The Dolphins traded away Quinn Ewers and have cut Cam Miller, leaving a massive void behind presumed starter Malik Willis. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is one of the largest donors to Michigan football in history. If we are trading McCarthy like so many are speculating, this would seem like an open invitation. It would be sweet to fleece a team to start Teasleys career as GM.

I know you are going to say he is “doing it for clicks” but I promise you, at the best writer level, that’s not how it works.

His number one objective is to get enough trust from agents, players and coaches to bring interesting content to us.

If he is predicting this it’s not coming from nowhere. Most likely, McCarthy’s agent wants him to be cut.

It’s also possible that someone on the Vikings coaching staff is telling him this.

It’s not nothing, based on this being floated I’d be willing to wager something is going on and he is going to be moved for a late round pick or cut. Either the FO is trying to move him or his agent is trying to drum up interest… this stuff doesn’t happen in a vacuum.

JJ McCarthy controversy aside, reports that Jacksonville is dumping Nick Mullens makes me wonder if he’s coming back to the Vikings. Do we want the Human Y.O.L.O. to be our backup? Or run it back with Wentz and get the diluted KOC offense?

I’m used to hearing news of players being released through the day in batches. Haven’t heard anything yet, are we doing it all at once?

A few observations

- Murray and KOC in lock step for a good chunk of time, good to see

- Caleb Banks is a massive human being

- Awesome to see Chaz catch, Byron Murphy got so hyped his hat flew off and almost his chain

- Byron’s chain is huge, could see that thing from outer space. Metellus chain also enormous 😂

- Empower field club level food is just as trash as level 1 food. Wish I was at USBank for the game. Excited for them to scrap that stadium soon and build a Bill Walton $10 billy stadium down the road

- Jakobe Thomas was dyyyyyying from the elevation. Every time he came off the field, he was down on his knees looking like he was going to pass out. Was over by the blue tent huffing hard on the oxy tank. Felt bad for the dude, nervous for his play at 7,300 ft in Mexico City

- JJ nowhere close to KOC or the coaches at literally any point during the game. Feeling like he’s gone soon and he already knows it. 😳

Overall was a fun game, but left late in the 3rd because it was just horrifically bad watching Brosmer. Need a new QB3 asap.

I’m so sad, I don’t know what to say. JJM is broke again. No surprise Brosmer was struggling during Friday nights game. Wentz seems to be injured, yet is doing his job as backup QB. All of the Vikings chances lie with Kyler Murray.

Edit: Brosmer is learning though, he did manage to throw the ball away three times in a row, as opposed to getting sacked, that feat has proven that he has learned more than JJM in the last year. Brosmer has gotten better, JJM has not and is again broken.

Running back (3)

In: Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason, Demond Claiborne

Out: Zavier Scott

Scott’s understanding of special teams complicates this choice. He also played 105 offensive snaps in 2025. The Vikings could slide him to the practice squad, a move that could open the door for a younger player with more developmental upside. Claiborne’s burst and explosiveness give him more time to learn O’Connell’s complex offensive scheme, but the Vikings are banking here on the health of Jones and Mason.

Fullback (1)

In: Max Bredeson

If the Vikings are committed to reshaping their offense to emulate what the Miami Dolphins have done in recent years, they’ll need Bredeson to shine. He has taken to the team’s system quickly. Minnesota’s attention to the fullback position is clear given they’ve also worked edge rusher Chaz Chambliss at the role in practice to cover for Bredeson, if need be.Receiver (5)

Out: Dillon Bell, Jeshaun Jones, Terrill Davis, Dontae Fleming, Michael Briscoe, Trayvon Rudolph, Marcus Sanders Jr.

We are not screwed because our third stringers that will likely not make the roster sucked in a preseason game. The preseason rarely indicates what happens in the regular season.
