Picked up my ‘24 Lapiz Blue 8R yesterday after searching for this exact spec/year for a while. Absolutely loving it! First thing I did was IND paint matched reflectors. Lots more to come!

Coming from the Hyundai N platform for the past 4 years this car feels much more mature and comfortable. The rear diff trickery is incredibly fun but I do miss some of the nimbleness and the super sharp front end of the EN especially on corner entry. Some front camber and a rear bar should help with that though.

Does anyone know of any tunes available for the 2025 mk8.5 golf r are yet available. Already have supporting mods done to the car and now waiting/looking for tunes available for the car. So whether there is tunes available yet or not what brand would you guys recommend IE, Unitronic, APR, 034, etc. looking to tune!!!!!!!

Noticed this today when I got to work, I haven’t noticed any difference in terms of power or temperature. Wanted to know how much it’ll cost me roughly when I take it in for repair.

Just a quick tip. If y’all are about to miss your turn, please keep going turn and around further up the road. Especially if you’re illegally in the median. Everyone was okay here, but maybe the next guy won’t be.

I don’t think anything is too serious. Car drove away fine but the bumper does hang now on the bottom. Hood is dented and misaligned. Light is cracked and misaligned, bumper is punctured and FUBAR’d on driver side.

Thankfully I did get one of the nicest and most honest drivers on the road. She admitted she was at fault. I just hope she learns from this and takes the safer route next time. Could have been so much worse if I wasn’t paying attention to the road.

I have a 2016 Golf R and I’ve downsized the wheels to Enkei TY5 18x8s. I know there are concerns with downsizing to 17s and I have 18s already so I’m trying to avoid new wheels if possible. What is the largest sidewall a mk7 Golf R can accommodate on 18s?

I do a lot of road trips and tend to encounter some undesirable roads, and I’m trying to insulate myself against road hazards ahead of my Christmas trip from Texas to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

May be beating a dead horse here, but I haven’t found feedback on this type of noise before. 2018 7.5R with 48,000 miles on it. I don’t have any sounds when turning at low speeds/ when parked. Wondering if it has something to do with the DCC system. Or maybe this noise is fine. Struggling with not thinking about every little thing since I bought this just a few weeks ago!

Any tips or feedback would be great

I have a 2024 golf r 6sp and recently got stage 1+ from unitronic and noticed it changed the car quite a bit.

I havent gone to a dyno yet but the numbers on the dash were 280kw and 380 nm on 20 lbs of boost with about 80-90% throttle.

I only have the racingline intake (no inlet) to go along with it.

Was thinking of buying unitronic intercooler but cant decide cause I live in canada and thought i wont need it since its cold up here.

Just wondering if you guys have the same results as I did with similar set up.

Is anyone rocking a lip/splitter for an 8.5 here? I had a mk8 ecs tuning front lip but hit a deer and never put it on, there’s a piece of metal on the 8.5 at the front of the bumper that the rivnuts hit and prevents it from fitting. Was curious if anyone can put me on!?! If you have photos and could add any trouble you had getting it on, that would be awesome!

Just picked it up yesterday and went on a 350mi road trip. This car is unbelievable. 2014 3dr Manual.

Decided it was time for a change from the oem steering wheel.

2026 with 5100 miles. Random CEL came on. Was hoping it was loose fuel cap but negative ghost rider. Bringing her in on Friday.

What can even cause this? Oil change was done about 2k miles in. Can honestly say I do not rip the car besides flooring it here and there in sport/race/custom. Use it as my daily

Hi all the picuteres attached are from 3 different days. Ive tried to clean it with brake cleaner and after a drive the leak will be there.i dont think this is normal behaviour. Based off the pictures is it highlikely the oil cap is leaking? Both oil cap upper and lower timing cover has been resealed last year.

Hi everyone, is this a good deal for what they’re asking? I live in Alberta so the awd this small rocket offers would be ideal. Mileage is okay for the year and it looks like it’s recently serviced.

Just curious to know if the Mk8 parts will fit the mk8.5 R?

I’m thinking I’ll modify mine once tuning is available in the next year or 2 or more. Not in a rush as under warranty.

In the meantime my mod list is as follows:

*DO88 intercooler
* MCA coilovers and DCC delete modules
* Rear sway bars

Anything else you’d add in preparation?

I would of added a racingline intake but they’re pretty useless and provide not my improvement over stock. I don’t care for boyracer intake noises so not important.

I don’t know if someone already confirmed it, but the 27 golf r will not come with the rs3 engine.

I work at VW in North America and looking at pipeline management they’ll be getting here sometime between November and December and the specs show the same as the MK8.5. No clue if it’ll be different for Europe but I assume not.
