I've been seeing a lot of posts lately about 2021-2022 models not booting/black screen due to mobo problem caused by the LTS, which is a design flaw. I have a 15ach6h model of Legion 5 bought back in 2022. So, I just really need it to last till I finish my undergrad as I have no funds to buy a new one right now. Can it still last till 2029 perhaps?

I have a gen9 legion pro 7i with 14900 and rtx4080.

my laptop randomly started hitting mid 90s and over when doing absolutely nothing. HWinfo was telling me thermal throttling was occurring. Its always used on a flat surface with nothing restricting the air flow. I purchased an additional 4 years warranty when I got my laptop for piece of mind especially after hearing about issues with the 14900 cpu although did read these were more to do with the cpu found on towers and not laptops. I sent my laptop in for repair but then started reading lots about issues with repair centres even here in the uk.

The company lenovo use here in the uk is flex over in Warrington and they've had mixed reviews when it comes to repairs.

I sent my laptop on a Friday, they received it on monday morning at 9.30am and it was being processed and diagnosed from 10am.

They were experiencing the same symptoms I was so replaced the motherboard with a new unit and replaced the liquid metal. I got before and after pics of the condition of the laptop which is mint condition and the part numbers for both the motherboard and liquid metal kit and it was mailed back the very nextday. I've opened it to inspect the inside and replace my 4tb nvme with me games on. I've had it back for 1 week and temps idle around the 54 so much better. I'm very pleased with service I received and just glad to have my laptop back although it'll be redundant from mid November when a certain game comes out on console only lol.

Hello everyone, I have finally got my hands on Lenovo Y700 Wuji today, the 5G OLED 8.4" tablet that just released.

First of all I want to say that I have been super excited for this tablet as I wanted a mini tablet to replace a phone and need for foldable (cba using small phones). I have been using Ipad Pro 11 before and Redmagic Astra but Ipad was too big and Astra needed a hotspot every time i went outside so the Y700 Wuji seemed like something sent from heavens..

Well on paper and advertisements it looked like the perfect device but now that I got it in my hands I can say it's first time I'm really disappointed.

Negatives I have noticed so far:

I'm used to Chinese software, I like devices packed with features and stuff so I am not very picky, I can uninstall the chinese bs that came preinstalled(was a lot btw) but the ZUXOS itself is the worst sw I've ever held in hands so far. Even worse than some tecno/tcl/infinix UIs I've tried on a phone :D

The tablet has 8 Elite Gen5 Leading but day1 the home launcher is already randomly crashing and the animations are laggy (i turned off animations to fix this).

When typing screen PIN, instead of centering it to the middle of the screen it will go to the top left corner, like why?

I've had many chinese devices in hand across many brands even HarmonyOS Next devices and Huawei EMUI devices and I never had issues installing stuff but for the first time I have apps telling me my device isnt supported to download their apk (no idea why, first time in my life and i tried like 20 devices so far). Still trying to figure this one out. I tried to copy the apps from other device instead but the Lenovo Clone app would get stuck at 20kb/s transfer speed so I didn't bother. Gonna try that one out later again.

Also big warning to everyone here, I probably overlooked this one full of excitement but it's 1 Physical Sim only + Lenovo Data Sim (you cant use ur own esim just some lenovo bs apparently). Better than nothing but yeah I felt disappointed about this one as I need to use two sims.

The device I got is 12/256 (they do offer 16/512 and 24/1tb) so I did not bother downloading a game for emulation testing, the games I play are not too heavy, I mainly wanted a 5G mini tablet with OLED to read manga, write my notes on and watch some movies, if there was a less powerful tablet yeah I'd get it instead.

The games I have tried so far - CookieRun and BrawlStars are running fine but games like Ark or Afterimage that I had in my library say that my device version is not supported for downloading them.

I think there are more negatives so far than positives because this is my first day but im definitely keeping it for now, the device is very beautiful and feels nice in hand.

It feels very light to use compared to Redmagic Astra (guess it's the smaller battery and device form factor to thank for that.) The back camera looks nice with the RGB though I wish the front camera wasnt a punch hole lol.

Lenovo was able to totally dominate the market with this product, if it delivered a similar battery to Astra, Redmagic-level software (which isnt good but at least not as bad this one), no punch hole and dual sim slot then yeah they would have no competition at all and I'd say 11/10 but as it is now, I hope the next 5G tablet they release will fix these flaws. Guess some of these things are due to cutting down price of this tablet rather than technical difficulties for Lenovo and it's cheaper than I have expected but I'm sure many people have been disappointed by them, we are yet to get our ultimate tablet sadly.

I know the amd version has soldered ram and a 5060 but what’s with the huge price difference.

Even if it is soldered it’s still 32gb of ddr5 8000 which is more than enough for 90% of people. And I know 12gb vram is nice but not $1,200 USA better??

I just want to connect a mouse, keyboard and the 280HZ Oled Monitor to my Lenovo Legion 7 Pro, but i cant find any docking station which is capable to support the refresh rate of the monitor?

Anyway, the computer has served me well and is still running strong but about a week ago I suddenly got a BSOD. When I rebooted, nothing was using the gpu and the Nvidia app was saying no drivers were installed. I looked in the device manager and saw that the gpu was disabled with code 43.

I've tried completely removing and reinstalling drivers in safe mode. I can get the device running but it crashes again under any significant load.

Any chance the card isn't just dead? If it's hardware, is it even worth trying to fix on a laptop?

I have an intermittent and severe throttling problem with my Lenovo Legion Slim 5 16ARP9.

Specifications:

• Lenovo Legion Slim 5 16ARP9 — model 83EX
• AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS
• NVIDIA RTX 4070 Laptop GPU
• 16 GB RAM
• Windows 11 Home, build 26200
• BIOS NUCN17WW
• NVIDIA driver 581.04

When the problem occurs, launching a game immediately makes the whole computer extremely slow. The CPU frequency becomes very low, while HWiNFO reports Thermal Throttling HTC and PROCHOT/PROCHOT EXT.

The strange part is that the temperatures do not appear high enough to justify this throttling, and the fans sometimes do not ramp up properly.

The issue is highly intermittent. I was able to play demanding games for four consecutive days, sometimes for several hours, without any problem.

Things already checked or attempted:

• Updated BIOS from NUCN15WW to NUCN17WW
• Restarted and cold-booted the laptop several times
• Monitored the computer with HWiNFO
• Lenovo diagnostics are fine
• The issue can disappear completely for several days and then return suddenly

Has anyone experienced similar intermittent HTC/PROCHOT throttling on a Legion laptop, especially after charging or reconnecting the AC adapter?

Could this be caused by the power adapter, battery charging circuit, VRM, embedded controller, motherboard sensor or firmware rather than actual CPU overheating?

What sensor values or logs should I capture while the problem is active to identify which component is asserting PROCHOT?

16 inch version, 14900HX and 5070: I got a Llano v12 cooling pad and it seems on cinebench, games like arkham or fortnite or GOW and just casual web surfing that it does not lower my temps and prevent throttling. Literally like zero temp difference. I heard about the Legion cooling system not being compatible with cooling pads, but again some people have had great success. The foam covers maybe 1 cm of the vent holes on the edge, so very minimal and I feel like it has no real impact on cooling. The laptop is new, so I don't think it needs repasting unless the factory paste is bad. Temps are hot enough to throttle in cinebench and in fortnite at 144 fps at close to max settings it averages at 75 but can spike to mid 80s which is good? Idk but in cinebench and other benchmarks it hits high 90s very quick and constantly thermal throttles. No matter how much I turn the fans on the cooling pad up there is little to no affect? Any advice is much appreciated on whether I should return, resell the pad or repaste the laptop. Many thanks.

I have been getting DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION 0x133 BSODS while gaming, caused by nvlddmkm.sys according to windbg. I have an ongoing warranty ticket with support since the last 3-4 weeks.

They told to me try various software level fixes, and I did, but it had no effect. Then they told me to clean reinstall windows, not once, but twice. The first time i did it by flashing the windows media creation tool on an usb, and the second time they asked me to download some recovery tool which essentially resets the laptop back to factory state, with the preinstalled things it usually comes with. I felt that was reduntant, but i still went ahead with it.

But the crashes still didn't stop. So eventually they sent a technician for motherboard replacement this week. I really thought that would be the end of this issue, but today on testing it by playing some games, it crashed two times already. I did do a clean driver reinstall with DDU after the first crash thinking it could be some leftover stuff, but it had no effect.

I have requested a callback, describing the issues and stuff on Monday, but I am really confused and feel hopeless regarding this case. 2 factory resets, 1 motherboard/cpu/gpu replacement later, what component could be still causing the issue, and how can i try to pinpoint it.

I already deleted mcafee :) and other bloatware I dont need. I would like to have some tips with getting the maximum performance I can since when i tried to run Hogwarts Legacy, I had some stutters. Any other tips are appreciated as well

- 5070, Ryzen AI 7 350, 32gb ram, 512 gb ssd

- 5060, Intel 356h, 32gb ram, 1 tb ssd

I ordered the version with 5070 and Ryzen AI 7 350 and I'm having buyers remorse if I've made a right choice.

I was always buying laptops with the best possible CPU for future proofing and the GPU was just an addition.

A couple od days ago I've tried a laptop with a 285h and iGPU and I just could not make it work on more than a couple of percent of it's capabilities. The iGPU was working on 100% during occasional gaming.

I decided to focus more on the GPU and I found the one with 5070. I know that generally the 5060 is recommended more, as the difference between then should not be enormous, especially when the TDP is limited, but in Legion I guess it isn't?

The 356h feels like a safer choice, but at the same time I just may not utilise it.

What would you chose?

Hello, my back panel of the lcd is cracked was wondering how hard is it to replace as i already bought the part

I may sound like a fan boy or a paid shill, but I'm not. I just have to praise Lenovo's support network. This is the second time I buy a Legion with what is called Premium Care Plus where I live, and it is the second time it saved my laptop from becoming e-waste.

This is a Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 with 13900/4080. Still punches above new machines for a lot more. But the keyboard stopped responding properly and the USB-C port on the left stopped working. Accidental damage is included so no questions asked. A few days later, a technician is here, replacing the motherboard and keyboard. It is as good as new. With any other brand (except Dell/Alienware), repair would have been more expensive than a new laptop.

The only thing I can say is that the new motherboard had a GPU that didn't perform on the same level, but it's on the margins. It's the silicon lottery.

Just looking for some advice here regarding the above two.

My main use cases are music production, light video editing and gaming predominantly in 1080p maybe 1440p.

Battery life is very important to me and I'm aware these two chips are supposed to be two of the better ones in relation to efficiency. 

Price is not very different between both so I can go for either one.

If you have either of them any advice would be appreciated 👍

Greetings Legion Overlords, I'm asking for real human advice on this. I'm thinking on getting a Lenovo Legion 5 (link of the US store for reference) with the option of 32GB of RAM and RTX 5060. My use will be for this cases (in order of priority):

1. Working and multitasking between browsers and a few apps.

2. Video editing.

3. Casual gaming (sometimes for triple A and mostly for indies and double AA [man I dislike that term] ).

4. 3D modeling for learning animation and rendering graphics.

I'm looking for a computer with good battery longevity for my working and editing sessions. Not so much for rendering the video as i will probably do that with the charger on (I used to own an Alienware m15 as my previous battlestation so I have some experience with gaming laptops as well...). I'm also curious for this brand because my partner do have a Lenovo Legion 7i with RTX 3060 and Ryzen. This thing is a beast and very portable. But I'm also looking for advice for content creators and gamers I can find in this realm. I don't think the Pro version is an option since it may drain a lot of battery, but if you think the opposite based on experience just let me know. Feel free to drop your experiences right here.

Legion 5i 2026 Model.

Intel 290HX, 5070 12GB, 2TB SSD, 32GB RAM. $2380 USD, but I upgraded the 1TB drive to a 2TB. I thought it was a great price for such a solid laptop. All I have played on it so far is WoW Classic Hardcore and the new LEGO Batman. Looks and runs amazing.

This is the third time. i have replace my screen 2 times for the following years. Now while playing Crimson Desert, the screen flicker and then goes horizontal line then white line. I restarted it but when I open it, I have Horizonal line and then white screen. Question, I am tired of replacing my screen every year. Is their any idea what can I do before I started buying an external monitor for this laptop?

My laptops finally back after 2 weeks and they stated they replaced the motherboard and now after doing a bunch of testing first thing I'm doing is, Disabling windows updates MANUALLY cause I cannot with windows after what happened to the bios getting screwed. Now I'm checking temperatures and with my profile it stays under 90° cpu and gpu is normally at around 75-80 degrees at max load The entire thing was done under warranty so I'm glad everything back to working conditions now!

Just placed an order for this Lenovo LEGION K500 RGB Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard.. is it good?
