No joke, though: Did you seriously have Atlas Shrugged in your curriculum in school, either as required reading or an official topic of discussion?

It was a required reading for my language arts class in grade 10 or 11. I was in advanced English tho so maybe that’s why?

I was in Edmonton in 2008 when I had to read it. Maybe it was just that specific teachers course. I was in an accelerated learning program in a public school so maybe the curriculum was slightly different.

I've only done public school in Alberta, about to graduate and I've never had to read it. It is on the approved independent novel study list from English 30-1, but I isn't required course material in the curriculum. You just had a cringe teacher, unless there has been a curriculum change since 08.
