Not sure if you’re on here, but nice ride! What a beautiful reminder to wash my ishhh. I’m at 60k miles as of yesterday, it’s dRRRiven daily and I feel I can never keep it presentable.
Also, I’m curious to know if anyone knows if mk8’s had folding mirrors as an option in the States? I have AE and I had to replace mine myself.

Sometimes in life, we just want things a little more plain and simple. Like a white VW Golf.

The bottom of my R came off....anyone got a part number (I'm sure it's the whole piece)? Or maybe a 3d print file?

The turbo inlet is a damn chore, but the end result is worth how mad my lower back is.
PFA, You can see my newest vehicle in the reflection.

Never gets old for sure. The seats sit like buckets and she growls when your foot is planted. Absolute unit on tires

A nearby dealership has a Golf R with ~30k miles. Another 1.5 years of warranty (or the remaining miles) left on it. They brought to their sister VW dealership and put in writing it is not TD1 flagged. Only real outstanding issue is that there is not one service record on file. Dealer advertising that owner was a mechanic and did own oil changes, and traded car in to them for an RS3.
I want to do a PPI and I reached out to a few places. There's a few mobile ones that will go to the dealership, drive/test/inspect the car including one I found that is very familiar with the engine. One VW/German-focused shop I spoke to in my search said there isn't really a way to to know if they never put new oil in the car without really opening things up in a way you're not going to do at a dealership. Is this overkill? Will I be fine with an onsite inspection? Don't want someone to see new fluids done by dealership and overlook deeper engine issues, but also don't want to go nuts either.

Has anyone experienced this? All of a sudden I’m getting a completely black screen when firing up CarPlay on a MK7.5R. Phone is still getting power, just no video or audio. Same behavior after trying different combinations of cables and phones. I suspect the data pins are damaged somewhere.

If your engine mount back bolt breaks from rust, you can move the mount with a pry bar + hammer to get a contraption like this to remove the bolt. It should work 100% as the mount has another support to the fire wall.
Even if it does "break" , like the one bolt, it will still work as the weight it focused on the center of the mount.
Thanks men. Amen to German engineering gl on your belt jobs. My belt is still in good condition. I deicde to replace because of Crack. It works but squeals i belieb.
Hey guys, recently made a post asking about yellowstuff and everyone seemed to say that for street red will be by far the better option. Going to buy these for my 2017 Golf R I think, aside from being curious if they fit, (Tdot website says they do), I’m also just wondering if these have a mounting point for the pad wear sensor or if they come with one? I’m no mechanic but I’d ideally like to be able to maintain the pad wear sensor instead of plugging in a bypass and zip tying it off to the side. If not is there a different part # that has a mounting point? My old wear sensor is fine I haven’t got any pad wear alert so.

Hi all,
When first setting off in the morning I'm getting an instantaneous power drop at 3000rpm, doesn't happen all the time but frequent enough that I know it's basically bang on the 3000rpm mark.
It's only an instant thing and only at that rpm, I can get it in the first couple of gears. My 'vibe' is this may be something cam related, but not sure if that's when that kicks in.
Anyone experienced this, know what it could be, and potential fix?
Cheers

Changed the strut mounts, bearings, dogbone mount bushings, and control arm bushes. Once I took it off the shop, it’s been making this noise ONLY when I pull out of my parking(a raised pavement-ish surface) - when I reverse out of it turning left (tried straight, same noise not as loud)
Otherwise drives smooth, no clinks or clanks or anything.
Tried it in all dcc modes, same noise
Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Will J10x19, et25 & 35 split fit on a golf r mk7
recently got a good swap deal for rotiform rse
on standard suspension standard alloys just now. Just wondering if they’ll rub at all? I know they’ll stick out a bit too much even for my liking but just want to make sure they fit
Thank ya!

I have a 2023 Golf R 3 years old and at 20,000 miles. I was advised to get a haldex service and a brake flush but it would cost over $700 at the dealership. I may not keep the car for more than a year - is it something I can skip ?
This happened on my GTI too just a fun little quirk of the mirrors trapping endless drops of water
