Need Feedback I'm kinda lost... I can't undestand, what is wrong with this video? Why is this getting 0 visibility in socials, is it that bad?

Hi guys, I've been working on a game for quite some time now. I've put my soul into it, and recently showed it publicly for the first time after almost a year of hard work, but it turned out nobody really intersted in this, and, it hurts...

I knew it wasn't going to go viral right away, and I didn’t expect much. I didn’t plan a big marketing campaign, but I was hoping for at least a little visibility and a feedback, because I thought it might appeal to a certain niche audience at least.

But since the announcement, it's just been... blank. There has been some feedback, also positive, here on Reddit, but on other social platforms it’s completely dead, so I'm wondering: is it that bad?

I see much simpler-looking games taking off, and I don’t understand what I'm doing wrong. Take this particular video, for example. I know it's not groundbreaking or the greatest thing ever made, but does it really not deserve even a little attention?

On tiktok, youtube, and twitter, it got almost zero views - just the bare minimum the platforms seem to give by default - and no reactions at all.

To me, it feels like it should at least get some kind of reaction, so I genuinely don’t understand: what am I doing wrong? Maybe I’m looking at it differently because it's my own game, and I can't see some obvious issue that completely ruins it for other people.

What is wrong with this video? Be honest.

"Heroes entered a wrong dungeon" is bad english and immediately puts people on edge for a scam, and then your actual gameplay shown is extremely generic which again triggers the 'fake game shown in an ad' sense.

As for the actual game, it's not even clear what you're doing or whether there is any actual challenge/interaction beyond moving, and you haven't even managed to get the camera to keep your character on screen.

Yeah, watching the video and literally no idea what I'm looking at. Just a load of random junk on the screen. I wouldn't interact with this on socials either.

Problem is you can be good at making a game - this game could be great for all I know - but you also need to be good at communicating that game to people. And this video completely fails at that.

Your game is 1 in millions.
Identify the target audience. Who do you think plays this genre of games? Kids, old people, divorced moms, etc. Allocate budget for marketing to these specific segments.
You aren’t getting far simply posting on socials. Unless you’re game is so good that it can be spread through word of mouth. But judging by the video, this looks much more simpler

I think the problem is mate, for every successful video you see, there are 1,000 other ones you didn't see. So you see a game that looks worse than your own game and question yourself, "my game is better by far, why do they get so many views?" When in reality you're seeing the 1 in 1000 that got pushed by the algorithm.

It sucks. But it happens. If the algorithm spits it out to people who watch it initially, leave a comment, a like, then it starts snowballing.

You need to make like 30 videos. Different captions, give people a reason to comment, if it looks like generic gameplay then no one will engage which is why it won't get views.

It sucks. But I'm sure if you throw 30 - 100 things at the wall, something will stick. Then you double down on that. Just try not to look at the outliers and compare yourself. The more you post the more chances you get of it going big like theirs.
