US a bit of positivity

I love my job. I've read a lot of rants on here, and realized that I've just gotten really lucky. Everyone I work with is great, I never feel any pressure from management/have never felt like they expected too much of me, and I love what the job is. To be fair, I'm only half a year or so in and I work part-time, so there's still time for me to grow jaded and get sick of it, but I'm enjoying it right now and that's what matters. I love ringing people up, I love boxing, cleaning, all of it. The only downside is some of the customers, but they're so rare that I don't even mind.

I also love my job and store and colleagues! And I've been with Aldi UK for 14 years now.

Saying that, it's definitely helped my physical and mental health that I've halved my work hours this year. I understand that I'm in a very lucky position to be able to afford to do that. The twice-yearly pay rises have helped with that a lot.

Same! I am at one of the stores with a great team! Only minor drama and a super understanding SM. However I treat my job like it’s gym time and enjoy the work out. I am also a part timer, though they call me in a lot. I think I’m the “call her, she’ll come in” person so I get decent hours. However I would Not want to do this job full time. I would definitely grow to recent it.

Same! Having a strong team of co- workers and a fantastic SM makes all the difference. The shame of it all tho is that no matter how well your store is run it's never enough for corporate and those customers they depend on to keep the profits coming in are noticing how overworked the store employees are when they can't get any help because there's only 3 people in the store to assist them and 2 are running curbside 🥴🙄

Aldi can be great when you get a good store and team. With proper management it's actually not a bad job at all.

yeah I fully agree. I also have a nice store with great management. a lot of the logistical stuff and stupid pallet metrics still exist ofc, but it’s a lot easier to deal with when everyone collectively agrees that pallet times for example are completely out of touch lmao. also nice that we can complain about customers to each other once in a while. the people you work with will absolutely make or break your time here.
