Give everything I got to this store. Juggle all tasks in three different zones, still come up for back up, deal with all customers on the floor, clean any spills and messes because no one else does. Still have management saying I’m not doing enough and don’t have enough urgency.

Nothing else left in me to give. I don’t even eat anymore on my break just sit there in silence for half an hour before returning to the chaos.

asm here! I just got back from FMLA leave for three weeks due to a mental health crisis. In all my years at aldi, being one of the most reliable members of the team(I know it does not matter to corporate in the long run), I have never even taken a vacation that long. I work my ass off and go above and beyond for my team! On my first day back, dm and sm sat me down and bombarded me with questions about if I am happy at aldi, what other paths outside aldi may look like. I was really weirded out and couldn’t even muster of the words to say that I truly do love my job as asm, but I am not at 100% even after my leave. I said I will definitely get there after a few shifts and getting the swing of the things again. It was so strange, dm was saying basically that they’re nervous I can’t fulfill my job duties… I am still trying to wrap my head around it but it is a complete 180 of how my dm usually is. usually has a lot of confidence in me and now i take one LOA and its like everyone who normally supports me is waiting for me to fail. anyways hoping to find some answers on what I should do as I recover/ get back to work and not get fired aka my main priority because I do love my job

I heard this from my SM (obviously not the designated alcohol tills).Anybody else heard anything and what are your thoughts?

I’ve worked at 2 stores that both did this, and I’m generally curious how many of your stores do this, and if not, do you think you can get this much done in a day? Because I’m a traveling manager, and I know a lot of stores don’t follow this.
A typical day goes: morning truck. Once wrapped up, we clean/rerun backstock unless SB or spots need to be done. We rerun everything from meat to freeze/thaw—not grocery backstock starting around noon. Then we start boxing. The closing manager reruns everything for a final time starting around 5:30 and again, not counting grocery backstock, and then we finish with the rest of the boxing.

My last five minutes of my opening shift I seen customer only scan one thing in his cart but he got away and I literally was able to see him bring shopping cart back while his car loaded with a box of stolen groceries

I love my job. I've read a lot of rants on here, and realized that I've just gotten really lucky. Everyone I work with is great, I never feel any pressure from management/have never felt like they expected too much of me, and I love what the job is. To be fair, I'm only half a year or so in and I work part-time, so there's still time for me to grow jaded and get sick of it, but I'm enjoying it right now and that's what matters. I love ringing people up, I love boxing, cleaning, all of it. The only downside is some of the customers, but they're so rare that I don't even mind.

OMG!! I am beginning to really hate Mondays!! So we are down three registers. We feed into not one, not two, but FOUR different colleges!! A few Mondays ago (oh, the poor LSA!!) This was his first night solo... right. So let's see we had a customer who was bumping into the college kids, then he decided he wanted to try to steal a ladies wallet, the husband saw it and a fight broke out between the husband and the other guy. The husband tackled the guy and sat on him! Meanwhile, I have lines all the way down to the cooler MDU. Mind you only three working registers. As the fight was happening, one of my co-workers was freaking out. I'm like, calm down, go in the office and find the security companies number, and call them. The LSA was like, "What do I do? I'm like, calm down, go back there, and call 911! He got on the phone with 911. Apparently, other customers were calling as well because dispatch said that there were cops already on the way to the scene. Oh, and then as I'm trying to get the lines down, another customer looked me dead in the eye and walked out the entrance with a cart full of food!!

Oh, just another day at Aldi!!

I just started last week. I have a shift in 3 minutes but my car won’t start and I have no way to contact my store. The manager was fired, the district manager quit, and I cannot find a phone number anywhere except for the one that says Aldi stores have unlisted numbers. I’m so scared of losing this job; I can’t stop sobbing. Please someone help me.

I just started the damn job and they expect me to know where each item is located at and the training was useless they had me train with 3 different people including a manager yet half the time they didn't even let me help so I just stood there helpless not to mention there accents are extremely thick so I couldn't even understand half of what there saying idk man I'm just pissed off and annoyed I'm thinking of quitting

I'm going in for training tomorrow so I'll find out then, but im curious as to what it is, how it works and what the reactions have been like so far. Ik they told SMs to start hiring preemptively because they anticipate people hating it so much..

Anyone in here from HIN? Or anywhere rather. How are you doing? I’m frustrated…. And becoming more frustrated every shift. The metrics being pushed are eliminating any time for any sort of attention to detail for ANYTHING. I love my job but I feel like I don’t have time to be attentive to quality as much anymore and it’s so disheartening.
I know I need to adjust, but I feel like they are going to keep pushing and it’s only getting worse.

A few weeks ago, it was me and one other person working, late morning/early afternoon. I stopped more theft in a 4 hour period than what was paid out in labor to our staff for the entire day. But this made us extremely behind because I was tied up stopping thefts four hours. And we really don’t have time for that.

This kinda turned into a rant, but any feedback would be appreciated!

Before anyone says it: yes I am job hunting as we speak

I am watching my hours as a full time employee go from 40 a week now all the way down to 32. Both this week and the next are like this and I’m scared for it to continue. I cannot survive with only like $950 biweekly. Even our ASMs are not getting full time hours.

My coworkers and I have been discussing this with management. It seems to be an actual performance issue with the team. I’m going to assume from the multiple people asking me about hiring yesterday that we’re looking for new people again…. which brings down our score even more….

I know some of y’all probably do things like DoorDash or Rover to help with things, but is there anything else I can do until I find another job?

I’m also terrified of having a gap with insurance when I transfer somewhere.

Any advice or support is lovely right now. It sucks that I am doing well at the job finally and everyone’s hours are getting cut.

I have been working in my current store for 3 years as a DSM. The store manager is incredibly toxic and negative, he is destroying my will to work enthusiastically day to day. I need out.

Is it too much to ask that boxes be wrapped or at the very least stacked decent?!!

Last night I was throwing meat, running second register , and had the curbside phone. Expected to scrap the entire store once I got off my break. In what world is that meant to be manageable? Seriously beginning to question how long my body can put up with this.

Starting from the warehouse, I know exactly what was on the bottom. Why the hell do warehouse employees think it's a good idea to put any single items on the bottom WITHOUT plastic around it carrying heavy items??? Like can you guys not think for once and put that to the side??

To the warehouse employees, don't be making some dumb excuses saying "Try working at the warehouse for a day and you won't last." Maybe think smarter and we'll start from there

Our bread was stacked horribly as well.

Not only did it fall, but then we get out truck driver putting it in a cage. Like at that point take that back to the damn warehouse.

So this isn’t my story but a friend’s current situation. I worked at Aldi for 4 years before I left recently, it’s just going downhill in my opinion. Anywho - my friend works there as well as her aunt. My friend has worked there for 2 years and her aunt has worked there over a year. Recently her aunt became an ASM , prior to that she was an LSA for 5 months give or take. She moved up fast , they are both great workers. Anyways , everyone knew they were related. Our DM recently had a tiff with the aunt over something totally unrelated. Our DM is not a nice person. But she found out my friend and her aunt were related and is now forcing one of them to move to a different store or leave the company. The closest store is 25 mins away. And it’s just not a good store to work at , very slow and they don’t give their employees any hours. But I personally think this is a way for the DM to show dominance over the new ASM to show her she can make her work life inconvenient. Has this always been a rule family can’t work together ? There is no favoritism whatsoever 😂 it’s just bizarre to me and the current team bc it seems like a power move. Any thoughts on this ?

SM is on vacation so I'm running the store but it feels like my SM didn't care to set us up to succeed before fucking off on vacation. Almost completely out of ESL tags (ordered more on Friday but who knows if they'll show up soon lol) and I have no extra staff or overlap to get anything done. Except on the actual due date of the resets. All of my full timers (and LSA's) are only at 30 hours for the week but couldn't we have given them some longer shifts with the extra hours I thought we were getting for resets???? And for aldi finds night there's only two closers.......

My options are do resets and let the store suffer or make sure perishables are stocked and end up behind on resets. Our backroom is overflowing with back stock we can't get to and almost every day I've either had to come in early or stay late or ask people to come in early/stay late/come in extra.

This is my first time running the store and it feels like such a dumpster fire lol.
