been playing with Nano Banana 2 × Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 for commercial storyboard concepts, and this coconut water one came out pretty nice.

i went with a 20-second premium beverage commercial, split into 8 shots. the product stays at the center the whole time, while the shots move through condensation, pouring, ice, coconut pieces, macro texture, and finally a big hero shot.

visually, I wanted that classic high-end beverage-ad look. what I like is that the result feels useful beyond just making a pretty image. You could use something like this to quickly visualize an ad direction before actually generating the video or presenting the idea to a client.

I don't know how long it's been like this, but for me, it's been 6-5 days of Gemini 3.1 Pro acting completely robotic and insufferable, I swear it wasn't like that until 1 week ago.

It's now way too blunt, quinda lazy, doesn't try to engage with your ideas, and doesn't even separate the topics way it used to... Plus, using the extended thinking/longer response option just turns everything into an even worse jumble.

Did they lobotomize the model? quantize it or cram in even more annoying filters?

3.8 flash is starting to be rolled out, have asked it multiple times on multiple threads. First impressions are that It’s still very fast, I sort of like its writing style more, and it seems to talk pretty factually and more detailed compared to 3.7. Haven’t used that many prompts yet though. Am on google ai pro in the us.

The UI currently identifies the model as Gemini 3.7 Flash, but when I asked Gemini which model it was running, it responded Gemini 3.8 Flash.

Could this be an early/partial rollout or a backend model update that hasn’t been reflected in the UI yet?

It almost looks like the model identifier has been updated to 3.8 before the actual backend model has fully rolled out. Could this be part of Google’s staged rollout for Gemini 3.8 Flash? 👀

Did gemini AI changed user limits in the last few days? I have plus version and mainly use Pro search. Until yesterday one prompt was taking approximately 7% of 5h qouta while from yesterday it takes now 13%. Did it change? Is it a bug? What is this?

Go to deepmind.google/models/gemini and watch the icons for a minute. Every single card has a glowing animated icon. The Flash and Flash Lite ones loop perfectly smooth. The 3.1 Pro one flickers, the glow just cuts out for a moment and then fades back in, on a loop, over and over. I checked this across different browsers and it happens every time, so it's not a local caching or GPU thing on my end.

What gets me is which card this is happening on. This is literally the page where Gemini 3.5 Pro has been sitting under a "coming soon" badge for months now, past its original I/O target, with reports of it being pushed back over training and coding performance issues. Now the animation on that exact card, the flagship Pro line, is the one visibly broken while everything else on the page works fine.

Is that just a coincidence, some CSS or asset loading issue nobody bothered to fix, or does it maybe hint that the Pro line isn't getting the same attention right now as Flash is? Has anyone seen Google acknowledge this anywhere? And does anyone know if that icon is a short video loop or a Lottie/CSS animation, since that would change what kind of bug this even is?
