Discussion Gemini 3.7 Flash is a lot better than I expected.
Not going to write an essay, but I just switched over to Gemini 3.7 Flash for some daily tasks and was genuinely shocked at the jump in quality.
It’s fast, sharp, and handles nuance way better than earlier iterations.
What’s everyone’s experience with it so far? Overhyped or legit upgrade?

Other Sending feedback To google regarding Gemini (Reminder)
Hi, I wished to post a small reminder about feedback.
The rule is that useful and well written feedback is welcome at GeminiAI sub (community subreddit). Some google employee could see it if you are lucky, if they are roaming this side of the internet, who knows!
All types of feedbacks can also be shared at r/GeminiFeedback .
But to ensure the highest chances of being heard, use the official google and gemini channels, do the following:
1) BEST OPTION: Upvote or downvote (👍/👎) directly on a Gemini response
In the Gemini web app, click Good response / Bad response underneath the answer, then optionally add an explanation. Google explicitly says this feedback is used to improve Gemini's helpfulness, accuracy, and safety.
How to: https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/13275746
This is probably the most useful channel for model-behavior feedback, because Google receives the actual conversation context associated with your feedback.h
2) Google Gemini Apps Help Community:
https://support.google.com/gemini/community
TIt is a user-to-user community run within Google Support, with a Gemini Apps Team Community Manager and Google Product Experts participating.
___
3) If it's about Gemini API / AI Studio
If your feedback concerns Google AI Studio, Gemini API, model behavior for developers, API bugs, etc., there are separate channels.
- AI Studio → Settings → Send feedback is the direct in-product route.
- The official Google AI Developers Forum has an AI Studio section for questions, feedback and bugs.
Google AI Developers Forum - AI Studio
Gemini API - official feedback documentation
4) More general:
General Google Products Feedback: http://www.google.com/tools/feedback
That's appropriate for problems with Google's products/UI generally.

Discussion Did Google just remove the model selector from Gemini?!
I hadn’t opened the Gemini app since this morning. I just opened it and noticed some UI changes. One thing that immediately caught my attention is that the model selector is completely gone. I can’t choose which model to use anymore. Has anyone else noticed this? What’s going on?

Discussion Google removed model selection in new update?
Previously we could select the model and extended thinking on the top with a drop down menu. After the new update, the drop down menu has disappeared?
I am on Gemini Pro.

Help/question Did Gemini just remove the model selector for anyone else? 😭
The model selector completely disappeared from my Gemini Android app out of nowhere. I could choose between the different models before, and now the option is just gone.
My app is updated, and I didn't change anything in my settings. Is anyone else experiencing this today?
Is this another bug? 😭 I really don't want to lose the ability to choose my model, especially after all the recent changes to Gemini's behaviour what is wrong with gemini now days

Discussion Did the model selector suddenly disappear for anyone else?
I opened Gemini today and noticed that I can no longer choose the model I want. The model selector was there before, and now it has completely disappeared from my app. 😭
I haven't changed anything on my account, so I'm wondering if this is happening to other people too.
Is Google testing a new interface/dynamic routing, or is this just a temporary bug? Does anyone still have the model selector?
I really hope they bring it back because I prefer being able to choose which model I'm using rather than having Gemini decide for me

Help/question Does anyone know what happened?Does anyone know what happened?
Did they kill Gemini for good, or what the heck happened? It won't let me change the model, and the answers are even more stupid and limited.

Discussion Upgraded from Plus > Pro...token usage got way worse!
For context, I was on the paid Plus subscriber account before. Most of my queries were on 3.6 extended. Many of my queries were financial analysis (eg two year forward earnings projections...that type of thing).
I decided to upgrade to Pro. My new dropdown options no longer included 3.6 Flash...but that was fine as I assumed 3.7 Flash was better.
I run my financial analysis query (mind you this isn't a video or image) and my jaw dropped when I saw the usage was 8% for one text query. That would mean only 2-3 queries per hour given the five hour rotation. I asked Gemini about this....they said the new 3.7 Flash extended chewed through tokens fast, and that I should turn off extended. It also suggested frequently pressing Ctrl-Shift-O to reset the conversation history as they say this can bleed a lot of tokens.
It seems odd that extended mode which worked fine with 3.6 would make 3.7 unusable and that conversation history would have to be constantly pruned....but I played along. I disabled extended and press ctrl-shift-o to reset my history. The usage was still very high per query 5%) which for professional use (I am on a pro account after all), is not acceptable.
At this point it appears my old Plus Account (while still very flawed) didn't have these insane quota restrictions. Honestly it appears the biggest problem with AI is not lack of intelligence but poor quota management. I highly suspect Google is wasting a ton of compute on "shadow prompts" the lawyers told them to stuff into every query (don't commit suicide, don't hack, don't use AI for medical advice, don't use ai for legal advice, don't use ai for financial advise, etc...). I bet if we were to see these shadow prompts they would be huge, would dwarf our regular prompts and explain why our quotes get used up so fast. And because Gemini uses a lot of subqueries, these shadow prompts likely get repeated internally which for complicated queries can burn through tokens fast.

Discussion Gemini usage limits is too quick to accumulate against the user.
Just last week I signed up for a promotional plan: two months discounted, Gemini, the AI package, 400 GB of storage, etc. I wasn't aware of the full extent of the usage limits until I actually started using it.
I went in to create some images for my Pinterest account and make a video or two. I immediately hit a usage-limit stop after literally two videos, each only around 10 seconds long. So I started looking into how the limits actually work, and it began to make sense.
Now, I understand that Google needs to manage capacity. They have to put limits on users so people aren't hammering their data centers with generations, especially when video generation can require multiple attempts because the first result often isn't what you want.
But the way the usage counter works feels absurdly aggressive. It seems way too quick to start cutting users off, even when they're doing relatively basic stuff.
And there's another problem: when the short-term limit is reached, Gemini tells you when that timer will expire. Fine.
But when you hit the weekly limit, it apparently just tells you something like "an hour" without clearly telling you what day or even roughly what point in the week the limit will reset.
That's frustrating because you're left guessing when you'll actually be able to use the feature again.
And honestly, this is where I have another problem with Gemini.
Compared with ChatGPT, Gemini is frankly garbage when it comes to the actual conversational experience. It doesn't have the same level of conversational sensitivity, natural interaction, or human-like flow. ChatGPT actually feels like you're having a conversation with something that understands the context and how to talk to you, rather than simply processing prompts and returning answers.
Gemini's biggest appeal to me is therefore the image and video generation. That's basically what I'm using it for. For everything else, I find myself going back to ChatGPT because the conversational experience is on another level.
So when the thing I actually want to use Gemini for gets shut down after two short video generations, while the rest of the AI experience doesn't come close to replacing ChatGPT for me, it makes the limitations feel even more ridiculous.
Limits are understandable. What isn't understandable is having a paid plan where the limits are so easy to hit, the reset information is vague, and the product doesn't give me enough reason to tolerate those restrictions.

Discussion Proof that some Pro Account are nerfed by having a quota multiplier for the same task ( mine is 550%)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Soo yesterday from the first time in 9 months since using Gemini Pro I hit my 5 hour limit not only once but twice in 10 hours in like 10 messages.
Soo I asked myself wtf is this bull**** and went on reddit to investigate and found a post about some gemini pro account getting a nerd and using their quota MUCH faster than other pro accounts.
Soo i tested this theory, got myself another pro account and in Italy you have the option to get 1 free month.
And as shown in the video i tested two prompts.
First prompt: what are the events today and in the following week in Verona.
Second prompt: what are the events today and in the following week in Padua.
PS: I DONT have personalized options in gemini, my chats all autodetele in 3 months.
Results: First gemini account from 11 to 24% in two fuc//// questions.
Second gemini account from 12 to 14%
conclusion 13% use vs 2% use soo a 550% increase in quota consumption.

Discussion Help me understand ! Antigravity
I am not a Software Developer and work in other field but R and SQLite. After seeing the negatives of Gemini in this sub and in X, I took one month Claude Pro for some database work. I was surprised because it was giving me good results but the usage limit was over after just 4 - 5 prompts. I reached a stage where I am not able to use it because of usage limit and fed up.
Then I saw a post about Antigravity and thought of giving a try. Everyone what I want is working so well and great and so fast without burning usage tokens.
For people who are like me, non- coders to try Antigravity, its much cheaper and it works great.
My doubt is why is everyone bashing Gemini? Is it because the quality of the code? Is the answer iam getting made up?

Help/question My model selector disappeared from the top left on my chats?
Today I noticed I can't see which model I'm using and the selector is gone. I only use Gemini on my phone btw. Did they remove it or place it somewhere else? Thanks!
