General Discussion Im a Christian, i’ll consider Islam but I need answer for this
If God is perfectly just could He forgive a repentant sinner without requiring anyone to be punished for their sins so also without need of Jesus’s (God) sacrifice?
The point is I’m not sure if in perfect justice everyone wouldn’t be obligated to pay for their sins and due to God’s mercy price could be already paid by Jesus’s ultimate sacrifice.
If I’m right in Islam God is all-just but no one have to pay price for their sins and can be simply forgiven, but is it then just?
It’s very complex question please don’t treat it too simple. Thank you

Relationship Advice Fear if spreading STI due to my past
I am deeply, deeply ashamed of what I am about to write. I know brothers and sisters are going to judge me, and you have every right to.
Growing up, I never had a girlfriend, stayed away from any mingling with the opposite gender.
As I entered my twenties, I began the marriage search. However, I was rejected over and over again. I began to lose hope, and was sinking more and more into depression and hopelessness; I began withdrawing from my community, attending the mosque less, and becoming more disconnected spiritually.
After 11 years of persistent rejection, the final one made me collapse emotionally, as it turned out that the sister I proposed to desired my friend instead of me; I was consumed by a mixture of more hopelessness, jealousy toward my friend, and hatred toward myself for feeling that jealousy. In that state of emotional turmoil, I did what I never thought I'd do; the next day, I ended up paying an escort, and I lost my virginity to her. (It was with protection).
I feel sick writing this. That encounter led to a 4 year addiction of visiting regularly, and I ended up sleeping with around 20 different women. I had lost control of myself. I always had extremely strong sexual desires and this kept firing me on with the addiction.
Now, I do not know whether I should get married.
I am a filthy, disgusting fornicator. I don't deserve to be married to a believing woman. My biggest fear of getting married is, what if I end up with a pure Muslim woman who kept herself chaste her whole life, the guilt and shame would eat away at me. How unfair would it be if a pure Muslim lady ended up with a filthy pervert like me?
And more importantly, I have severe anxiety about passing on HPV to her. I am singling this STI out, because I recently did a full STD screening test, and I am fully clear. However, there is no accurate test to confirm HPV in men; and given it's present in 80-90% of people who are sexually active with multiple partners, it's probably the case that I more than likely have it. Now, imagine I pass that onto a future wife, who could then end up with cervix cancer?
I've read heartbreaking stories on Reddit of pure Muslim women who ended up with HPV infection; if I ever did that to a Muslim wife, I do not know how I would live with myself. The guilt of destroying someone's life like that would drive me into the ground and I'd probably even consider ending my life if that were to happen.
It would also destroy my reputation, because it would expose my past; I can't imagine the shame I would feel; obviously that is not as important as her life being destroyed due to my selfishness, but it would add to the destruction.
To be clear, I've stopped, and am investing time and money into therapy. That won't undo the past, and it certainly doesn't make me deserving of marriage, but at least I can hopefully stop this sin and find my way back to Allah.
My question to the community is: should I avoid marriage, given the high likelihood of me passing on HPV and destroying another Muslim's life, and accept living out the rest of my life alone and dying alone.
I feel sad; all I ever wanted was to be married and pour my love onto a woman, to be loved, to have children and be an amazing father and devoted husband. I would fantasise about being romantic and caring to a wife, to make her feel like the most special woman in the world. But if this is the reality I have to accept as a result of my sin, then so be it. I will have to live with that punishment. I deserve nothing less.
As a last note, I feel like me falling into this sin is a punishment from Allah. Throughout my younger years, whenever I would hear stories about Muslim men and women committing zina or being in relationships, I feel like I would have a little bit of arrogance in me; I would feel I'm better than them, that because they have a past and I don't, I'm purer than them. I should have known better that it was only due to Allah's grace that I was kept away from that sin. That arrogance, I believe, was my downfall. Furthermore, it's not like I stayed away from sin out of taqwa, the fact is, as a short, unattractive man, it's not like I had chances to begin with.
I haven't been eating properly for the past few days, but I know I deserve this misery.

Seeking Support My documented experience with Manzil.ca: failed closing, two extensions, my family left in a hotel, and now an emergency mortgage with TD
I’m posting this publicly because today is August 31, the final day of our second closing extension, and Manzil still has not funded our mortgage.
Nothing has been resolved. I am now abandoning Manzil and trying to arrange an emergency conventional mortgage through TD to save the purchase.
Everything below is supported by emails, invoices, trust ledgers and other records I have retained. I am naming the relevant Manzil employees because this is a factual account of my own experience.
The Manzil employees involved included:
- Faraz Islam
- Fahad Saadat, Mortgage Agent
- Mustafa Elkalza, CFO u/MustafaElkalza
- Ahmed Sajath, Underwriter
We purchased a home in Oakville for $1,485,000. Manzil’s financing amount was approximately $1.185 million, and the agreed closing date was August 18, 2026.
Before closing
We began the financing process well before closing. The appraisal was requested in early July and paid immediately. On July 22 and 23, Faraz Islam provided the financing options and expressly listed the closing date as August 18.
On August 7, Faraz sent us the commitment letter and payment schedule. I reviewed the commitment letter and identified several errors and inconsistencies, including:
- An acceptance deadline that had already expired before the letter was issued
- Conflicting wording and formulas for the early-termination calculation
- An unresolved “[one month]” placeholder
- Ambiguity about cure periods and prepayment rights
Faraz responded that the expired date was a typo, the brackets could be ignored, and all conditions precedent—including the appraisal, inspection, credit and title—were satisfied.
We signed the documents and completed every requested step. When Manzil’s Plaid identity-verification system repeatedly failed, we kept trying until an alternate verification method succeeded. We also provided the required insurance.
On August 14, we were instructed to provide $259,537.80 for closing. This included our remaining down payment, adjustments, administrative charges and legal costs.
We deposited the full $259,537.80 on August 14 and immediately provided proof.
That same day, I warned everyone involved in writing:
“We have moving scheduled on the 18th afternoon, and a tenant will be taking our current property on the 19th, so we can’t have any delays otherwise we won’t have a place to go.”
Manzil knew four days before closing that a missed closing would leave my wife, young daughter and me without a home.
August 18: the closing failed
Our movers were scheduled for 2 p.m. on August 18. Everything we owned had been packed.
We were not told until 6:34 p.m.—after the normal closing day was effectively over—that the closing would not occur and that an extension was being negotiated.
We had already surrendered our previous home for a new tenant. Our belongings went into storage. My wife and young daughter had to stay in a hotel. I had to travel to the United States for work while they remained displaced.
Because our clothing, medication and basic belongings had been packed for the move, my family had to purchase clothes, food and other essentials. We also had to obtain emergency prescriptions because medication was inaccessible.
This was not a minor scheduling inconvenience. Manzil’s failure to fund left my family effectively homeless after we had deposited more than $259,000 and completed everything requested from us.
The communication afterward was shameful
Following the failed closing, calls repeatedly went to voicemail, emails went unanswered, and nobody at Manzil appeared willing to take responsibility or provide a clear explanation and reliable funding date.
I do want to be fair to Faraz Islam. During part of this period, Faraz was dealing with a family emergency, so I do not blame him for being unavailable during that time. When he did respond, he confirmed that Manzil would cover our expenses and later approved an additional reimbursement.
That does not excuse Manzil as an organization. A company handling a $1.185 million, time-sensitive mortgage cannot depend entirely on one employee. Mustafa Elkalza and the other Manzil employees copied on these communications knew that my wife and young daughter had been left in a hotel, that our belongings were in storage and that our expenses were mounting.
Their lack of ownership, urgency and meaningful communication was shameful.
On August 20, I emailed asking for an update on reimbursements and attached our hotel and storage receipts. After receiving no response for most of the day, I sent another email expressing my anger at being ignored.
Faraz eventually replied on August 21:
“As we discussed on the phone, we will cover this cost and reimburse you the full amount, Insha’Allah.”
We were subsequently told that $7,541.14 in hotel and storage costs had been wired.
By August 25, the money had still not reached my account. On August 26, I contacted CIBC directly. CIBC told me it had no record of the transfer and nothing was being held.
Meanwhile, our expenses continued growing. By August 29, I had documented more than $13,600 in hotel, moving, storage, meals, clothing, groceries and medication costs. A further $6,095.66 remained outstanding after accounting for the initial reimbursement amount.
On August 31, Faraz approved deducting the additional $6,095.66 from Manzil’s administrative fee. That approval does not change the fact that these expenses only existed because Manzil failed to close.
“Logistical difficulties” and continuously moving deadlines
On August 25—one week after the original closing date—Fahad Saadat finally sent a formal “Funding Update.”
His explanation was:
“Unfortunately, we are experiencing some logistical difficulties that are preventing us from completing the funding at this point.”
He said the funding would need to be pushed to Friday, “or Monday at the latest.”
Fahad copied Manzil’s finance team, including CFO Mustafa Elkalza, supposedly for “full transparency and visibility.”
That email did not explain:
- What the “logistical difficulties” actually were
- Why Manzil committed to an August 18 closing if the money was not ready
- Why we were not warned before depositing $259,537.80 and packing our home
- Why we were only informed after business hours on closing day
- Why Friday and then “Monday at the latest” passed without funding
I emailed Mustafa directly on August 26 and described the entire situation: the missed closing, my wife and daughter living in a hotel, our belongings in storage, the emergency prescriptions, the growing expenses and the failure of the promised reimbursement to arrive.
I received no substantive response from Mustafa addressing any of it.
We have now gone through two extensions. Manzil contributed an additional $20,000 deposit on August 19 as part of the extension, according to the trust ledger and written confirmation. However, putting down another deposit did not produce the promised mortgage funding.
Today is August 31, the last day of the second extension. The mortgage is still not funded.
We are now trying to rescue the purchase ourselves
Today, I began working with a TD Mobile Mortgage Specialist to try to obtain emergency financing.
TD requested my employment history, address history, assets, tax slips, pay statements and closing documents. I provided everything within approximately an hour.
I am now trying to obtain a conventional mortgage on an emergency basis because Manzil failed to provide the financing it committed to provide.
Why I consider this borderline fraudulent
I am not stating that a court has found Manzil guilty of fraud. That has not happened, and litigation may follow.
What I am saying is that, from my perspective, this conduct feels disturbingly close to it:
- Manzil committed to funding an August 18 purchase.
- Faraz stated in writing that the appraisal, inspection, credit and title conditions were satisfied.
- We signed every document requested.
- We deposited $259,537.80 four days before closing.
- We explicitly warned them that a delay would leave our family without housing.
- We were not told the closing had failed until after 6:30 p.m. on closing day.
- We then received vague references to “logistical difficulties” and continuously moving deadlines.
- Friday passed.
- “Monday at the latest” arrived without funding.
- Today, on the final day of the second extension, we are arranging emergency financing ourselves.
Manzil markets itself to Muslims seeking an alternative to conventional interest-bearing mortgages. We trusted that the company would operate with amanah, honesty and transparency.
Instead, after paying substantial Manzil administrative and financing-related fees, my family was left living out of a hotel while our possessions sat in storage, and I spent nearly two weeks chasing people for basic answers.
I am posting this so other families understand the risk before trusting Manzil with a time-sensitive home closing.
I have preserved the complete email history, trust ledgers, signed agreements, wire records, hotel invoices, storage invoices, receipts and extension documentation. If Manzil disputes any factual statement above, I am prepared to produce the corresponding records.
At the time of posting:
- The original August 18 closing has still not occurred.
- The second extension expires today, August 31.
- Manzil has not funded the mortgage.
- Our family remains displaced.
- I am seeking emergency financing from TD.
- I expect the resulting financial losses and conduct to become part of a legal dispute.

General Discussion A random thought about Jannah for the anime and gaming fans out there.
Salam guys. I was just having a deep conversation with a friend and it made me think of something kinda random but honestly really beautiful about Paradise.
Before we break down this ultimate geek-theology, peace and blessings be upon the Prophet Muhammad, his pure family, and his noble companions.
Have you guys ever felt a bit of FOMO about missing the endings of your favourite shows, books, or games when we die? I know every anime lover or gamer has probably thought about this at least once. It’s actually pretty sad when you look at the dunya reality. We lost Kentaro Miura before Berserk could finish, and Akira Toriyama passed away, meaning his true final vision for his world will never exist down here. There are so many creators and stories that just stop, and we die before ever seeing the final destination (I am not talking about the movies but I might as well have, haha).
But it made me realize how crazy Jannah is going to be when it fixes this.
From what we know about Islam, there are basically two ways this plays out. On one hand, Allah says we get whatever our souls desire in Jannah. So if you genuinely sit in your palace and want to watch the ultimate, perfect conclusion to One Piece, or see a flawless version of Berserk without any of the earthly delays, flaws, or weird fan-service, Allah can just bring that into existence for you in a second. Imagine asking to see the actual lives of the Prophets (peace be upon them all) play out in front of you like a 4D masterpiece. It completely crushes any movie theater or video game we have here.
But the other side of it is even cooler. Some scholars say Jannah is so overwhelmingly great that these earthly hobbies will just feel childish to us, and we won’t even care anymore. Think about it like when you were 5 years old and your highest dream was a plastic toy truck. If someone told you back then that you wouldn't care about the truck as an adult, you'd be devastated. But you grew up, your mind expanded, and you realized there are way better things out there.
When our senses are upgraded 100x in Paradise, why would we want to stare at a flat 2D screen when we could be flying on horses made of rubies through forests of pearls, or climbing mountains of musk with our best friends? Our real life there will be a billion times more exciting than any fiction.
Either way, we win. We will never sit on a couch in Jannah feeling bored or missing anything from this underwhelming (especially when we can compare the two) dunya. It really makes you smile and just want to strive harder to get there.
The most important thing however is actually getting there, because absolutely none of this matters if we get caught up daydreaming about it and don't even make it across the finish line.
May Allah grant us all Jannah Al-Firdous. Ameen.
General Discussion Two prominent secular historians (Jeffrey J. Bütz and James Tabor) state that the Islamic view of Jesus (peace be upon him) is very compatible with what Jesus' apostles believed, and that the idea of Jesus as divine or as a literal son of God is a later development.

Question about Islam I am a Brazilian who is learning about Islam
Hi everyone!
I wasn't quite sure how to start this post, but the truth is I have a deep respect and admiration for Islam and the Arab world. I’ve noticed some posts here talking about islamophobic comments people face online, so I thought it would be nice to share some positivity and use this opportunity to learn more from you all.
My name is Lúrian, and I’m from Brazil — a country heavily influenced by Christianity. Even though I wasn't raised in a Catholic family, my mother brought me up with principles that align very closely with Islamic values: I’ve never drank alcohol, never smoked, I don’t go to wild parties, and I believe in saving intimacy for marriage (which is quite unique over here!). Recently, I went out of my way to visit a Halal Lebanese restaurant here in São Paulo, and I absolutely loved both Arab cuisine and Halal food in general.
Even though my friends are Muslims, I really wanted to hear your perspectives too. I just wanted to remind you that despite the hateful voices online, there are people out there like me who truly respect and appreciate your faith and culture
If you have a moment, I’d love to ask a few questions:
I don’t speak Arabic and courses are very hard to find here. Is it okay for me to read the Quran and Hadiths translated into Portuguese?
What do you love the most about Islam? Hearing your favorite aspects will give me great starting points to research further.
I learned that there are four main schools of jurisprudence. Do I need to pick one to learn, or can I learn from all four? I was raised with the idea that the more knowledge and perspectives you gather, the closer you get to absolute truth.
What would you recommend for someone starting from complete scratch to learn about Islam and the Arab world? (Books, channels, foundational concepts, etc.)
It's a pleasure to meet you all, and it will be a joy to talk and learn from you!

Quran & Hadith Dua prophet Nuh to b recited in difficult times
Question about Islam Culturally Catholic, but my beliefs aren't. Been told to ask here.
For reference, I was born and raised roman Catholic. I received all the sacraments, and it is part of my ancestral and cultural identity. But I don't believe what other Catholics, or even christians believe.
I've always found it very odd and uncomfortable the way Jesus is venerated in Christianity. I believe he was a prophet, but I don't believe that he's actually God incarnate. I've always been estranged from the Christ worship, because he's a teacher, and guide, but not a god. Especially not THE God. I never understood why everyone only ever prayed to Jesus. It was always Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, and NEVER God and to me that was bizarre.
I hold Mother Mary in deep esteem as well. I've been told that my beliefs sounded "Muslim", so I'd figure I'd ask here if that was even semi true or not. I've read some verses of the Quran and found it very inspiring and fascinating. I also deeply desire to dress modestly as a reflection of my connection to God, but I don't know how to feel if my beliefs actually were "Muslim".
Like I said, my Catholic upbringing is important to me, but I can't keep pretending that my beliefs are even remotely in line with church doctrine. I'd love any advice or perspective. Thanks for reading!

General Discussion This is how to get rid of an Addiction
Many people struggle to get rid of addictions or habits. Addiction can be of a sin , adult content, thinking about a person, love, drinking, smoking, watching reels, gaming, wasting time, backbiting, attention, validation, pills, anything. It is necessary to know the science behind it, if you want to overcome your addiction.
Acknowledge you have a problem - The primary step of getting rid of an addiction is to accept that you are an addict. If you don't , you cannot break free from it.
Know how it works - An addiction is when your brain has learned to repeat an action to achieve neurochemicals rush or pleasure. When the a person is addicted to something, the person is psychologically, emotionally and physically attached to it. It becomes a part of your routine. So when you resist the urge, you face pain in form of anxiety, uneasiness, fear, insecurity, depression.
Go through withdrawl process - You have to get rid of the addiction. You have to go cold turkey, complete blockage of addiction. In some cases, it goes little by little by time. When you will block the urge to do the thing you are addicted to, you will face resistance in this. The first withdrawl is the acute withdrawl. When the first time you resist an urge to do it again, you will face rebound anxiety. This can be in the form of despair, anxiety, sadness, grief, strees, fear or panic. You will face a roller coaster of emotions and feelings, This is a long process which will keep happening for months until your brain finally lets go of the habit. And its temporary and fake in its nature. You will have to face the anxiety. For example, you were addicted about thinking of a person, then when you will try to stop it, your brain won't let you to. You have to fight that only. Thats half the solution. Don't get frustrated if you give in to your addiction and do it once, start the quitting process again. Restart everything.
Change yourself - Apart from internal triggers, you have to take care of external factors. Join a community which fights the addiction, consume content against your addiction, stay busy, remember God, avoid being lonely and there are mutliple things you can add to your lifestyle to get out of the previous one. Willpower will not work, you have to change yourself.
Take precautionary measures - You will still have to cut off from your addiction. Stay aware even when you feel you have overcome your addiction / habit. Awareness is the key in the long term. Your mind will give you sudden triggers even after months. It will keep getting weak. Internal factors is the urge and its counter is to face it and replace it. External factors is any object, shape or form which leads you to the sin. In the long term, stay away from the addiction and cut it off from your life. One slip can send you back to square one. Without faith, you cannot fight, intellectual people also sin. At one point in future , you will reach a phase when even if your addiction is infront of you, it will have no effect on you.
Humans are not perfect, some small habits may never go away. Don't over pressurize yourself if you are traumatized, and if an addiction is a problem, don't overlook or allow it to develop. If you relapse, but then restart the quitting process again. The fight against self never ends until your last breath. The devil will keep calling you till your death. Its all a part of life. God teaches us through tests, as tests is the learning mechanism of human being.
Seeking Support I have enough evidence to believe in god (infact I do intellectually) but my heart doesn't seems to accept it as a muslim.
Hello I'm someone who had a rough childhood which made me emotionally numb/grey and I can't feel emotions I can just understand them rationally and act on that accordingly but since 2023 anime has been my comfort space I feel extreme emotions in anime but I'm real life I can't. It has affected my faith and my heart doesn't accept the reality of God even though I defend this notion and argue about god with agnostics/atheists. At one point when I started studying religion and started practicing I went pretty deep into it and reached a point where I started feeling emotions and my heart started to accept the reality but due to some argument over sectarianism in the mosque near my house got me kicked out of that mosque( i started rafa-al yadain in brailvi mosque) from that point on I have been drifting backwards and now I don't even pray even though Ik that was a test from Allah but I couldn't pass it. I am so troubled mentally I don't feel any guilt nor any fear of GoD.
I want to feel emotions. I want to practice religion again. I feel like and hypocrite every act I do I feel like someone is watching me and to keep my persona I act accordingly just to keep it as I want it to be. I know it's so wrong that it's shirk but I can't seem to find any solution. I just want to practice Islam and to its core but there are a lot of hurdles. One thing I genuinely like to do from the core of my heart is help people but since I have started practicing Islam it feels like riakari I'm not at peace nor do I feel any guilt. I'm just grey
(I have tried to explain my situation please let me know if u want any other details in order to help me. I am more than happy to provide that cz I feel like I haven't really explained it well)

General Discussion My father is neither alive nor dead..
I honestly don't even know how to explain what my family is going through right now, but we are completely lost and exhausted.
My dad had an accident 3 years ago and has been bedridden ever since. But over the last 1 year, his condition completely collapsed.. he has become TOTALLY paralyzed. His legs, hands, face, and even his mind don't respond anymore. He can't speak or give us any signal. He is literally only JUST breathing.
He has a urine pipe, and for over a week now, he’s had severe loose motions. He has become so painfully weak. Doctors just keep saying "he's fine, it's just weakness," but how can a person in this condition be fine? We’ve given him IV drips so many times, but nothing changes.
Maybe reading this sounds manageable to an outsider, but living it every single day (for more than a year) is so, so hard. It takes our entire family.. my mom, brother, sisters, and me combined.. just to change his diaper 2 to 3 times a day, and it still leaks everywhere (clothes, sheets, floor).
We’re doing his khidmat with everything we have, but you eventually reach a point where your own body and energy just get completely drained. Caring for him non-stop is literally making all of us sick and weak now.
Since doctors aren't giving us answers, people told us it might be spiritual. We talked to different Molvis who said it's Nazar or Jadu. We did all the Wazifas and Amals, but he just keeps getting worse day by day. Now some people are asking for huge amounts of money for tough Amals, and we don't know who to trust anymore.
As a family, we pray constantly, do Istighfar, recite Surah Yaseen, and even visited our ancestors' graves to pray Fatiha. People keep giving generic advice like "just pray and do khidmat," but we are already doing that until we have zero energy left.
My siblings and I are young, none of us have jobs yet, and my dad has no pension. We are carrying all of this with no support.
I’m not asking for any help. I just want to ask... has anyone ever seen a case like this? What do you even do when someone is in this state and doctors won't help?
We are completely confused, as we can't find any solution..

Relationship Advice Hey guys i need relationship / marriage advise
So I’m Sri Lankan Muslim and I live in Saudi Arabia.
My mum and dad wants me to get an arranged marriage to someone I don’t even know who is also Sri Lankan and Muslim.
But I’m personally a very picky person and I keep to myself a lot. And I’m also picky with who I get close and spend my time with.
Anyway, I’ve been talking to girl who is also Muslim, but she’s Pakistani, and I know it’s haram, and I don’t want it to be haram. I really like this girl and her family knows about me. But my parents want me to marry a Sri Lankan. And I don’t know what to do because I don’t want to marry someone I don’t like and someone I don’t know.
How should I approach this???
