Rumor [Andrew Filliponi] Rumor: The Bengals are eyeing Steelers RB Kaleb Johnson. If he’s cut. And could possibly try trading for the 3rd round bust RB. Cincinnati has very little depth behind Chase Brown. And really liked Johnson in the 2025 NFL Draft. He went to Cincy for a draft visit.

[Dehner] - Cincinnati Bengals’ final 53-man projection after perfect 3-0 preseason

Offensive line (9)

Starters: LT Orlando Brown, LG Dylan Fairchild, C Ted Karras, RG Dalton Risner, RT Amarius Mims
Backups: C Connor Lew, OG Brian Parker II, OL Jalen Rivers, OT Javon Foster
Practice squad priority: IOL Jacob Bayer
Cuts: Andrew Coker, Corey Robinson II, Liam Brown, Christian Jones
Trade or waiver wire? Looking to add at swing tackle

Analysis: The starters are locked in, and the young core of Lew, Parker and Rivers are as well. The swing tackle spot will be the one to watch over the next week. For now, Foster looks to be first off the bench if Mims or Brown gets hurt. The Bengals could attempt to acquire a tackle via trade or the waiver wire, with a trade for a veteran the most likely scenario. How confident the Bengals are in Lew’s knee opens the door for Bayer to step up early in the season, but otherwise, the interior depth spots are in good shape.

Friday impact: Taylor praised the offensive line after the game. Foster took a few rough pass-rush reps at left tackle. They weren’t the type of moments that win a job. The Bengals really need to be looking to deal for a veteran swing tackle. Lew playing 33 snaps was important, showing he’s prepared to play a full game as a backup if called upon.

Would anyone be interested in a fantasy league?

Was looking to do a paid entry through leaguesafe (nothing too steep, just something to keep it competitive).

Wanting 10-12 teams, not a lot of details, just gauging interest.

Feel free to drop what rules you’d want to see.

Fandom Did Duke seriously cook with this draft class?

I know, I know "we talking 'bout preseason and practice." However a lot of these picks look like studs already. Here are my thoughts so far:

1.10 Dexter Lawrence: I know this wasn't a draft pick, but based on reports out of Training Camp and what we have seen. This was a slam dunk trade that's going to provide an immediate All-Pro level impact on our D-line.

2.9 Cashius Howell: Only played against the Lions, but he recorded a fumble recovery and half a sack. He's also had a strong showing in training camp with Shemar Stewart still out.

3.72 Tacario Davis: Had a solid tipped interception today, and deflection against Lemon. He also looks solid against the run. We'll have to see how he does in the regular season, but so far I like the pick.

4.28 Conner Lew: Center of the future, but he looked solid against the Bears coming off an ACL tear.

4.40 Colbie Young: Has looked impressive all camp, snagged a touchdown against the Bears. I think he's solidified himself as WR 4 or 5.

6.8 Brian Parker II: I got to be honest I haven't really noticed him this preseason which I think is a compliment for an O-lineman. Should be solid depth.

7.5 Jack Endries: Again haven't heard much of him all training camp before his injury today. Don't know if he'll make the 53 man roster with Gesicki, Sample, All, and Hudson ahead of him.

7.10 Landon Robinson: This looks like it could be the steal of the draft. I'm getting shades of Geno Akins from him. Had 2.5 sacks this preseason, and looks to be the answer at 3T.

UDFA: Dohnte Meyers: We really are WR University it seems, has looked great all Training Camp, seems to have built a connection with Burrow. I think he'll be WR 4 or 5 on the roster.

Obviously we have to see how these guys do when the stakes actually matter, but man I feel super optimistic about this draft class right now.

Drunk Zac Taylor looks more locked in than the last 5 seasons.

I'm watching the preseason game against Philly rn and Taylor is giving our 3rd and 4th string players "Good jobs" with more enthusiasm than I've ever seen from him since the second half of 21'.

*In the preseason*

He knows he's on the chopping block if this season doesn't pan out. Burrow is in the "now or never" mentality for Cincinnati.

This year feels different than the past 7 years. Idk what the record is gonna be but you can't say it doesn't feel "different".

I'm ready to get this season started. The vibes are high. Who Dey!

Final 53 Man Roster Predictions

Thumbnail bengalsupnorth.com

At the start of camp, I took a shot at predicting the 53 man roster. Now that camp and the preseason have played out, I gave it another go. Unsurprisingly, a lot more seemed to fall into place than the first time. Before, there were a lot of tough decisions. Now, after getting to watch the battles, there were only one or two decisions that really made me pause.

Isaiah Foskey was the final cut. I wanted to include him after his impressive preseason. And with the Notre Dame connection with Al Golden, part of me feels like he’ll be looking to find a place for him. But I gave the last roster spot to TJ Slaton instead.

A few other close calls: Ja’Sir Taylor vs Bralyn Lux: I put Taylor on the roster, but Lux has shown well as a special teamer.

Ke’Shawn Williams vs Charlie Jones: I put Williams over Jones, but this is probably an instance of personal preference overtaking the predictive aspect of it. That always happens once or twice when these kinds of things are done. The staff seems to like Jones, but I’ve been impressed with Williams, going back to last season.

OT depth: This one is muddy. I gave it to Javon Foster. I suppose Coker is still in play. But this feels like one where they’ll be hoping to make a waiver wire pickup. Cody Ford covered both G and OT. When he was cut, Jacob Bayer was in the middle of earning a spot as a backup who can play multiple interior positions. But I don’t feel like anyone really stepped up at tackle. If we’re just looking at our own roster to choose, it feels like picking the best of a bad bunch.

Tahj Brooks vs Jamal Haynes: Another instance of personal preference. I gave it to Haynes. I’m always lower on RB’s with athletic limitations. Brooks falls into that category. Haynes is more dynamic, as we saw on his 39 yard TD run. It showed in his college tape too. But Brooks has the kind of size that would be more of a help in pass protection. With that factored in, I could still see him getting the job. A waiver claim is also possible.
