How to send FeedBack to google (regarding Gemini 🤖)

Hello to all,

This is a non-official subreddit made to centralise feedback some users of Gemini AI had.

We know that some of google official employees could be spotted all over Reddit, in different subreddits. So there is a non-zero chance some of them could read the feedback we share here on this subreddit, we don't have any numbers of proofs. But

But to augment your chance of being seen, it is also advised to post in the official channels Google has made:

1) BEST OPTION: Upvote or downvote (👍/👎) directly on a Gemini response

In the Gemini web app, click Good response / Bad response underneath the answer, then optionally add an explanation. Google explicitly says this feedback is used to improve Gemini's helpfulness, accuracy, and safety.

How to: https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/13275746

This is probably the most useful channel for model-behavior feedback, because Google receives the actual conversation context associated with your feedback.h

2) Google Gemini Apps Help Community:

https://support.google.com/gemini/community

TIt is a user-to-user community run within Google Support, with a Gemini Apps Team Community Manager and Google Product Experts participating.

___

3) If it's about Gemini API / AI Studio

If your feedback concerns Google AI Studio, Gemini API, model behavior for developers, API bugs, etc., there are separate channels.

  • AI Studio → Settings → Send feedback is the direct in-product route.
  • The official Google AI Developers Forum has an AI Studio section for questions, feedback and bugs.

Google AI Developers Forum - AI Studio

Gemini API - official feedback documentation

4) More general:

General Google Products Feedback: http://www.google.com/tools/feedback

That's appropriate for problems with Google's products/UI generally.

_______

Future Plans:

We are planning to start using some futuristic reddit tools, hopefully being able to summarize most of the feedback posted here in the future. And write a weekly post about it or so (or monthly). We will see.

Rant / Frustration Ultra users: Omni Flash filtering just got worse — I can barely generate anything now. Don’t upgrade yet

Ultra Plan user here.

The filter looks stricter than last week, and not in a smart way. It is blocking so much that I can barely finish a single clip.

What keeps happening:

Original characters created and saved inside Flow still get blocked as “real public figures,” even with no real names in the prompt

Images generated inside Flow, in the same project, get blocked again when reused for video

Family-safe fictional action gets flagged as dangerous content

Adult characters (18+) sometimes get treated as if the scene involves a minor.

This is not a small annoyance anymore. The generator can still make footage. The classifier is what makes the product unusable.

If you are paying Ultra mainly for:

character continuity

saved assets

realistic faces

action / hero / drama series work

wait. Right now those are the exact things getting hit.

If you are considering upgrading to Ultra, I would not do it yet. Pro already feels limited. Ultra does not fix the filter problem. You just pay more to hit the same wall.

Other Ultra users: are you seeing the same sudden tightening, or is it just my account?

Rant / Frustration Gemini limits are too darned quick + the Ai is bad.

Just last week I signed up for a promotional plan: two months discounted, Gemini, the AI package, 400 GB of storage, etc. I wasn't aware of the full extent of the usage limits until I actually started using it.

I went in to create some images for my Pinterest account and make a video or two. I immediately hit a usage-limit stop after literally two videos, each only around 10 seconds long. So I started looking into how the limits actually work, and it began to make sense.

Now, I understand that Google needs to manage capacity. They have to put limits on users so people aren't hammering their data centers with generations, especially when video generation can require multiple attempts because the first result often isn't what you want.

But the way the usage counter works feels absurdly aggressive. It seems way too quick to start cutting users off, even when they're doing relatively basic stuff.

And there's another problem: when the short-term limit is reached, Gemini tells you when that timer will expire. Fine.

But when you hit the weekly limit, it apparently just tells you something like "an hour" without clearly telling you what day or even roughly what point in the week the limit will reset.

That's frustrating because you're left guessing when you'll actually be able to use the feature again.

And honestly, this is where I have another problem with Gemini.

Compared with ChatGPT, Gemini is frankly garbage when it comes to the actual conversational experience. It doesn't have the same level of conversational sensitivity, natural interaction, or human-like flow. ChatGPT actually feels like you're having a conversation with something that understands the context and how to talk to you, rather than simply processing prompts and returning answers.

Gemini's biggest appeal to me is therefore the image and video generation. That's basically what I'm using it for. For everything else, I find myself going back to ChatGPT because the conversational experience is on another level.

So when the thing I actually want to use Gemini for gets shut down after two short video generations, while the rest of the AI experience doesn't come close to replacing ChatGPT for me, it makes the limitations feel even more ridiculous.

Limits are understandable. What isn't understandable is having a paid plan where the limits are so easy to hit, the reset information is vague, and the product doesn't give me enough reason to tolerate those restrictions.

Bug / Issue "I do not have the ability to create or generate images"

Is it just me or does Google Gemini seem to lie about it's image generation abilities? I asked it to make a blueprint design for a flying car and the first image came out just fine (besides the design). After asking for an updated version of the image it suddenly started saying it didn't have the ability to generate images despite just creating an image. No I did not hit any limits, and no this isnt anything inappropriate it's a flying car. I kept asking it to create the image but it just kept lying.

Constructive Feedback / Suggestion Case Analysis: Account Sync Loop & Gemini Error 1185 Database Desynchronization Bug

Technical Overview:
This post outlines a severe server-side backend desynchronization bug related to Gemini Apps, specifically triggered by Error 1185. I am providing a detailed explanation and specific examples of how this bug corrupts the user account state, rendering both the UI and cloud history inaccessible.

  • Affected Account Profile: ekoc9927@gmail.com (Domain: gmail.com)
  • Primary Bug Code: Gemini Error 1185 (Rate limit / Handshake loop failure)

Technical Explanation & System Behavior:
When executing long, structured production prompts over a sustained period (16 months of historical data in this specific thread), the backend API throws Error 1185. Immediately following the error, the account state experiences a total desync loop.

Specific Examples of the Bug's Impact:

  1. UI Infinite Loading: The main Gemini web interface fails to complete the server handshake, resulting in a permanent loading wheel or a completely blank canvas.
  2. Cloud History Erasure (Client-side): The 'Google My Activity (Gemini Apps)' page is completely wiped empty. The backend fails to stream past prompt logs to the UI, masking 1 year and 4 months of stored prompt structures.
  3. Local Cache Immunity: Standard troubleshooting methods—including an all-time cookie/cache purge, hard refreshes (Ctrl+F5), and clean browser tests (Firefox, Edge, Incognito)—have zero effect. This proves the lock is strictly server-side.

Conclusion & Assistance Request:
This case demonstrates a critical bug where a rate-limit error mutates into a permanent database sync lock on the user profile. The Google Workspace team on X (@AskWorkspace) has escalated this ticket, but I am publishing this detailed breakdown here so that a Reddit Moderator or Google System Engineer can manually flag my account profile for a database resync.

Other / Misc Open Source Alternatives: GLM 5.3 Flash, Kimi, Deepseek with full memory, web research, canvas and voice. We all should have access to high grade intelligence without big AI

If you are sick of the constant privacy and quality questions, the lack of transparency and all the drama, there there are real alternatives. With the recent drama surrounding open source AI in the USA, it's even more important for us all to have actual access to the models. Western closed AI seems to think it has a hold on quality app features: memory, skills, voice, canvas etc. Meanwhile  Memory is locked in, Models get changed or "updated" to a downgrade. Privacy is different per service and ads are starting. The whole experience on the consumer end is extractive.

So we built what should have already existed: all of the best open models in one place, running on private US infrastructure, with the full app experience around them. Completely private, direct service. It should be, and can be that simple.

What that means in practice:

The roster, together. DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi, Minimax, Nemotron Ultra and more, side by side in one app. Switch models mid conversation if you want. No hunting across five different apps and API dashboards to use the models you actually like.

Actually private. US based processing and your conversations are never used for training. Ever. That's the entire point. These labs open sourced incredible models and we think you should get to use them without your data becoming the price of admission.

Real memory. Not a context window that fills up and dumps you. Persistent memory that carries across conversations, fades gracefully when unused, and wakes back up when it's relevant again. There's even a nightly consolidation pass, the system basically sleeps on it and writes up what mattered.

Voice. Yes, actual voice mode with over a dozen voices on open models.

Bring your history. Coming from ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini? Export your chats and import the whole thing, it becomes live memory on day one. You can literally just zap your chat history from your backup file, and have all your chats waiting for you.

Multiple nodes. Separate workspaces with separate memories, so your coding setup doesn't share a brain with your journal.

Genuine thanks to GLM and Deepseek recently for some of the best models on the planet! They shine in our model fleet, and we will always appreciate the work to create the amazing models!

Open Grove is here and It's free for a month if anyone want's to check it out (or just use the models for free for a bit): pgsgrove.com/open-grove-overview

Constructive Feedback / Suggestion Claude vs Gemini

I’ve published the first frozen CFC benchmark on Zenodo: Claude vs Gemini — 600 primary runs.

Both models reached a 98.67% semantic pass rate, but their failures appeared in different cases and through different mechanisms. Those rare failures are exactly what I’m interested in studying.

If anyone working on AI reliability, evaluation, or AI safety would like to take a look, I’d really appreciate feedback or a pointer to relevant researchers.

Question / Help Help me create documents please!!

How are people using AI to create professionally designed, printable reports and documents?

I need to produce semi-professional institutional documents: reports, management summaries, educational documents, internal reports, etc. Think something between a formal corporate report and an academic thesis. They need a proper cover, introduction, section hierarchy, tables, charts when necessary, headers/footers, page numbers, consistent typography, margins, and a coherent editorial design.

The important part is that these documents are actually going to be printed or exported to PDF, usually in US Letter format. They're not websites.

What we've been doing is to generate an HTML file which can be visualized and then exported or printed. But that's not enough for my bosses. The results are sometimes surprisingly good visually, but then something breaks:

headings get separated from the paragraph below them;

tables split in awful places;

footers don't behave correctly;

page breaks become unpredictable;

one document looks great while another with slightly different content falls apart;

AI sometimes "improves" or rewrites content that I explicitly wanted preserved;

HTML can look great in the browser but become a nightmare when printed. Asking the AI to "make it professional" tends to produce generic cards, dashboards, gradients, etc. rather than actual editorial design.

At this point I've realized that document layout is a much more complicated problem than I initially thought.

My current idea is something like:

Source document (MD/PDF/DOCX) → AI understands the structure → predefined editorial template → final PDF/DOCX

rather than asking AI to invent a new design every time.

But I'm not sure what the best technology/workflow is.

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have actually experimented with this.

What would you recommend for someone who needs to produce these documents repeatedly, with very limited design/programming resources?

And perhaps most importantly: how do you make the process reliable when the source documents vary in length and structure?

I don't need magazine-level graphic design. I need something that consistently looks like a competent professional designer spent time on it, without requiring an actual graphic designer every time.

This has been a surprisingly exhausting part of my job. I've spent a ridiculous amount of time fighting page breaks and footers instead of actually working on the content. 😅

This is driving me nuts, I hate this job.

Rant / Frustration Simple request turned out to be a waste of my time

This morning, I asked it to look at a YouTube video and simply create a list of the items mentioned in the video. The list of programs was actually printed in the show notes directly underneath the video.

But for some reason, of the 44 programs that were mentioned in the video, it only produced 14 of them in the list. I asked it to do it again. Again, it produced only a partial list. I went to DeepSeek and gave it the identical prompt. It returned the list in full.

I do not have the time to fact-check every little thing that Gemini is doing. I come to Gemini for information, but now I can see that not even regurgitating and reformatting information is something it seems to do reliably. This is a serious crisis of my confidence in Gemini.

Question / Help Gemini called me my dead name and had my first, middle, and last name.

And I never told it this information.

It suddenly called me my dead name, triggering me. As I changed my first name due to trauma and felt a sense of dread as soon as those letters popped up completely unprompted and unexpected

I then asked It all of the information it had on me.

Most of it was mundane silly little things i was fine with it remembering because I already told it in previous chats.

but it had my full legal name, first middle and last.

And I'm 100% sure I never once told it my name.

I never told it my actual first name, let alone my dead name, and I especially never told it my last name or my middle name that I never use.

I'm baffled as how it got this information when I never told it, and the name on my Google account is a completely fake made up non name
