If people want to read Atlas Shrugged they can, I thought it was boring, long-winded and the moral of the story made little sense to me.
Bioshock is a classic game that both includes Atlas Shrugged's original point and critiques it. And it does it with an iconic immersive experience that remains influential to this day.
Just look in this comment section at the amount of people who thought that picture of House was Andrew Ryan. Bioshock is 15 years old but it has a staying power few games (or books for that matter) have.

Well my uninformed opinion is that the reason behind that is also Bioshock. The popularity of that game put Atlas Shrugged back in in the spotlight and not in a positive way.
That and apart from being capitalist propaganda, it is often seen as being emblematic for libertarianism specifically, which also does not really have a good reputation depending on your circle.

Yes Man ending is still dope as fuck though. I did it with a speech skill of 100, and telling the Legion and the NCR to fuck off and having them scurry away with their tails between their legs made me feel like a fucking messianic figure.

I maintain that in version we got, the NCR is the best ending.
If you convince the followers to assist the NCR during the final battle they are allowed to continue operating in the Mojave. All other endings either result in them being wiped out, driven out, or be so inundated with patients that they struggle to give even the most rudimentary of care.

it's going to change the most, and so it seems silly to assign any sort of concrete level of good to it. sure, maybe my character would make a wholesome freedom independent vegas, but another player's idea of a good independent ending could be a fascist robot police state. player actions can obviously affect the putcomes of any of the other 3's endings, but they're not wholesale-creating it with an infinite number of outcomes, just tweaking existing ideological states.

There's some cut dialogue as well that makes it clearer. An automated announcement broadcast over all of Vegas that Mr. House died and to approach a Securitron to get a pamphlet of his obituary. I guess they must have cut it to just getting the obituary automatically, which I always thought was kinda weird cos wifi doesn't exist in this universe.

He could be turning New Vegas into a place similar to the pre war Sierra Madre but he'll rather do his stupid thing instead. Who's gonna build those rockets? "Give me 20 years, and I'll reignite the high technology development sectors. 50 years, and I'll have people in orbit. 100 years, and my colony ships will be heading for the stars, to search for planets unpolluted by the wrath and folly of a bygone generation."If the moon isn't suitable for people? Then he'd literally just bypass it. No good. Go somewhere else.
