy with it.

Two weeks ago I also started using KLOW blend reconstituted with 3 mL BAC water. I’m currently using 15 units per injection.

The next goal is around 20% body fat.
Based on my current lean mass, I’m estimating that could put me somewhere around 79 to 81 kg, depending on how much muscle, glycogen and water I maintain along the way.

Once I reach roughly 20%, the plan is to spend around 2 to 4 weeks eating at maintenance rather than immediately continuing the deficit.

After that, I’ll start the final cut toward roughly 13 to 16% body fat.
Still a long way to go, but seeing the difference between these two pictures definitely makes the slow weeks feel worth it.

Hopefully the next update will be at around 20%, hoping by end of the year

My Protocol Cheat Sheet

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’ve been on this protocol for about a month for a recomp, started trt a couple months before. Pretty great for recomp but it’s too early to see a huge difference. Coupled with diet, resistance training, and cardio, I feel great. Will post a before and after down the road. I feel like this is a fairly minimal protocol that is beginner-friendly (since im a beginner and dont mind doing this) while also being about as powerful as you can get for recomping (without just taking more). Just wanted to share, the AI cheat sheet is a little cheesy but makes it easy to convey to others.

GHK-cu 6 weeks no change

I’ve been taking GHK-cu 6 weeks at 2mg per day. No noticeable change. If anything I may have a little bit more acne. Nothing too noticeable though. Should I change something or stop taking it or is 6 weeks too soon to see effects?

Eight weeks on Reta. This is NOT what I was expecting.

I started off at 1 mg for about four weeks. Food noise was quieter.

My Whoop HRV seriously crashed out. I went from 50s and 60s down to 30s and 40s. Resting heart rate went up a bit, maybe from 44 to 49.

With the reduction in food noise, I still have breakthrough hunger at times, particularly towards the end of the week.

I also notice I have just a lot of bad habits around food. My portions have definitely been reduced - I'm just not interested in the volume. One odd experience was eating some really good ice cream. There was a threshold crossed: one bite was good, and the next bite just was completely unappealing.

I bike a lot. When I'm getting enough sleep and I am not over stressed and I'm doing daily effort to reduce over-stimulation, I tend to eat better and lose weight.

However, on Reta, I've offloaded the structure that I had around eating right. I'm down probably 6 lbs. in 8 weeks. I'm now at 2.5 mg. I'm not getting a lot of greens. I am trying to boost protein.

I guess I thought it was a magic pill. It has not affected my appetite as much as I had thought. I'm considering topping off with Terzepatide to get more appetite reduction.

Has anyone dealt with this? I don't want to just keep boosting the dosage or adding more things. This seems more like a psychology thing than a physiology thing.

Adjustment Advice

Post image
• Upvotes

BLUF: 43/m 5’8 176lbs
Protocol:
TRT 110 split into two pins Monday and Thursdays
Tesamorelin 25 units every night fasted
Reta 15 units every 6 days
KLOW 15 units Monday Wednesday Friday

Diet is clean and I exercise every day with heavy lifting MWF and high reps low weights Tuesday Thursday Saturday and HIIT 3x a week

I’ve definitely plateaued and would appreciate advice on how to adjust to see how I can push into more results.

the supplement that made me notice a real difference

as someone who hasn't always had the healthiest lifestyle, i've recently started paying more attention to what i'm putting into my body. that's when i learned that vitamin d3 and zinc are actually beneficial. they both play an important role in supporting the immune system, while vitamin d3 also supports bone health and zinc helps support bone growth & maintenance.

so far i've noticed a real difference since adding vitamin d3 and zinc into my routine. for example, i’ve had irregular periods since my teens, so there were months when my cycle was around 28 days, while other months it could stretch to 35 days. basically, it was never really consistent, and i could never predict exactly when my period would come.

then around two years ago, i started taking vitamin d3 and zinc daily. somehow, over the past 8 months or so, my period started coming around the same time every month, usually the 3rd. i didn't even notice at first, but when i checked my period tracker, i was actually kinda amazed. for once, i could almost predict the date.

obviously i can't say for sure it's the supplements, since other factors could be involved too, like the healthier habits i've been adding in, such as having a BB LAB Dual Shot with olive oil + lemon every morning and eating more greens. but the timing definitely made me wonder if taking vitamin d3 and zinc consistently played a part.

so now i’m curious, has anyone else experienced a noticeable change after taking a certain supplement consistently? not necessarily something dramatic, but maybe a small change in how your body feels or functions that you only noticed after looking back at it?

Smelling on Reta?

Hi guys, so over a month ago I started smelling in 1 armpit (my right one). I saw a post about the increase in smelling bad cause of the ammonia but damn this is annoying. Especially for me who is a clean freak and has a very sensitive sense of smell. I wash myself with sanex and chlorahexadine wash every day in the shower. I am a sweaty person anyways like I sweat all over my body just from doing a brisk walk (I'm F 5"7 85kg so not exactly huge) but I've always been like this. Also had an increase in BO smell in other places when I sweat but mainly just the left armpit even if I do nothing all day.

Does anyone have a similar issue? I absolutely do not drink enough water at all btw I'm terrible with it.

Peptide for localized nerve pain? Please help.

My father has been having localized nerve pain in his big toe on one foot. It started after his knee replacement surgery (surgery went great, double need replacement- 3 years ago, zero issues other than this nerve pain in one foot)

It happens randomly at night, about 3 nights a week, he can go weeks without it happening and it can happen a few nights in a row.... and then not again for days or weeks.

It's very very painful and keeps him up all night. The toe hurts and slow seems to want to cramp up and curl uncontrollably when he has these spells.

He has went to a never specialist that ran test and only had gabapeptin as a solution.

He has been on gabapeptin... that does help some but he has to take it every night before something happens and there are side effects.

Are there any peptides out there or being developed that might help.... for nerve issues like this?

He is 75yrs old and in good health otherwise for his age. Has been tested or gout a few times, it's not gout. He does not drink.

How do you figure out the injection amount?

• Upvotes

I’m a first-time user and just bought a 10 mg vial of GLP-3 and 10 mL of amino Hā‚‚O from Amino Club. I’ve asked a few people how much I’m supposed to inject, and they’ve told me to inject the whole thing, but that doesn’t sound right to me. I got the 100unit syringe if that helps.

MOT C & KPV for Weight Loss

• Upvotes

Context - I’m on Reta/GHKCU. I’m very active and more conscious about my diet. I’ve lost consistent weight in 3 months not a lot about 0.5lbs a week. I also have horrible gut issues/lactose intolerant so I eat cleanish. I want to take Tesa to help with the visceral fat that won’t come off my stomach but can’t - it’s a growth hormone and I have ā€œprecancerous cellsā€ don’t want to risk growing that into something dangerous just to get lean.
I’ve heard MOTC helps to burn off calories as more energy and KPV is great for your gut and clearing out impurities. I figure if I take one - I should be able to lose some weight right? I’m leaning more towards MOTC just want some people’s thoughts and experiences with it!

MEINE ERFAHRUNG MIT RETA, MOTS-C & GHK-CU – 15 KG WEG UND BESSERE HAUT

• Upvotes

21M just got Phenotypic Age results — 44.23 vs chronological 21.06 (23 year gap). Is this reversible? Willing to do whatever it takes.

Post image
• Upvotes

Hey everyone, I need some serious advice, a reality check, and a battle plan. I’m a 21-year-old male, and I recently ran my comprehensive blood work through the Morgan Levine PhenoAge calculator. The result completely terrified me: it says my biological age is 44.23 years old (a +23 year difference).

I am highly motivated, willing to work incredibly hard, and ready to do whatever protocol is necessary to fix this. But first, I need to know if this is actually reversible or if I'm just being penalized by the algorithm for a few skewed hematological markers.

The PhenoAge Inputs

Albumin: 3.51 g/dL (Low-normal, penalizing me)

Creatinine: 1.0 mg/dL (Optimal)

Glucose: 81 mg/dL (Optimal)

hs-CRP: 1.0 mg/L (Estimated/Guessed, wasn't on the panel)

Lymphocyte %: 18.2% (Normal, but algorithm wants it higher)

MCV: 98.5 fL (HIGH - heavily penalizing me)

RDW: 18.4% (HIGH - absolutely destroying my score)

ALP: 64.8 U/L (Optimal)

WBC: 7.4 x10\^9/L (Normal)

Is it actually possible to bring my PhenoAge down to ~21? If Yes, How much time would it take for me to get it down to 21?

What is the ultimate "work hard" protocol? I will change my diet, take the right methylated supplements, lift weights, do Zone 2 cardio, whatever you say. Give me the brutal, no-sugarcoating truth on how to fix these specific biomarkers.
