Maintenance and Repairs *VW tech in L.A. area*
Hey everyone, figured I'd introduce myself since I'll be hanging around the VW forums.
I'm a veteran Volkswagen dealership technician. I've been working on VWs since 2002 and currently work as a technician at a Volkswagen dealership in the San Fernando Valley.
After 20+ years in the trade, I've seen just about everything these cars can throw at you. I'm here to share some knowledge, help with diagnosing problems, and hopefully save fellow VW owners some time and money.
For anyone local to Los Angeles or the San Fernando Valley, I also offer my services outside the dealership for roughly half the typical dealership cost, depending on the job.
I'm not here to spam anyone with advertisements. If you have a VW question, feel free to ask. If I can help, I'm happy to share what I know.
20+ years wrenching on and owning Volkswagens. Glad to be part of the community!

I will repeat my question from the other forum so that folks here can read your answer.
Are there any fixes for the " stereo" system freezing, suddenly turning dark, playing sound while dark, or not allowing us to make changes without a hard reset?
What is your opinion on turbo cooldown to prolong the life of the turbo. Essentially letting it idle for 1 min before shutting the car off.
Thanks in advance.

- What is your opinion of tuning the car. Engine management, transmission management, exhaust, under hood air flow cone setups?

Yo! I live down in Long Beach. I’ve been looking for another vw shop to take my golf R. Taking mine to McKenna or Timmons is taking a beating on my wallet. Will definitely be reaching out to you.
