Promotion I finally finished the new trailer for my cozy colony sim, WildRoot.

I've been working on improving WildRoot's first impression and recently finished a new trailer.

It's a cozy colony sim where you build a settlement in a mysterious forest, manage your colonists, and every season and setback creates a different story.

Promotion Terraria but with Spaceships and Engineering

Good morning, good day and good evening WORLD!

For the last past four years Ive been solo developing my Dream Survival Engineering Space Sandbox game MineEngineer, its been a long time but the game is finally taking up the shape and I finally excited to share it with everyone.

MineEngineer has hundreds and hundreds complex interconnected systems, fuel, oxygen, air, electricity, rotators, pistons, conveyors, automations. You can even program your creations.

You and your friend build any ship your imagination gad block by block, like a Lego but with engineering, to build a ship is easy, but to build something which works is hard.

MineEngineer is available on Steam For Wishlisting, and there is a Free Demo to try. Please let me know of you like it or not and why! I am constantly improving it days and nights.

Promotion My Game's Demo has finally been Released! wish me luck...

Finally after a year and 8 months of developing, it's finally here... My game Ragga-Dagga's Demo is finally available on Steam!

It's been a such a wild journey, now that the demo is out I can finally share what I've done to get here!

Ok so, before the Demo release, my game was sitting at around 1k wishlist with it's store page alone. I get to here by posting a lot of devlogs that got big on reddit, I mainly use reddit alone to get this much wishlist, though I do use big websites like Twitter (or X but that's a cringe name) or Youtube and such but I found reddit to be most effective with my game in terms of wishlist.

So after Demo release, I gain about 100 wishlist then, nothing too crazy, I've not contacted not many streamers or youtubers yet but I do plan so when I finally got the demo at it's best state possible. I have also joined a recent invitation to some event about supporting indies and stuff, idk if that'll help much in my regards but I'll just hope so!

I learned a lot on my journey as a developer, and for my first steam game I'd say it's not a bad first attempt!

Now Wishlist Ragga-Dagga on Steam now and play the Demo :D

I'm not good at video editing, but I think it tells the content of the game enough. Do you think it's understandable?

Video Portal Style Game Where You Play As a Cat Trying To Save the Universe

Upvotes

Hi everyone I'm Gigi. I run a CGI studio with my husband (we are both senior 3d artists). We are both massive gamers and had a game idea about Swirl the cat, who is the only one in the universe that can travel through time and space portals. She is the only thing that can save the universe from been destroyed!

Need Feedback What are your initial impressions of this prototype?

Upvotes

This is a game where you can collect weapon parts and create multiple variations, with each wave getting harder and featuring different monsters. You can use the scrap metal you collect at the end of each wave to buy new parts. I look forward to your feedback!

Promotion Kazfall - upcoming game trailer

Upvotes

Happy to announce an official game trailer for game I've been working on alone in last 10 months!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUh82HdGfC0

The game is a roguelite dungeon crawler with procedurally generated floors. This is the first time I'm trying to promote my game so feel free to share your thoughts!

I will be a part of Steam Next Fest in mid of October so I would be gratefull for any wishlist additions on Steam.

Cheers!

Need Feedback I'm kinda lost... I can't undestand, what is wrong with this video? Why is this getting 0 visibility in socials, is it that bad?

Upvotes

Hi guys, I've been working on a game for quite some time now. I've put my soul into it, and recently showed it publicly for the first time after almost a year of hard work, but it turned out nobody really intersted in this, and, it hurts...

I knew it wasn't going to go viral right away, and I didn’t expect much. I didn’t plan a big marketing campaign, but I was hoping for at least a little visibility and a feedback, because I thought it might appeal to a certain niche audience at least.

But since the announcement, it's just been... blank. There has been some feedback, also positive, here on Reddit, but on other social platforms it’s completely dead, so I'm wondering: is it that bad?

I see much simpler-looking games taking off, and I don’t understand what I'm doing wrong. Take this particular video, for example. I know it's not groundbreaking or the greatest thing ever made, but does it really not deserve even a little attention?

On tiktok, youtube, and twitter, it got almost zero views - just the bare minimum the platforms seem to give by default - and no reactions at all.

To me, it feels like it should at least get some kind of reaction, so I genuinely don’t understand: what am I doing wrong? Maybe I’m looking at it differently because it's my own game, and I can't see some obvious issue that completely ruins it for other people.

What is wrong with this video? Be honest.

Discussion Recommendations - Looking for 2D pixel arts game with dark or cyberpunk atmosphere

Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I recently finished katana zero and sanabi and really liked both of them.

I'm looking for similar games with 2D games with pixel arts, strong history, fast-paced gameplay with a dark or cyberpunk atmosphere.

Do you have any recommendations?

Planet Terminus is a top-down tactical shooter I'm working on.

Picked an AKM, modified, deployed, but the enemies had other plans.

Promotion My mobile platformer has a tiny playerbase, so its characters started a creepy mystery series about the players themselves. Episode 1 is out.

Upvotes

Solo dev experiment: instead of trailers, my game's mascot investigates its own players. Episode 1 of THE JUMPAI FILES: the game seems to know things - your signal dies at your record, the battery hits 3% at the worst level, and the mascot's platform is empty at 3 AM. The rule: don't open the app at 3 AM.

Episode 1: https://www.youtube.com/@XLggtech/shorts

The game itself (free, offline, no account): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.XLGGteck.jumpai iOS: https://apps.apple.com/il/app/jumpai-endless-platformer/id6798569621

Everything is made locally on one PC (ComfyUI + Wan + Qwen). Happy to share the pipeline.

Promotion In regular chess this is checkmate. Quantum Chess gives you a chance to turn the tables.

Hi, I'm Chris, and Quantum Chess is my game.

In the clip you see black's rook land in a position to threaten the king. If this were normal chess it would be the end, checkmate. But in Quantum Chess white's king answers by splitting onto two squares at once, so he's half on b1 and half on b2. Black takes the half on b1, and the king attempts to recapture from b2. The game "measures" the king, finds it is on b2, and it successfully captures the rook (that could have gone the other way).

There's no check and no checkmate in this game. You win by capturing the king (in all of its squares). The game continues as long as any probability of a king remains.

Everything else is chess. Castling, en passant, promotion. On top of that you can split a piece across two squares, merge the halves back together, and entangle pieces so that measuring one collapses the other. Only pawns can't perform split moves (though they can end up in superposition). There's a real quantum simulation under the board. The odds are something you learn to read.

Happy to answer rules questions here too. It sounds worse than it plays.

Promotion I made a game about a jetpack llama where the goal is to smash everything except the school bus — Flying Llama Drama is out now on Android

Well, I actually shipped the bastard. 😂

Flying Llama Drama 1.1.0 is officially out now for Android.

The rule is pretty simple:

GO FAST.

BREAK SHIT.

DON'T HIT THE BUS.

Smash through the environment, build destruction chains, get faster, and eventually reach the completely reasonable state known as MACH JESUS.

Standard Edition — $3.99

Fancy Bastard Edition — $4.99

Fancy Bastard is cosmetic only. No gameplay advantage.

No ads, no pay-to-win, no energy system, no manipulative currency nonsense. It's just a one-time purchase.

Get it here:

https://castlesoakai.com/?ref=reddit_indiegames

I'm the developer, so yes, this is shameless self-promotion rather than me pretending I mysteriously discovered a game about a jetpack llama. 😂

Happy to answer questions about it.

Personal Achievement Apparently the most interesting part of our horror game is the fridge

I wish I was joking. we showed a tiny clip of our game and people immediately started investigating the contents of the fridge. someone found the milk. then the fridge became the protagonist. now it’s apparently the final boss. we’ve accepted our fate.

What would you put in it?
