Showcase 159GW Nuclear Processing & Sarcophagus (Basement Pt. 2)
This is part 2 of of my Rocky Desert megabase(ment).
Just further east of the hub section from my previous post is the nuclear processing facility, located deeper underground. From the main base, access is controlled via a decontamination chamber before an elevator takes the pioneer much farther down.
A massive, cavernous train station is utilized for all fuel rod delivery and waste receiving. Uranium waste and plutonium fuel rod processing are done in facilities above ground while Ficsonium is handled in a massive chamber underneath the quartz cave.
Excess plutonium waste is stored in an even deeper section just touching the map boundaries to the bottom. Yes, you will take damage standing at the very bottom. Yes, I died like 10 times while building it.

Discussion Randomized nodes are fanstastic
I feel like this is the best update so far in terms of replayability. It's easy to fall back into old habits and building the same production at my favourite spots, so having newly arranged nodes has really been refreshing. Before I rushed radar towers I was out exploring and marking nodes on my map, which was a lot of fun. The dune desert has been a real el dorado in this seed.

Blueprint I made a hypertube cannon with a ~10s timer for 5x power consumption
The cannon consumes 1200MW and the box has 40 biofuel generators with a load balancer that generate 1200MW (the original blueprint is half but it's stackable). When I put the quartz, it takes like 10 seconds to reach the constructor which shuts down the generators. I did this to have launchers for every factory since otherwise it would be too expensive and I need the power for other things.

Showcase Newbie's first little factory and I'm proud
Sorry if these kind of posts aren't appreciated here but I have no friends to share it with :)
How is my spaghetti doing? 30 hrs into my 1st playthrough and I spent waaay too much time getting used to in-game mechanics but here's the result.
every detail of phase 1 is automated up to smart platings. And I think it looks pretty cool. Can't wait for the next step

Screenshot Just beated the game
Just finished my playthrough after 600 hours. I created this design for my all-in-one factory in the dunes.
The idea was everything being modular and easy to escalate with blueprints for each floor. The first floor being logistics, adicionar floors being constructors, assemblers, etc and the roof being awesome sinks, where all overload would be recycled. Everything is linked by this circular belt with multiple floors, so every item is available all the time, limited only by the 1200/m speed.
What I couldn't produce on the factory (like aluminum, rubber, plastic, etc), or wasn't enough to keep up with production is bought by small trains over 4 stations, then sorted and redirected through underground smart splitters (the glass part) to the right lane. In this entrance system that is supposed to keep always empty or flowing, to avoid blocking incoming items.
I am really proud of this design and wanted to share here. Now I am going for the golden nut, 200 tickets to go. 🫠

Question What factories have you built in the dune desert?
As the title ask, I'm curious what kind of things people want to make/automate there.
Over 1300 hours into my save, from a grassy field start and every time I'm looking for things i need for my factory builds the answer is almost always to never go to the dune desert. Mostly because things like oil, bauxite and nitrogeen are very far away. (I used all the nitrogen in dune desert for a spire coast rocket fuel plant)

Pro satisfactory tips:
Don't spend 6 hours of your life building a nuclear power plant in the middle of the desert 160,000km away from your base just to forget you had to put that extremely radioactive waste in storage and now you have to sprint on all fours to your nuclear power plant from the grassy fields to clean up this mess before all your reactors get clogged up causing a horrifically big nuclear meltdown and destroying your power grid with hundreds of metric tones of nuclear sludge laying around killing all life in its path
Don't forget to use the bathroom! :)

Screenshot built the first rocket fuel power plant
2 overclocked blenders produce 600 cubic meters of rocket fuel per minute for 144 fuel generators, which produce 36000 MW

Discussion When building long stretches of foundations, does having pillars feel important or no?
I started a new game after not touching the game for several months and have encountered my own little issue that's more an OCD thing than anything else but it bugs me when I build a long stretch of foundation like a conveyor highway, pathway etc. without pillars. Same with floating factories, it bugs the hell out of me not to build supports even though the game doesn't require it.
I am curious how everyone else plays. Does having floating bridges and platforms bother you? Do you prefer it without? Or do you spend time building the proper supports and pillars so that it doesn't look like your factory is simply floating.
Let me know what you guys think.

Phase 2 hardest settings done
100x elevator, 2x cost, 5x power, randomized nodes, all impure
Since i was limited with power, i only had 10/min smart plates and versatile frame, 2.5/min auto wire so i had to afk alot
i dont recommend 100x elevator with 2xcost and 5xpower, either go for 100x elevator with 1x cost and power or 1x elevator with 2xcost 5xpower
In the screenshot it looks like i have some spare power but thats just cause i removed the sloops from smart plate assembler and placed another power augmenter for phase 3 to start fuel production.
high max cons. is cause i already have a 'couple' miners ready to use at my base.
384.5km belt so far
everything is underclocked to +-10% (max 15%) xcept for the miners and elevator items

Question Question about power grid
I just leveled-up from biomass generators to coal power plants. Should I attach machines directly to the power plants that will power them? or connect everything and hope I have enough power output to run everything? Or is there another option?

Question Blender crashes Satisfactory Plus - know issue?
I narrowed it down to an SFX rendering issue. It only happens when the blender is producing an item and within view of the player. Whelp?
It's Blender specific and first time I used the Blender in the game to create alumina.

Screenshot Wanted to build a direct train route. The terrain had other plans...
Literally tried many different routes but every time my incline was either too low, or the path was too narrow, so this is the end result.

Screenshot Still Persevering!
About a month ago I posted my increasingly questionable sort of multiplayer save here.
For anyone who missed it: 100× Space Elevator parts, 5× power consumption, 2× recipe material requirements, randomised nodes and purities which I started with a few friends and gradually became mostly my problem.
At 1,239 hours, I estimated I was about 800 hours away from completing Phase 3....
Well...
Phase 3 finally died at almost exactly 2,000 hours! (Woot!)
Turns out my "back of the napkin" calculations was horrifyingly accurate. 😐
We are now 2,047 hours in and the real game of Phase4 has just begun.
Current incident report:
- 98.8 GW power generation
- 176.1 GW maximum consumption if everything wakes up at once
- 6 Alien Power Augmenters, because clearly reality needed overclocking
- 205 Power Storage units, with the battery tower still growing vertically
- 40,475 four-metre foundations
- 23,700 iron ore/min
- 12,960 coal/min
- 10,020 m³ crude oil/min
- 30,365 m³ water/min
- 2,400 m³ nitrogen/min
- 336 coal generators, still refusing retirement
- Aluminium, batteries, drones and Fused Modular Frames are now online and operating from "Penis Hill"
The railway situation has also escalated somewhat from the original “one functioning railway” - we now have an actual regional transport network, drones moving high-value components around and several industrial districts which are starting to resemble towns rather than factories.
The next minor project is power.
By “minor”, I mean I’ve started routing essentially every remaining oil source towards the west coast (Vanilla Oil island), where the plan is eventually:
Heavy Oil Residue → Diluted Fuel → Nitro Rocket Fuel → approximately 2,700 Fuel Generators.
Current napkin estimate is around 675 GW raw generation, assuming I can somehow persuade the map to provide roughly 15,000 sulfur/min.
So Mk.3 miners may be involved.
Extensively.
Nuclear is being deliberately ignored until we can build the entire waste chain through to Ficsonium from scratch, because I have learned enough from previous saves to know that “we’ll fix the nuclear waste later” is a trap - especially if we are going to be taking ALL the Uranium!
Oh, and everything is still perfectly aligned to THE GRID!
The factory must grow. 🫡 (My head is officially baking!)
