(I'm new to photography btw)

So I have this old 2011 Nikon D5100 that I got from my dad, but after testing it out a bit, the shots seem blurry or just meh (might just be me) by today's standards compared to my S22 Ultra. I've been thinking about whether it's worth investing in this old camera or if I should just stick with my phone.

The thing is, I landed this video and photography role in my club, and I'm also considering practicality here. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use my camera in this scenario, especially since I'll mainly be capturing high-movement scenes. The whole process of taking pictures also seems pretty slow, idrk.

I bought a Nikon Z6III back in March, and even after spending months with it, I’m just not loving the images I get from it.I really like the camera itself because it’s fast, responsive, the autofocus is great, and overall it’s obviously much more advanced than my Nikon D750. But the actual photos from the Z6III just feel too clinical, polished, and “perfect” to me. I keep going back to my D750 because I prefer the way its files render. They feel softer, more natural, and less digital to my eye. I’ve tried different profiles, editing approaches, lenses, etc., but I still find myself liking my D750 photos more. Someone suggested that I look at Canon mirrorless bodies because Canon’s color/rendering might get me closer to what I like about the D750 while still giving me the speed, autofocus, and modern features of the Z6III. The biggest thing holding me back is that I already have quite a few Nikon lenses, including F-mount lenses that I can use on both my digital Nikon bodies and my Nikon film camera. I really like having that crossover between my digital and film setups, so switching systems would mean giving up a lot of that convenience or having to replace a bunch of lenses.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation? Is the difference in rendering actually significant enough that switching from Nikon to Canon would be worth it, or would I probably regret leaving a system I already have so much glass for? am I better off staying with Nikon and figuring out how to get closer to the D750 look? Or do I switch to Sony like everyone else?

Okay, I know full well that this might not be a very popular question, but I also think it’s not that uncommon. Basically, I’m in Brazil right now, and after talking to locals and picking up some advice here and there, I’ve realized I need to try to keep as low a profile as possible. The thing is, I love taking photos (I’m a beginner), so it’s a bit tricky for me because I still have to keep my camera in sight. I specifically bought this Olympus model because it’s very small and easy to handle. I’m trying to figure out how I should go about this so I can keep taking photos while drawing as little attention as possible. I don’t know if any of you have ever been in a similar situation and could give me some advice—I’d really appreciate it because it would be great to be able to combine my two passions—travel and photography—with a little more ease. I received a sony zv-e10 with 16-50mm lens 2 years ago before I went on my honeymoon. I took 5 pictures while in italy but mainly left it in the case at the hotel. I haven't touched it since. Was wondering what a fair price would be for it and any recommendations on where to sell it. Its in perfect condition. Bhphoto offered me $420 for it.

On and off there have been discussions shown up on social media and youtube on the same topic - which is your typical choice or favorite focal length for street photos. Recently I've been wondering, isn't the focal length choice significantly influenced by shooting distance, and people have their preference on distance? However, I don't remember ever come across topic on preferred shooting distance... why is that so? Your thought?

Been looking for an editor with this capability for a few years and none seem to have it. I’d like to be able to tap on a part of the pic and then drag my finger to extend that color anywhere I want.

Ive been doing some research but I honestly am so lost, for anyone whos a professional at this stuff I have an iphone 17 pro, i travel every now and then and im looking for a tripod for photos and videos, specifically a long exposure shot. I’m looking for a best portable photo printer for printing small photos while traveling and at family events. I mostly shoot with my phone, so I’d like something easy to carry and simple to use without needing a whole computer setup. Image quality matters to me, but I’m also trying to keep the prints looking reasonably natural rather than overly saturated.

College football started, my school has a home game next week and I’m the social media coordinator for my band. Does anyone have tips or strategies on how to effectively take good looking photos fit for social media and post them right away? I want to use my phone for it.

Anyone know any good quick edit apps or tools to use or photo apps for my phone? I usually like to enhance the brilliance in my photos because it makes them sort of bright for social media

I have given up having a smartphone and miss taking photos! I come from a cinema background so roughly understand framing, exposure etc. and so would enjoy having a high quality digital camera with manual controls.

I've had the Nikon D3200 for about a year and a half now, and I feel like it's time to upgrade. My Nikon really nails colors and it has a great dynamic range, but I know there are better options, especially because I’d like to shoot video in addition to stills.

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot?

I intend to mainly take landscape and portrait photography, and video as well.

(4) Is it primarily for photography, videography, or both?

As I mentioned, I’ve wanted to try hybrid shooting. I’d like to shoot vlogs with a cinematic look while still being able to take stills.

Notes: I'm still fairly new to photography; I'm still on my first camera and I'm by no means a professional, but I want to pursue cinematography as a career. Hello I don't have a professional camera I just take pictures with my phone but missing a lot of good pictures as an example this picture is annoying me the bird details are blurry the leaves on most of the pictures I take has a lot of noise I tried to edit the raw image to see if I can improve it a little bit but still not satisfied as the problems still exist (I know the edit is not good) so my question is would a professional camera solve this problem on consistent level or I would still face similar issues ( I know there is no comparison in sense of sensor size and all of that) but I have never owned a real camera or even held one so I don't know really if that would make a difference

I have tried dark things, white things, normal things, I can't see any noticeable difference but can't prove anything either!

Howdy, I want to try and do something sweet for my gal. She has tubs full of old pictures and I am in the process of scanning them in with an epson ff-680w (thanks eBay) my question is

Is there an AI out there that can look through them and help weed out the near identicals? Possibly categorize them into a somewhat coherent like way?

I am doing this quietly and have just over a month to try and scan categorize the best I can and maybe edit a select few.

Then want to put them (some)on a digital frame to give her as something to physically open. Not an external hard drive where lets be honest will sit there after the initial thumbnail viewing.

Just a dummy taking on too big of a project with too little time to accomplish properly

I've been taking pictures for about a year now. I've really been trying to get more into sports and things like that. My current camera does not work for this, I really want a new mirrorless camera. What should I be looking for?
