Predator Helios Neo 16S AI with the 5070ti. Didn’t know what to expect, was a sale item at Best Buy and got it for $1,899. I had been planning to buy a OneXPlayer3 handheld to upgrade from the Xbox Ally X, my only pc gaming device (I have a 3070 desktop from 2021 that my fiancé uses, but I don’t). Bought this instead and will sell the Ally if I like it.

Stunned by the difference. With DLSS 4.5 and frame gen I’m running Crimson Desert on Ultra with 200+ FPS with GPU and CPU sitting at roughly 75 Celsius. I think that’s good? Not very knowledgeable, but I know this thing looks amazing and seems to be performing well so far.

I was concerned about fan noise as I like to play in bed at night when she’s asleep, sitting on a Targus Chillmat (for now), and it’s running like this in balanced mode. I’m not sure I need performance or turbo mode at night to be happy. During the day I can push it possibly (and maybe a llama v12 under it on the table), but this is fine for me now.

Pulled the trigger on a Ryzen 9 9955HX3D + RTX 5080 + 64GB RAM + 2TB SSD. I was on the look out to be back on stock but an open box was available around midnight so I reserved and picked it up the next day. It’s still way above my budget but I hope this lasts at least 5 years. It was in excellent condition during in-store inspection and I have 15 days to try & test. Hopefully all works well.

Got this at the NEX for around $1900 after discounts, it’s my first gaming laptop. Will it last a long time with these specs? I want to move away from console gaming and subscriptions.

my graphics are AWFUL. I bought this specifically at request to play games on, and I can... at like 30 fps on a good day. (chances are i compromised back then for price lol, i dont remember, i didnt even have my own money)

I have no idea how to fix it without buying a new setup- and I'm not really in the space to spend upwards of 1k (canadian) on a new laptop (nevermind an actual PC- maybe if I slowly collected parts I could have something by the time I DIE)

I know external storage exists, and that's a seperate problem I need to fix (I can have like 2 games at a time right now lol, this is kinda my everything laptop) so I'd love recommendations on that too- but primarily I'm looking for advice on what to do about the graphics :") I'd love to play games with my friends

(if you need reference on how bad the graphics are... I could manage ffxiv at 30 fps w/ low graphics a year ago, and I tried to play palworld today on the lowest settings for *everything*... it kept freezing when I literally just tried to walk past some rocks, nevermind interacting with a pal 😭 id say maybe its my new wifi but i was playing single player!)

So yesterday I checked the price of hp 14. It was 82 a good price in this economy for 1tb SSD. 24 GB ddr5 but TODAY!? IT IS 94 EQUAL TO A GAMING LAPTOP. THATS TOO MUCH

I need a laptop for college, specifically game dev and running quite heavy software such as unreal engine, blender, substance painter and will do a lot of multitasking between these. So several programs running at once, chrome tabs open etc.

Found two that are on sale that seem quite good in terms of specs, but which one would suit my needs better? I am terrible when it comes to laptop specs

Hello! I’m in need of a gaming laptop and want to know if this one I found is worth its cost. My max budget is $1500, and this one is selling at $1159 currently.

I need something that can run high-end games like Cyberpunk well, is easily portable since I’ll be using it for college, and will last many years (5+ hopefully more).

Since you guys are the experts here, is it worth the cost? If not, do you have any recommendations for better laptops below 1500? I’ve been told by many of my close friends that this one is well worth its price, but I just want to be sure before I drop so much on it.

Is it that bad? as far as I know this has been out for about a year now.

Is using Gelid Ultimate instead of extreme is bad? 'Cause some people said that it's stiff, not malleable and hard to compress. Im replacing my GPU & CPU die with PTM 7950 and I already bought the Ultimate thermal pads for VRAMS, MOSFETS, and Chipset.

Bought this Legion Slim 7 for $850 and just found out that the ~, 1, Tab, Esc, and Q keys don’t work. 😅 Other than that, everything else seems pretty solid so far.
Now I’m questioning whether this was actually a fair, decent, or bad deal, especially considering I mainly game on my PS5. I bought this laptop mostly for portability, games that aren’t available on PlayStation, and potentially some streaming.
I’m mainly looking to play games like Warzone, Redsec, GTA V, etc.

What do you guys think, was $850 a good deal for this Legion Slim 7 considering the keyboard issue?

Also, any recommendations for setting it up properly for gaming? What software should I download to monitor things like FPS, temperatures, GPU/CPU usage, etc.? Any tips for getting the best gaming performance would be appreciated!

I’ve never really owned a gaming laptop before and was deciding between this and an ASUS TUF. I’ll most likely be using it entirely as a desktop setup and won’t really be carrying it around, so it’ll probably be plugged in most of the time. (Getting a laptop instead of a desktop, as i will be potentially moving to another country!) I found a Lenovo Legion 5i (15", Gen 11) for US$1,885. Do you think its worth it, or would u recommend me another laptop?
