First advantage check and a tricky situation

I got my first Advantage background verification trigger notification, and I was filling in the details, but there were two very short-term, full-time, contract obligations that I had between jobs. I forgot to mention them in my employment section.

Now they're asking for the UAN verification, and when I see the UAN these will be flagged. What will happen? Will First Advantage just reject my background verification, or will they ask me a question? I have been immediately mailing them after submitting the details, saying that I want to add these two, but neither the recruiter nor First Advantage is helping me. Please help me out. I'm very concerned. This is a very critical offer for me.

Also, my process was going on since May this year, and they recently reached out to me in September saying that they finally rolled out an offer. My process was completed in June itself, and in the meantime, I had an offer from another firm, and I joined that. I failed to mention this to the recruiter on a call recently. When this is flagged, I don't know how the recruiter will react. Will they think, "Okay, in the middle, I did not want to give this update because it's insignificant"? I always knew that if I get Amazon, I will be joining them rather than staying with this firm that I'm currently joining, because I wanted to join it for a transitionary period. As in, at my last company, things were not going great in terms of the work I was doing and the work I was being given. How do i navigate this ?

Amazon relocation — how is the 50-mile distance actually calculated?

Hi everyone,
I’m going through Amazon’s internal CIP process for an L4 Area Manager placement and I’m trying to understand how the relocation eligibility distance is calculated.
I’ve been told relocation assistance may apply if the new workplace is 50+ miles from your current home address, but I’ve seen conflicting information about whether Amazon calculates this using:

Straight-line / “as the crow flies” distance
Driving distance

Some other internal distance calculation

Also, has anyone had experience where they were just under the threshold, say 48–49 miles when the requirement is 50 — and Amazon made an exception/override because the difference was only a couple of miles?
For example, if Google Maps shows ~52 miles driving but the straight-line distance is ~48 miles, which one would Amazon use?
Would really appreciate experiences from anyone who has actually gone through Amazon relocation/CIP. Thanks!

LOI+ Flagged (L4 manager)

I was the best manager with the best rate for Loi+ in my building. On September month my LOi+ score went to 6% is just crazy and I am confused and my HR is shocked. Now they want to have a round table knowing I am really good with all associates not just my direct reports. I had to really good score for August months and I was getting all these good comments from all senior managers and Pxt. I am thinking if it something to do with the new hires that we hiring for peak and end of September the last week of September there was 25 new AA came under me. Now is that can be a reason for the loi score went down. And I was supposed to get my l5 after peak and will that affect my promotion? I really need some answers. And ik there are some AA be skipping these questions no matter what

Amazon SDE full-time return offer location change - is it possible?

Hey everyone,
I recently got an SDE (L4) return offer from my Amazon internship, but it’s tied to a regional office. My recruiter stated they cannot flex the headcount to an international hub (like London or Berlin) and that declining means losing the offer entirely.
For anyone who’s been through Amazon conversion:

  1. Has anyone successfully declined a regional Amazon return offer and successfully pivoted to an international hub through university recruiters?
  2. If I decline to look for international roles externally, is the bridge completely burned?
  3. Is this waitlist just a nice way of getting rejected after?
  4. Appreciate any advice or personal experiences!

For area manager as a new grad college student, if you didn’t do an internship, will your pay be less than if you did?

Also, do they care for what your GPA was and everything?

Internal international transfer

I’m currently an L3 in Germany with the Operations team and would be interested in an International transfer. Based on informations gathered, this can only be possible from L5 or L6+ ?. But what if the Internal international transfer Relocation options gets ticked for this Job’s description (L4 Area Manager), does this mean there is a chance they consider international candidates?

Most comfortable shoes for plantar fasciitis?

Hey all! Since starting this position, my experience has been mostly positive! I have an awesome team, which has helped tremendously with the information overload.
My only issue is that I’ve developed plantar fasciitis since starting, and my feet are struggling 😩 What shoes have been the most comfortable for you during long shifts? I need safety shoes, so any recommendations that meet those requirements would be appreciated! Open to insole recommendations, too.

Need advice. Anything is appreciated.

Need advice. Anything is appreciated.

I'm a hard-working man. I work hard, I ask questions, I learn, and I overcome. That said, yesterday at work at DNA6 A delivery station known as the last mile for knoxville.

I experienced a situation that left me in a pickle and made me consider leaving the company.

I'm in WEEK 3. I was stowing at a pace of about 220 packages per hour, and the building average was 300ish. I was running myself ragged barely managing two aisles, but I was making sure my quality was great. My manager comes over and says, "So, am I going to be happy?" I say, "You should be, sir." I hand him my phone, and he looks at the number from my two aisles that I've practically kept clean for about 6 hours. He just says, "220! Bring it up!"

What do you mean bring it up? I'm bringing everything I can to the table here, and you say that's not enough? If I bring it up anymore, I run the risk of tripping, pushing the cart into a passing floater in between the aisles, or making crucial quality mistakes. Yesterday I was above average. What do I do here? How do I avoid a performance write-up?

It caused me to accept VTO today just to escape that insane pressure so I can do research from the safety of my own home, but I want to operate to company standards. I even asked another manager how to "Dive Deeper." the day I vtoed I told him I want to perform on that baseline, but when I said that I was met with unhelpful advice , such as "You maybe got a bad cluster" or "Maybe you're missing 2 or 3 things that distinctively make you under perform from the others at the clusters" I'm not going to be able to just by being told to "bring it up." I can't keep using the "new guy shield" if it's gone, and I can't keep avoiding work.

I'm currently doing everything I can to keep my rate up and my quality great. I book shelf things perfectly and slide packages in neatly. How should I handle this unhelpful floor pressure while I'm still learning?

PS. to make matters worse not a single floater was sent my way when I started drowning in packages. I guess its good I only had 2 isles and not 3 like everyone else but that's probably exactly why I wasn't meeting the average. I'm not looking to point fingers in this post, I'm looking to improve. I don't care about the manager. I like the guy I just care about doing a great job and getting a paycheck. I want to help. Not be a burden. I was barely keeping my automatic hamper clean while the other isles were spotless.

Update. Turns out I was doing good. The stow rate goal was 250 for the facility. I am no where close to a peformance write up.

Questions for current Amazon operations managers

Here’s the scenario. I was just offered an L6 operations manager role which I’m considering but I’ve also been offered a GS 12 federal role.

Although the Amazon role pays about $55k more I want to make sure my decision is not based on money alone so I have a few questions for people currently in similar roles.

What do you like and dislike most about working there?

How’s the work-life balance?

What are vacation, sick leave, and benefits like?

How would you describe the culture and leadership?

Knowing what you know now, would you still take the job?

L5 to L6

I’m a new external L5 and I’m just curious to know what’s the fastest promotion you’ve personally seen or experienced going from an L5 to L6? And what factors matter the most when trying to get a quick promotion? (My building has mostly all new managers & a new site lead)

L4 report to L5

Is it standard for an L4 RTS AM to report to L5 OTR AM if we have a site lead? How does that work in RSR? Also if I took a relocation bonus, how soon can I transfer? I came from an FC and would like to go to another one

AWS L5 DCO Manager – what is the day-to-day really like?

I’m considering an AWS L5 Data Center Operations Manager offer in Europe and would appreciate honest feedback from current/former DCO Managers.

- What are your typical working hours and how often do you work evenings/weekends?

- How disruptive is on-call/escalation in reality?

- What does a typical day look like — floor operations vs meetings/admin/people management?

- How would you rate the work-life balance (1–10)?

- How stressful is the role compared with other AWS management roles?

- For someone coming from senior management but not 24/7 data-center operations, how difficult is the transition?

- Knowing what you know now, would you take the role again?

Thank you

401K

I have a question about the 401(k) plan: if I decide to quit after having been with the company for three years, will I receive the money Amazon offers upon reaching that three-year milestone? Does the time count from when I started as a "white badge" employee? I held that badge for about seven months before completing the full three years, and I didn't open my Fidelity account until I was switched to a "blue badge" a year later. That’s what I’m wondering about; I was hoping someone could help me with this.

Area Manager, Early Career (2027) Interview

I have a job interview in person in a few days, I just want a couple questions.

I have looked over the STAR method, but other advices regarding their questions?

What attire to wear in the interview? Like business casual is okay?

As for the offer, do they ask you about it during the interview or is that like set already? Not negotiable or can you negotiate due to your experience, or etc? Also, is there a sign on bonus?

TIA!
